Yeah, they're not great, but a good backup if I don't have a controller. Plus my phone is always on me, so I'd be able to play whenever I want. I'm leaning towards getting an 8bitdo controller, which can be used wirelessly on my phone (allowing me to charge it whilst playing) and wired on the Pi (the 360 pad constantly flashing is annoying). I may then decide on whether to put a screen on the Pi at a later date.

I've tried to start this up again, but have a dilemma. Which device do I play it on? Mobile phone: Convenient, as I can play it with or without a controller, depending on if I have a controller on me. Can't play on the TV though, nor charge the phone and use a controller at the same time. Raspberry Pi: Can play on a TV, but can't take it with me unless I get a screen and power source for it. DS: Can't play on TV, plus I've lost my charger. I'm leaning towards getting a screen for my Pi, as the Pi has a tonne of other games on it and is probably more versatile than the others. The convenience of playing on a phone is appealing, as I always have it on me, but I don't want to drain the battery on my phone.

I too would love to learn to play the drums. N-E Blue Man Group confirmed. -

I'm no expert in guitars, but from what I've read and my own experience with the Ibanez, they're good for faster playing, due to the thinner neck. To me it allmost feels like a halfway point between a bass and an electric guitar. Everything just feels lighter than my Squier, but it could just be that the Squier is a particularly chunky design. Either way, Ibanez basses get my complete recommendation. -

I've been playing bass on and off for about 15 years now, but I never really took it seriously. My first bass was a Squier P-Bass: A friend and I started playing together quite regularly, so I upgraded to an Ibanez SR500L, which was the best left handed Ibanez I could find without going for a signature model. I do love this guitar. It's so much easier to use than the Squier, which now just stays tuned in drop D in case I can't be arsed to retune the Ibanez. I then decided to try a "normal" guitar, so picked up an Epiphone SG. I love the look of this thing, but I just don't get on with guitar, so it rarely gets payed. I also inherited a load of harmonicas from my Grandad, but I've yet to learn to play them. My grandad was pretty good from what I can tell, as there are a few certificates documenting his wins at the National Harmonica League (which is the best thing ever). I think he also travelled to America to play/compete. Here's a few of the nicer ones, but there are loads more in various states of assembly. I think the others were either being rebuilt or used for spares. -
Well I hope you liked and shared. Each one will equal 1 prayer. It's ok, I hear Elon Musk has already fashioned an iron lung out of a fridge and some rubber hosing and is flying it to Banbury as we speak.

What terrified me as a kid? Virtually everything. Heights (still does), the dark, strangers, aliens, ghosts, The Xenomorphs from Alien, Terminators, Boglins, the list goes on. I remember someone down the street put up a new light by their front door. I could see it through my bedroom curtains and was terrified because I didn't recognise the light and assumed it was aliens or something. I also had a recurring dream where I climbed the centre pole of a huge circus tent to a smaller tent at the top (kind of like a crows nest on a ship). I would always fall off after having some sort of shock at the top and a clown would lunge at me during my fall. That's when I'd always wake up. Weirdly, I have never had a fear of clowns. A vivid imagination and complete cowardice didn't do me any favours as a kid...

I sold mine and made a fortune. You can convert them to technology modules as well, which can be useful in crafting. They're easily obtainable later from merchants if you'd rather sell everything now and bask in excess cash. I carried on my save, as I had a decent ship and plenty of cash. I personally think it's worth carrying on your save and just treating it like a new game, but with a bit of a headstart. You still find a sort of tutorial mission after a few system jumps. I don't like the third person view either. It seems to floaty and doesn't seem like it's actually attached to your character. The ship one is better.

Ahem, shallow depth of field, black and white photo.

So the photo mode is pretty good. My freighter, LS00-Bebop: My hauler, Bal-Bas-Bow: The ship I bought because it looked funny, Pest: Me, in front of my main ship (Viper II) on my first colonised planet, which I aptly named "Witch's Tit":

I hope they sort the bugs out soon. I haven't had any crashes, but so far I've had one of my ships disappear from my freighter twice and I've had to restart to get it to reappear. I think it disappears every time I move the freighter. Wouldn't be much of an issue if I wasn't using it as storage. The first time it happened, I landed my other ship in the slot it should have been in, causing them both to spawn in the same slot when I reloaded. Took off with one ship, only for it to embed itself in the wall of my freighter with no way out. Ended up reloading and taking off in the other ship, which fortunately worked fine. I've also got a glitch where my freighter is fully fuelled, but can't warp as it says I have no warp fuel. Apparently it's due to the warp drive being in the technology tab, meaning the game doesn't recognise it. So I'm stuck in my current system until it's fixed. The game is much better than when it was released, but it's still a buggy mess and a little bit empty.

