1. I can see your point about the Kongs but you can't be serious about King K. Rool I've always thought he made a great villain, especially when in the pirate outfit Though I can indeed see the similarities between him and Bowser. I've always yearned for K. Rool in Smash Bros. Then ultimate face off between lizard/crocodile beast things could then finally take place.
2. I disagree (apart from the obvious ones like... Swanky Kong *Shudders*) because Rare pretty much created the Donkey Kong universe. Before then what was there other than a building site? I liked the vast majority, they all had a certain charm about them. Especially Engarde - What a sword fish. He also has the best theme music ever
3. I don't know why this only just occured to me but... this will be the first Smash Bros. I have to play without a GameCube remote I can't imagine pulling off charged attacks with the slide pad will work all that well, my analogue stick has taken quite a beating over the years! And I agree with @Retro_Link - I'll be staying away from any information regarding this title as I was so engrossed in the Smash Bros Dojo that it ruined a lot of the surprises for Brawl.
4. I've been having a great time playing through this again, I'd forgotten just how good it was and now the wait for Sonic Generations seems even longer. I have to say the 'food land' (I can't remember the actual name :P) is my favorite, blistering around at crazy speeds, popcorn flying all over the place. I've just made it to Planet Wisp, the music is just so... majestic.
5. I was such a huge fan of DKC 1 & 2 - I really do think the levels, atmosphere and gameplay were great but... I may be blinded by nostalgia. Still, the fact I loved the series so much and that this was meant to be a 'return' is what angered me the most. If this had have been Jungle Beat 2 then I wouldn't have cared but the name suggested it was a return to Donkey Kong Country. In this 'return' the vast majority of characters weren't included, huge aspects of the old games like animal buddies (of which 1 was included in this) and underwater levels were forgotten and the music (even the remixes) weren't anywhere near the quality of the SNES titles, despite the obvious advantages of MP3 quality sound. And c'mon, SHAKE TO ROLL?! Jesus. Fucking. Christ. This isn't 2007, Retro should have clearly seen this as a mistake. It was just one disappointment after another. Alas, this is merely my opinion and as I have been shot down for this same opinion many times before I will cower in the corner and accept that Retro Studios took the series in the right direction and that I'm stuck in the 90's :p (Which really is true as my pile of Retro Gamer magazines will tell you).
6. We didn't use the actual term friend-date, merely "hey we should go on a date soon". Maybe it's my ridiculous use of American phrases (I watched far too much American tv as a child). It's quite confusing actually, heck, maybe I confuse people when I say it :p I'm gonna start saying "lets hang out" instead.
7. @darksnowman - I couldn't have said it better myself. For every great level there were 5 completely dull, uninspired or generally average levels to drag myself through.
8. He sounds like the kind of guy that loves attention so the fact that you don't care anymore is probably killing him, you couldn't have done a better move really! _____ Nothing much has happened with me lately in the whole relationship field (though maybe 'field' should be re-phrased to small patch of grass) but I'm not all too woeful as I have quite enjoyed the last few months of being a free Pidgey. Alas, a person I used to get on very well with is coming back in a few weeks so we have both agreed to meet up for a date. We actually mean friend date, for the record :p Though I might just test the waters, see if hes been seeing anyone lately and such, maybe drop a few hints, see what happens. If not, well... I haven't started Xenoblade yet. Case solved.
9. Sorry I'm about 3 pages late but... I thought I was the only one who had to constantly press the power button too :P I thought maybe I wasn't pushing it in properly or I was just being impatient for it to start up. My top screen always has an imprint of the whole botton screen and slide pad. It's so annoying, luckily though it does just wipe off and hasn't scratched yet. And my hinge is already sounding terrible, it's really squeaky - I'm almost scared to open it too fast.
10. I used to love this game but got rid of it, I saw it on Play.com for a mere £11 though and couldn't resist! I can't wait to get back into this and yeah, the underwater levels were some of my favourites. I love the menu music to planet Wisp too, so calming.
11. That pizza looks amazing I used to make my own pizza all the time but I haven't done it for ages, I'll have to try it again soon!
12. Sounds good to me, Oshawott has to be one of my favourite Pokémon of this generation. I can't wait to play this in multiplayer, I've always thought a Mario Party style Pokémon game would be incredible as me and my friends used to love playing the minigames on Pokémon Stadium (more so than the main game).
13. I don't think they need to rebrand the 3DS now, it will just take some time to get established. The GameBoy Color and Advance managed it.
14. Yes!! I loved the first one (despite how easy it was) so I shall definitely be picking this up. I remember when I dashed into Oddish and sent him flying, I thought it was hilarious until I approached him afterwards and realized he was crying. I'd never felt so guilty or depressed in my entire life.
15. 'Cause clean is better than dirty and dirties meaner than clean!
16. These are awesome, Nintendo should take note.
17. I wasn't in the mood for work today with my current bad knee but tried to just get on with it. I'd just started and noticed a fly around some of the crisps, I remove the bag of crisps and BAM! About 20 fruit flys go all up in my face and I see a bag of mouldy fruit It smelt so bad, like really bad onion, and it has seeped all over the shelf. I spent a good hour getting rid of the smell whilst customers around me kept complaining about how awful the stench was, like I wouldn't have noticed. It was ReZdiculous. On the plus side though, I got a free tango.
18. It appears Steve Jobs has stepped down as Apple CEO and whilst he gave no reason it is widely believed that it is because of his battle with medical problems over the past seven years. The Guardian: "He was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer of the pancreas in 2003 and operated on in July 2004. Although he returned to work within a few months, in April 2009 he received a liver transplant. Medical observers suggested that the long-term effects of the required autoimmune drugs could mean that the cancer would return" Jobs said: "I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come." Full article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2011/aug/25/jobs-quits-apple
19. I used to hate it when people assumed art was easy. Until they're given a project and end up having to do the final piece in a few (very long, laregly sleepless) days they won't understand. Then again, if I organized my time better, I wouldn't have ended up in such situations :p
20. They also turned Wii logo on its side. Other than that it looks identical. I'd like to see if there's any changes to the actual Wii menu or anything other than the lack of GameCube support
21. I got my first ever street pass today, the excitement running through my veins was so intense I thought I was going to pass out. I'd never played Street Pass Quest so that was kinda fun, if short lived with my street pass and my Mii. It's awesome though, got a Mario hat and everything. I'll definately be taking my 3DS around with me more often.
22. I got my (Aqua blue) 3DS on Friday with Ocarina of Time for £130! I'm blown away so far. So many features to get through! The only gripe I have is the low quality camera, it's awesome taking 3D photos but disappointing that they are so grainy. AR games are awesome though, I love the AR golf game, really impressed me. Face Raiders is also a whole lot of fun whilst Pokédex 3D and Nintendo Video are the complete opposite and pretty rubbish :p I also noticed the lack of messaging. I thought it was me being stupid and assumed I was missing something until I came on here to see that you actually can't message friends. Either way, I am really enjoying the 3DS so far and the depth in Ocarina Of Time is just amazing - I've also never been so impressed by textures, it's a huge improvement over those pixellated hills of Super Mario 64 DS. Bring on MK7!
23. I'm terrible on these forums, I can't even embed a YouTube video :p Congratulations anyway!
24. I was put on hold for a ridiculous amount of time so as I was waiting I drew my rage in the form of an angry monkey. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
25. I have already played Ocarina which is the only thing putting me off. I was quite tempted by Pilot Wings but was scared it would be too similar to the flying sections on 'Sports Resort but you all seem quite keen on the game so I might end up getting that instead.
