Right, guys. I suggest you all look at Dante's post on "Whats Killing The Video Game Business. The fact is, along with the vast majority of publishers and developers, EA are feeling the pinch of rising development costs, and Wii is presenting itself as a more profitable alternative, factor in a quicker development cycle and ultimately a you've got faster cash flow for EA. Fact is, an on-rails game will require far less TIME, RESOURCES and MONEY to build than a full fledged 3D extravaganza. Yes, i'd have liked that extravaganza, but honestly, if its a choice between a quick cash-in baby-sitting or waggle-fest sports party game, or a quick cash-in on-rails Dead Space horror shooter, i know where my breads buttered. Bring it the fuck on EA. Scare me shitless.

IGN are reporting it as on-rails, Bingo!. Its worth bearing in mind that they're promising some new ideas, so hopefully they'll pay off. Still, it would have been nice to see a fully fledged, full 3D experience a la the original.

You can just hold the off button for 4 seconds. It should into full standby. Is your Flash Memory full? I found this when loading Animal Crossing fairly regularly, have since removed a fair few channels and it seems fine... Might just be co-incidence, since i can't see why it'd need access to the flash storage. Another possibility is jumping from channel to channel. Something i now avoid doing.

Hmm... I'm sure i paid no more than £40 for Goldeneye, Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, F-Zero X, and more. The only game i recall spending more than that was Turok (and my point was Turok was a great game).

Yes, there were a few exceptions, but most were within the £40 region. I'd wager my hat on it. Not that i own one.

You, Sir, you are wrong. Turok is a highlight of the N64. Nintendo seems to keep RRP consistent, NES, SNES, N64 and Gamecube RRP were usually £39.99, same as Wii (barring a few discount ranges).

Dyson, it makes perfect sense. Its not advocating developers start developing casual games per se, its saying smaller, cheaper, more projects- yes, casuals fall into this, but even core games- like Overkill or Portal can be made with a fraction of the budget of GTA, Assassins Creed or Resident Evil 5.

The team over at HVS have been taking critisism and comment from web forums and trade journalists to bolster and improve the product. At this point, i'm expecting high 80s from the press who 'get' Wii, 60-70 from those gimps who complain the Remote is "too wobbly".

What'll be interesting is to see how Overkill sells long term. Nintendo seem to have mastered the 'long sell', lets see if the harder Hardcore titles have legs too.

Lost is one of the few series' i've really kept up with, i absolutely love it. The current series on Sky One is turning out to be fantastic. Faraday has become one of my favourite characters.
