I'd agree. IGN reported on a camera gizmo that could identify eyes and fingertips, so for it to be able to track your face and rotate the camera accordingly would be a simple thing to do- and bloody superb for cover in shooters.

If anyone is expecting new iterations of home hardware soon, i think you're sadly mistaken. Wii is selling crazily well. No pressure for Nintendo to release any new hardware, despite the lack of horsepower. 360 and PS3 are again selling solidly. There's no pressure for either to push for new hardware- now new configurations like a 360Motion or PS3Waggle are far more probable. This generation, i think, will take its inspiration from the handheld market, slight revisions to hardware to renew hype and interest. Maybe we should discuss this in 2013.

As i recall, Geist's main issues were less than perfect framerate (easily sorted with Wii's boost in power) and some less than perfect FPS controls (again, easily fixed with IR aiming). There is no reason for Nintendo not to re-publish Geist as, at the very least, a New Play Control title. And i certainly hope they do.

Try it, my Sainsbury's usually stocks tripe, but recently they've stocked Overkill and obviously Deadly Creatures.
-
My local Sainsbury's has this for sale at £19.97 (an additional few pence discount (VAT reduction) is also applied at the tills). Quite the bargain, so its bagged.

Ok, so we've got plenty of Wii-makes, Wii-imaginations and Wii-releases. OK, so they're controversial, especially on a machine hyped as 'a new way to play'. But for a few moments, lets forget that controversy and embrace the Wii-make in an all new Wiishlist! What games would you want? A well remembered game you'd want to share with new gamers, a guilty pleasure worthy of a new lease of life?

Thats the magic number 7. I think you're probably right. Its a technical thing- if i recall correctly, wasn't Wavebird propriety wireless tech, while bluetooth is available to everyman and his dog? For those who don't read Gamecentral on Teletext, they're idly speculating that the redesign is for- third party playstation games on Virtual Console. Now, where did my internal flash go?

After full days shopping Sheila still buys the wrong size hat.

Nah, we've had the one game for this peripheral.

how do you work out 85%?

Isn't The Conduit said to be using M+? So, by the time i get to play The Conduit with M+, i.ll have completed the game at least 5 times and died thousands of time online.

sounds like 'transformers racing' to me.
-
What? NoA announce a release date with no details on the game.
-
Oh, no you didn't.
-
I worry that buyers may be put off games that use M+, the expense and confusion may mean these games fail to impact sales wise.

I spilt my Horlicks in my lap.

"Refreshing take on the horror genre"? On-rails it is.
-
I'm not sure if that was in reply to my post. If it was, i can't see how.

Over the last few years we've seen the start of that worrying trend. I honestly don't think creating an anticompetitive market is a good idea, do you? Firstly, in a market dominated by a monopoly, prices vary little, and when they do its still being managed. A single engine provider can set the level of technical support (something Denis Dyack has already alleged against Epic). A single provider could possibly place restriction on product (only licensing it to certain companies, or for particular genres/games) and prohibit 'adaptations' to their product (altering AI, adding new effects)- all resulting in a rather stagnant games market with a handful of genres, with a similar look and feel. All things we desperately need to avoid. You've said you're studying games development- but you've completely forgotten to factor in the economics of it (something it seems the development communtity is equally guilty of- and i certainly hope the next wave of developers are not being taught in that way). Put simply, we still need developers and publishers to show more financial restraint. Perhaps, choosing two smaller projects to share the financial risk, taking HVS's lead and having many small projects to balance the big risks. That does not necessarily mean more casual games/cheap shovelware.

The problem as i saw it was with the RPG to platform balance. The previous Paper Mario games were at heart a proper RPG with platform elements, but when reversed the RPG elements get in the way of the platforming. Super Paper Mario would've been a much better game by dumping the RPG, and concentrating on a puzzle platformer that the 2D to 3D mechanic really deserves to be.

I think you've completely missed the point of the game. Its a light gun game, and while you could argue its a point and click- since you do point and click- thats like arguing Metroid or Call of Duty have point and click elements simply because you 'point and click'. Is it too much to ask to consider on-rails shooters as a genre in their own right? Interesting that you've compare it to left4dead. Something like Overkill is point-centric- probably having more in common with Tetris than Left4Dead, and thats where the challenge and replay value lie. Some gamers will relish that point driven gameplay, others will not. Just because two games have zombies in, doesn't mean they can be compared.

Gun calibration please. Out of interest, does Umbrella Chronicles have calibration for gun shells?

Gutted. I was very much looking forward to this. Hopefully it'll come in due course.

The ONLY mention from Nintendo about a HD Wii was Miyamoto refering to Nintendo making a HD console 'one day'. Other than that there are rumours that Nintendo is showcasing a new HD console to developers. Very unlikely at this stage.
