picked this up earlier- thanks tellyn. A cracking little game, and at £12 an absolute bargain.

I'm not so sure actually. With branding the range with 'Play on Wii' and 'New Play Control' it seems they're aiming for the new casual market, much like the success they've had with Touch Generations (although, it seems a poor choice of phrase). Obviously, the core will lap them up but i think Nintendo is pitching to the new audience. Why not Pikmin, out of interest. I admit the sequel improves the formula, but the original Pikmin is a true masterpiece, surely?

If it weren't for the fact i'd drank far too much tonight (hence my appalling Mario Kart results), i'd be down at ASDA now (that said, our ASDA is a tiny store, and not open 24 hours). Hopefully, tiny store ASDA won't let me down with shite stock tomorrow.

Tellyn, you are De Man.

online or in-store

I still need to pick this up, it looks great. With a busy Q1, it may have to wait.
-
After watching that, i've got a feeling we'll never see it in Europe. But I hope we do, it looks sublime.
-
Wow. 7575 signatories so far. Hopefully, publishers will take note.
-
I just feel it lacks dynamism, and sparkle. I've not seen much in the way of flash - particle effects, dynamic lighting etc (ah, those circle shadows...). However, as i say, this is a must buy.
-
i'm not sure the visuals are that good, but the overall package, so far, is a must have.
-
This should be no surprise, if in-store staff knowledge is anything to go by.

n-Space were contracted to produce second party software- ie Geist. Second party status can be given for single projects- Namco with Starfox Armada, Sega with F-Zero GX are other examples of this. Nintendo may or may not hold stock in a second party.

There's a crowd who scream and rant "get some decent games on Wii", but yet fail to put passion behind new products- and thats offensive.
-
"lol". I think you're well off the mark. Few developers are building their own engine nowadays, Winter could've been running off a revised engine from Geist, or any number of n-Space titles, the engine could've been bought in or anything. You just don't know- and neither do i. However, whats sparked my interest is the open ended gameplay - how do i keep warm? How do i use this broomstick to kill this beast. Thats something i've not seen on Wii. Regardless of how you feel about A DEMO, should'nt you be supporting development teams who are taking risks and not producing cash-in party games? Or, should i cease my rant and let you wonder off and play Baby Sitting Sports Waggle Party? I suspect your next post in the Ubisoft thread will not be a positive one, so why can't you be positive about new IP designed with the core gamer in mind. If Winter even gets publisher support, it still has at least 18 months development to it and thats plenty of time to refine what we've seen so far.

Amazon are selling Pikmin for £24.99. Marvsllous.
-
Jamba, This is a few weeks work by a handful of people- i can't agree with your comments about it looking 'ropey'. Thats like saying the first 5 minutes of Alien is boring. Stupid argument, really. This shows loads of potential, i'm really impressed. Hopefully, this expose will persuade a publisher to supporting it- in the same way IGN's initial unveilling of The Conduit helped find a home for that game.
-
i.'d have been happy with these costing £24.99- that was the ceiling point for me. As it stands, i'm doubting these purchases. However, a £19.99 price tag, would've put them in direct price competition with the vast majority of party-crap on Wii- and possibly earn better sales figures (if price is a major factor in Casual purchases)

Yet again, Nintendo shaft Europe. They're budget titles in Japan FFS.
-
has the date been confirmed yet?
-
Nintendo still own stock in Silicon Knights. I highly doubt they'll allow their investment to go down the crapper.
-
why? They seem number like. And within my expectations.

Good luck on that one. Seriously, Galaxy is worth the £30 you'd spend on it. Yes, Metroid Prime 3 is a standout title for Wii. Absolutely sublime. Can't wait to play through the first two when they're Wii-ified.

Red Faction:B.E.A.S.T. (cancelled Wii game)
david.dakota replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I've got to agree, i'm bored shitless with generic bald space marines and i've not played any. However, this type of game would speak volumes to fans of generic bald space marines. -
I think to be fair, the PSP and Wii install base outside of Japan is probably comparable, so thats not a valuable argument. *waits for someone to shoot me down with sales figures* However, with the right kind of marketing- and perhaps a more western name- MH3 could prove a hit.

I think developers simply pander to the unititiated, those who buy into products based on adverts containing footage 'representitive of ingame visuals', the exciting marketing gibbons on the reverse of the box, what their mate says is brilliant, and who wouldn't know the term framerate if it came and shat on their 360.
