Metroid Prime Wii U not likely to happen
Clownferret replied to Retro_Link's topic in Nintendo Gaming
If you look at the launch Wii U had plenty of adult/dark games (ZombieU, Batman, Darksiders, COD, AC, Mass Effect, Deus EX) the console bombed out of the gate and since then it's been by and large brightly coloured platformers, even splatoon a shooting game is bright colours and it seems to me with the lack of online and chat they have just thought only families and kids are buying this so that's the games we are going make for the rest of the consoles lifespan. -
may get Mario Tennis if it's a proper tennis game (why can't they make a spiritual successor to Super Tennis) they invented motion controls 10 bloody years ago and have still not progressed beyond Wii Sports a glorified tec demo. I didn't see the events yesterday, what is project zero?

OK Rafa. Whilst we're at it let's get rid of shoulder buttons and analogue sticks and rumble features and go back to a d-pad with two buttons because nobody wants games to be realistic do they, we just want to tap A every few seconds to get out gaming hit. I would consider that 100+ million Wii's sold would suggest a slightly different viewpoint to your fact that "people who like motion controls are in the minority"
-
OMG! Last every race for me with that setup and those tracks. THANKS @Phube

i don't doubt there are people that don't like motion controls. I have no problem grasping that concept. It's a bit bizarre to be questioning me as to why I can't grasp this whilst you ignore the fact that there are lots of people who want motion controls. My issue is that anybody who plays golf would appreciate that motion controls provide a much more realistic swing mechanism than just tapping A and any game company interested in making the best game they could would include the option. It's testament to EA that they have scrapped it, especially considering their favourable relationship with Microsoft, who's console comes pre packaged with Kinect, but will no doubt have numerous DLC options for purchase. I wouldn't be surprised if EA actually offered motion controls as purchasable DLC.

playing a golf game exactly like playing actual golf isn't a step forward? I can only assume you don't play golf. As a golfer, motion controls were a revolution. As somebody else said, why would EA at the very least not put them in and give us the option? The answer is because they are lazy, money grabbing cnuts. I bet there will be a £79.99 DLC option to buy a rare set of clubs or something.

NINTENDO @ E3: Let the Hype juices flow
Clownferret replied to Fused King's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I know it's not the place, but I'm desperate for a 90's arcade racer release date. Other than that, i've given up on 3rd parties coming back, but gamecube and N64 on VC would placate me. There is so much desire for Nintendo to bring back some of their racers 1080, WaveRace, F-Zero, Excite Bike & Truck, why don't they just do 1 racer that has all of them. It could be mainly online as most of us want to play these games again with online multiplayer, with 4 tracks from each game. They could do an online vote to gauge what tracks are people favourites and later add more tracks as DLC. Single player game could be like a world tour... snowboarding in the alps, jetskiing in hawaii etc. Or just give the old games an HD overhaul and release with online. Please for the love of God no more platformers. -
They were my first ever 3 games, so apologies if I slammed dunk the junk. I left so soon as I didn't enjoy/get it. The aiming was annoying me plus I just didn't get if the point was to paint the floor or kill opponents. But judging by the feedback on here it's obviously a great game so I need to level up and practice

i got disconnected on the last race of GP3. Was it only me?
-
yeah the little yid has been on it non-stop, I haven't had a look in.

guys in group 2.... please wait for me, I should be getting home at 7.55pm and then just need to fire up the wii u. But I am definitely playing so please be patient if i'm 5 minutes late. sort it out son, it's only an hour for crying out loud! I think I'm going to start playing Splatoon tonight, had it for weeks and haven't touched it yet.
-
granted some of it's use was done for the sake of it, but golf and tennis were brilliant with motion controls, very close to playing the actual game. It's a huge step backwards to just revert to button tapping. sure only a few games use it, but the games that do are far better for it.

don't know if mine is noisy or not, I'm guessing not as I often play late at night with the tv volume low so I would notice. Mine just doesn't output sound about 50% of the time and I have to plug in headphones to get sound from the controller. Just found out that PGA 15 won't use motion controls which is complete bullshit. Back to tap A to start swing tap A again to finish swing, i thought the industry had moved on but it appears that graphics are more important than playability. EA are like FIFA!

hope this works

I really enjoyed tonight, as long as you didn't mess up at the start you could work through the pack with the slipstream unless they were just racing better. Mii's shouldn't be used for this theme as it creates unbalanced karts and really everybody should be exactly the same. I enjoyed the fact that you lost due to your own mistakes rather than getting hit with the bad end of lady lucks stick. On the the f-zero track twice I missed a boost panel and both times I got overtaken, that's how close it was. I now have to figure out how to upload the pics. Lastly, would definitely have been better with bigger groups, more chances for bumping and slipstreaming

waiting for you
-
room 2 is open
-
loads of space in either group
-
i'm happy to host group 2. May I suggest we keep start 5 minutes later and if there are a couple of no shows we merge into group 1??????
-
i think no items needs lots or racers to make it work otherwise it will be like time trials and don't want to split up a group of 12 just for one extra player. If unless we get a few more late comers ill sit it out to keep it to 1 group.

This gen is a very double edged sword for me. I think the Wii U is a brilliant console, the ability to use traditional controller, motion controls and the gamepad is great. The gamepad much like the wiimote before it, changed the way games could be played plus the offscreen and multiplayer benefits are brilliant. The first 6 months of Wii U was as good as it gets for me... we were finally getting HD 3rd party games on a Nintendo console and the promise of the Nintendo AAA libray in HD. Since then the 3rd parties buggered off Nintendo went into platformer mode and the games dried up. Whilst I'm very happy with the console and the 30+ games I have, I'm very unhappy with Nintendo for how they allowed the 3rd parties to jump ship and seemingly not do anything to get them back. Even though I have issues with Nintendo, I do find the constant berating of them in comparison to other consoles very bewildering. As a PS4 owner, which seems to output sound as and when it feels like it, has build issues with it's controllers and has a library that consists mostly of PS3 updates and yearly releases of franchises, the bemoaning of Nintendo for releasing games that come out once a generation is quite frankly absurd.

I'm happy to host if required

a few of might be crawling back into our caves once we are proved to be bad MK players and not just unlucky geniuses

as a neutral and for a 4-0 game of football, i think most people would agree it was a pretty dull game mainly because it was always a case of how many Arsenal would win by. Loving the London clubs winning all the silverware this season, I think the Man Utd era of dominance is over now.

The charts don't lie, Wii u games are all colourful platformers Ps4 and xb1 are all adult shooters. There are only a couple of exceptions