Our annoying neighbours moved out today. Me and Maddie are getting takeout to celebrate. In one last act of annoyance, they've left an incredibly overflowing skip on their front lawn, so I can't wait to pick it all up off our front lawn. I hope their new neighbour is a drummer.
-
I also approve of this heat. It is a bit much, but I definitely prefer it to the grey, dreary weather we normally get. Everything just looks better when it's sunny. Plus, have you seen my legs in shorts? Dem gams doe. Our front lawn is completely dead, which is a bit of a bummer. Not so much that I'll actually bother watering it though.

I used to do archery, but quit because I found it a bit boring and didn't want to spend money to stay a member of the local archery club, which was pretty much the only place I could shoot. I would have kept it up if I could just pay whenever I wanted to shoot, but it was an annual membership and there was no way I was going to get my money's worth. Well a friend and her boyfriend (who used to be an archery instructor) are now looking to setup a little archery range on her parents' farm for our group of friends to shoot at. Got my bow out of the attic and it's not rusted/rotted into a million pieces, which is nice. It's bloody tiring to use though, once again highlighting how out of shape I am. Also, I knew I had acheived some badges, but forgot that I got my 40 yards badge and Third Class, which was an added bonus.

The Official N-Europe top #10 games of all time

Am I doing it right? Maybe I should ask @Rummy -
Same thing happened to us. Seller took 4 months to evict the tenant, then wouldn't answer one of our questions for another 2 months, then told us at midday that we had to exchange contracts by the end of the day or he would relist it. Asshole never did answer our question.

I am so out of shape, it's unreal. I used to cycle a lot and got to the point that I could cycle a 50 mile round trip with reasonable ease. Now I can barely cycle to the next village without wanting to stop. I'm hoping by posting my plans in here that it'll convince me to stick to them. My girlfriend has recently started doing Spanish classes on Mondays and plans to possibly do an extra one on Fridays soon. I've wanted to take a self defence class for ages and there's a Muay Thai one at a really good MMA gym the same time on a Friday nearby, which would be great as I would be hanging around anyway due to me driving her to the Spanish class. The plan is to work on my fitness a bit beforehand, then join the Muay Thai class. They also teach Jui Jitsu, which I may move onto as well if I end up enjoying Muay Thai. Either that or take a different martial art at a different place, as I quite like the look of Krav Maga and Jeet Kune Do, but they're not as close by. The idea of excercise for excercise sake seems boring to me, but hopefully the fact that I'd be learning self defence will make it entertaining. I have no real interest in taking it up as a competitive sport, so hopefully it's not too MMA focused, but I would like to improve my fitness and confidence, whilst also leaning self defence.

I guess I'm lucky as my Pearl GameCube doesn't seem to have yellowed. My Dreamcast on the other hand hasn't fared so well. My NES has started to as well. My SNES is pretty good, although I don't know if they yellow, as its more grey than white.

I was so confused when I was tagged in this thread! Will definitely give that a go. I've been using Quorn instead of mince for ages, but found some of their other stuff to be lacking. Definitely happy to find more of their stuff that's good. (Anticipates the "Real meat or GTFO" posts)

Already did. 3 in fact! Virtua Fighter Remix, Fighting Vipers and Space Jam. And thanks guys. Hasn't really felt like a birthday yet, as I've not really done much, although I have got the day off work.

I have a sealed copy of Jet Set Radio on the Dreamcast and I recently bought a sealed copy of Defcon 5 on the Saturn. Super weird to see a brand new Saturn game. Haven't seen a box without some sort of damage for a long time. I opened it and the manual is so crisp. Such a strange feeling. Haven't opened Jet Set Radio yet and probably won't as I have no real desire to play it.

They were out by a day, Sega just confirmed on their Facebook page that it's the 21st.

I got mine a few days ago. I think they're slowly releasing them.

That leads to an interesting question: which consoles do people have setup? Under my games room TV I have the PS4, Saturn, GameCube and Raspberry Pi. Living room TV has the PS3, but mainly for Blurays. I don't swap out consoles often, so they've been there a while and will probably remain there for some time.

Balls to original hardware. Every single SNES and Mega Drive game ever made (and a select few from other consoles) on one system FTW.
