  1. All these governments, coming up with crazy ideas to beat the recession- waste of time. Sell everything with a peripheral controller and hey presto, economic boom.
  2. Is 5 crazy good games not enough to raise the profile of a series nowadays?! It'd be nice to have Metroid Prime and Echoes on the list for Europe.
  3. Eurogamer is reporting New Play Control Pikmin 2 will be on sale in the first half of 2009. Their article is not clear if this is a Europe or the States.
  4. But their wireless/mobile division don't. Would we see a restructure of Rare or Bungie in the Wii Forum?
  5. So, we've established that some restructuring is going on in THQ's Wireless division, and are being led to believe more 'restructuring' will be done in the future. Restructuring is occuring in 99.9% of industries at the moment, its really not news, but common sense. And this is in the Wii Discussion Forum, why? So far absolutely none of this information has any relevance to Wii - or indeed the home console market. With all due respect to the staff, if this had been posted by a forum member, it'd have been moved or locked by now.
  6. Because its the right thing to do. Off the top of my head, i can't think of a time IGN have reported- as fact- a false story, but please correct me if i'm wrong. The fact is that this site published an incorrect story as fact, no research, no fact gathering, no chance for the affected party to respond. I'd argue that its only prudent to humbly apologise for your mistakes (especially since i'm guessing that many of the staff have ambitions in the games industry).
  7. It may be prudent to offer an apology to THQ and their staff on the main site.
  8. But it would've proved common journalistic courtesy to have approached THQ and said 'we're about to print this story, would you like to comment?'.
  9. Egg. On. Face. What have we learned today, people? There are no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
  10. My guess is Tellyn's reporting from gossip/news/staff speculation from developer Juice in Warrington (has Tellyn ever mentioned he knows anyone from there?). The problem with any staff gossip is that its wildly blown out of proportion or as far from fact as possible. Its either the beginings of a merger/buyout (quite possible with the low stock price of THQ) or a few more developers, including Juice, are being closed. I can't see them just shutting up shop. Actually, you've raised a good point. Since this is rumour, far from substantiated, shouldn't both the headline on the main page and here in the forum state 'Rumour'... I'm just thinking of you guys, i really wouldn't want you to look like a bunch of gossips.
  11. Haven't Ubisoft teased of a buyout? That said, i can't see much value in THQ for Ubi though. Last year, EA were on the hunt for a big publisher, namely Rockstar. Could THQ be second best? And I'm sure Activision with their new found love of the annual update would relish the license heavy output of THQ. /speculation.
  12. There's got to be more to this story. A company of THQs size doesn't just stop working, stop being. I smell consolidation.
  13. Don't you mean bias against Nintendo? Bias towards would indicate they're positive towards Nintendo. Regardless, i've noticed Playr very rarely show Nintendo products and constantly promote Wii as a silly little party machine - quite surprising given usual host Rufus Hound is a big Nintendo fan (you'd think he'd at least try to push for more credible Nintendo items). Playr simply seems to pander to the 360 elite, leaving The Sun's gaming section to offer an approach with more journalistic integrity.
  14. Whats really interesting is that EA's contract with Speiberg was for 3 games, which as i recall were all announced. Does that mean one has been cancelled?
  15. The only thing i'm worried about in Pikmin is how they've incorporated the Cube's 'c' button groupings.
  16. With some great tech, licensed from either Factor 5 or High Voltage, Dead Space Wii could be a winner. I think we need that little bit of tech for it. But how, exactly, have we established its Dead Space?
  17. Do i need to know my walking routine?
  18. Lets be fair, installing unauthorised software will instantly void your guarantee. Thats a big negative, should you have a new Wii. Should you be out of warranty, Nintendo still carry out some repairs free- at least thats my experience- very doubtful you'd get that if HB is installed. It seems when there's a compulsory update from Nintendo, there's some cocking about to do, reinstalling. I'd guess you'll also run the risk of dodgy applications fudging your Wii. Lets not trivialise HomeBrew, for some kid to stumble on these pages and end up bricking their Wii good an' proper.
  19. Its so impressive how they got the entire Playstation install base to sign that petition. Out of interest, where is (Wii) MH3 petition?
  20. Certainly, if enough Wii games remain exclusive to Japan, i'll import- and learn Japanese. But, i'm more likely to buy a Japanese Wii than have the HB channel.
  21. How would this compare to other 'bring a game to us' petitions?
  22. what is it with women and soap opera? I just don't get it. I could almost understand watching one soap, being loyal to it, but christ, how many do they need- hollyoaks, emmadale, eastenders, coronation street, home and away, neighbours. Thats 3 hours a night.
  23. you are a sadist. an evil sadist. Nasty wasty man.
  24. Its so saddening when a Pikmin dies- especiall by drowning.
