What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!
Goafer replied to Aneres11's topic in General Chit Chat
Scandroid has put the full remix album on YouTube. It's pretty good, although the first 2 tracks are easily the best. -

I met him at a signing and he was amazing. Every bit as charming as you'd imagine. As I walked away, he yelled "go get 'em Luke". It was one of the greatest moments of my life. Sad times.

I got a message from an American friend asking if I was ok. I don't think he quite understands how far I am from London and Manchester... Still, it's the thought that counts eh?

On a slightly more serious note, this might be the most Goddamn inspiring things I have ever seen: Man drinking pint while fleeing terror becomes symbol of London spirit. Our country's ability to carry on as if nothing has happened is one of the few things I'm legitimately proud of and although the pint guy is a bit of silly news, it does show that perfectly.

Damn right. Have you heard the Snake Plissken Theme? Plays in my head everywhere I go.

I think I have a solution that would keep everybody happy...

Sorry to hear all that @Ashley. You know where I am if you fancy a rant. My bad news seems trivial now, but I came here to post it, so damn it, I will. My phone died. The back button has become overly sensitive, so just presses itself like it's possessed. Like multiple times per second. Makes doing anything impossible. I took it back to EE, as it was still under warranty, but it normally takes 2 weeks to repair and mine might take longer as it's an oldish phone (S6) and parts aren't made as much as newer phones. They've given me a loaner phone, which is awful to the point that I haven't even bothered getting many of my usual apps for it. Battery life is good though, but that's probably because I refuse to use it. I'll just have to make do until mine is repaired.

Not technically a photo, but I made a trailer for Themefest 2017, featuring some handsome studs from this very forum. Also @ReZourceman:

My new job has been going pretty well. I was supposed to have a review and potential £1k pay rise after 3 months if I did well. The boss asked to see me last Friday (a month after I started) and told me that I had done so well that the 3 month review wasn't needed and gave me a 2k rise. Whilst the money was awesome, it was the boost in confidence that was the nicest. There's been a lot to learn and I was worried I wasn't learning it quick enough, but I guess I must be doing pretty well. The job as a whole can be very stressful, but the days do go unbelievably fast. Today was also my first payday, and although I knew I'd be getting paid more, I didn't really know what to expect. With the new pay rise, my new job pays £4k more than my last and the monthly increase took me a bit by surprise. Money wasn't exactly a struggle before, but it always required some sort of budgeting. This month I managed to pay back the £70 overdraft I had used last month (last pay check at the last job was less than ideal and I had been to Themefest), put a decent chunk into my savings, put more than usual into our shared account and still have plenty left to last me the month. Good lord it's great to finally get a decent wage. I have also been entertaining the idea of doing some freelance work on the side. Nothing too big, just some cheap logo design for local businesses. Since I now work in a print/design shop, I have access to decent leaflet printers, so I figured I'd just drop some flyers into small local businesses. I'm looking at charging £50 for just a logo, £100 for logo and stationery and £150 for a logo, stationery and branding guideline document. It's cheap, but I'm hoping some businesses will go for it almost as an impulse buy.

GAME UK launches 'elite' loyalty scheme
Goafer replied to Jimbob's topic in General Gaming Discussion
How the average trip to Game goes for me: Walk in. Look for any figures or miscellaneous crap for impulse buys. Find nothing worth buying. Look at games in case of any bargains. Walk out disappointed. Go to CEX. Literally every time. I honestly can't remember the last time I bought anything from Game. Their prices are ridiculous and they offer nothing that I can't get online. Their new shops with the cyber cafe style computers, tournaments and stuff seems like it could be a good idea, but again, it personally still gives me very little motive to go. -

I've just started listening to My Brother, My Brother and Me. In their words, it's an advice show for the modern era. They take questions from Yahoo Answers (and people write in specifically to them as well) and dish out advice, although it's rarely useful.

Well, ReZ doesn't seem to want to post his epic photo of Themefest, so I'll bloody well do it.

Saw a copy in CEX, but was fairly sure I had a copy so didn't buy it. Got home, couldn't find it, so bought a copy from Amazon for £3.

Yup. It's a 3 stage process: 1. The Shoppening Everything is great. You look at houses and they all look rad as fuck. You imagine what you'd do with every house if you bought it and suddenly turn into a DIY expert. "Yeah mate, I'd smash that wall through and have a walk-in refrigerator" 2. Them You decide on a house, make an offer and have it accepted. That's when "they" emerge. Your solicitor of choice, the seller, their solicitor and the estate agent. All of them are twats. No exceptions. Pick whichever solicitor you want, they'll either be shit (most likely) or they'll be great, but everyone else will fuck shit up. Everything is shit, everyone is shit and you start to wonder why we don't all live in the wild like Pagans. 3. The Prestige Moving can be stressful, but after that, you own a house. Everything is pretty rad. You look down on mere renters with contempt. You'd shit in a bucket and throw it out of a window onto the peasants below, if only you hadn't bought a place with a big front garden and trespassers get set upon by Boswell, the comically aggressive dog you've bought. You spend your time doing stupid shit to the house, because it's yours and you can. A bookshelf full to bursting with different jars of chutney? Why the fuck not, you're the king/queen of this castle and no one can tell you not to. You contemplate building a moat and filling it with the most exotic alligators known to man, but realise that wheelie bins don't travel across draw bridges very well.

Yeah, but you can offer less if you bribe them with Irn Bru.

They take babies as currency now?! Wish I knew that before I started the mortgage.

My first ever legit Adobe purchase. Feels weird. I used to use my work's licence, as each licence can be used on 2 computers, as long as they're not being used at the same time. But seeing as I no longer work there and I'm not confident enough at my new place to ask, I figured it was about time I bought my own licence. Went for the full Creative Suite, since I regularly use Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Premiere and it worked out cheaper to buy all the apps than to buy them separately.

Nah, I heard Stardew Valley was better. Plus I couldn't be arsed to set up an old console.

On PS4. Don't know why, but I had a hankering for a Harvest Moon type game and this one looked like the best one.
