All-new PlayStation Plus: Premium / Deluxe | Extra | Essential
Hero-of-Time replied to Julius's topic in Other Consoles
I see Jak & Daxter does indeed come with a new trophy list. That's my evening sorted. I can't wait to play through it again. -
I look forward to Rotta effing and blinding at his co-workers.

One for @nekunando today. Wave Race 64 just got added.

Yeah, the Spyro games were far more accessible than the Crash ones. More fun too. Once again proving that Insomniac Games>>>>>Naughty Dog. It's so sad these remakes didn't lead to a new game. Activision suck.

Fired this up over the weekend and first impressions are that the game is pretty bad. I've only played a few hours and I'm already sick of the stealth missions. I've had one where I got sent back to the start if I got spotted, which I did. I thought they were going to patch this out? In another mission I got seen by some enemies and so I decided to try and fight my way out of the situation. Turns out the enemies just kept respawning. Felt like I was playing an old CoD game on Veteran where you would slowly inch forwards as a stream of enemies would constantly spawn on you. I've also had the game hard crash on me twice now, forcing me to restart the mission. Another thing that is annoying is trying to find my way through the cities. Maybe I'm just getting old and lazy but I hate trying to find my own way and would much prefer open world games to have marker/line to follow if you highlight where you want to go, just like one of the Fable games done all those years ago. Yeah, haven't enjoyed my time on it at all. Doesn't help that the MC sucks and the story isn't really that compelling either.

I have no idea what @drahkon is talking about but he seems happy. So many iconic games and memories.

Spurs complete collapse again. Cracking game though. Chelsea are legit, @Julius.

Finished Detective Pikachu Returns today. Awful game. The thing just doesn't know when to shut up. Also, it's pretty annoying when you know the culprit or what to do next but you can't just call the person out or skip a step. You are forced to go through each and every boring step. It's up there with the Phoenix Wright Trilogy as the worst/most boring game I've played this year. Speaking of disappointing games... After enjoying RCG, I picked this up in the recent sale. I was hoping for a kinda demake of RCG but what I got was a very basic brawler that lacked real hook. Glad I didn't play full price. I also played through Mercs on the NSO service. Fun game, if a little short. I would have been fuming if I got this as a kid. Paying £50+ for a game that's about an hour long. Yikes. It was a decent try at porting an arcade game to the Mega Drive but it runs like garbage when things get a little frantic on screen.

Sonic x Shadow Generations (25th October 2024)
Hero-of-Time replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
All done. Really enjoyed my time with the game. Certainly worthy of the high praise some outlets gave it. The hub in Shadow's side of things was initially a little hard to navigate but once I got more abilities to use the are became much easier to traverse. I loved earning the S ranks in Shadow's stages. Unlike the base Sonic Generations game, this was all about getting a high score and fast time. This means you really have to learn the ins and outs of each level and pretty much play through each of them perfectly. Losing too many rings or too much time will ultimately cost you a run. The collectibles in Shadow's hub were a bit of a pain. If it not for various guides kicking about on the internet I doubt I would have been able to find them all, especially when certain ones don't even get flagged up as collected or appear on the map. Last November I platinumed Sonic Superstars and the year before that it was Sonic Frontiers. Its getting to be a tradition to play a Sonic game during the Nov/Dec period. -
Just read a good piece over on The Guardian website about Starmer's new milestones, the rise of more right wing governments across the world and the danger of it happening over here in the UK. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/dec/06/labour-government-keir-starmer-nigel-farage The Biden example is a good one. He done a lot of good but unless people see the impact in their own lives, they aren't really going to care, hence them turning to Trump. This is the challenge Labour have at the moment. Prices continue to rise, waiting lists continue to get longer, jobs are being lost as comapnies close their doors and the number of homeless people keeps going up. People need to see some kind of change or result with these issues before they start caring about things like climate change, foreign policies etc. I'm still not sure how Starmer is even going to go about making these milestones happen.

News of the crash just popped up on Soccer Saturday. It's not sounding good.

Yeah, Prince of Persia was great. I imagine it won't be on many best of 2024 lists due to it being released so early in the year and being smothered by the more recent games.

Sonic x Shadow Generations (25th October 2024)
Hero-of-Time replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Shadow's hub world stuff sucks. I enjoyed the Generations hub world because it is 2D and easy to navigate. Shadow's is a 3D open world mess and I've not even begun to search for all the collectibles hidden around the area, which will no doubt cause more frustration. Ugh. -
Rumours are circulating that this getting a HD port on the Switch next year. Makes sense, it's the end of the console's life and that means a Kirby game must be released for such an occasion.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary, Famitsu asked readers to vote for their favourite PS games. Quality list. The inclusion of FFX, FFVIII, MGS3, Kingdom Hearts 2, Wild Arms, MH World and MH Unite pleases me. MH Unite is the best of the classic MH games and I'm not surprised it was ranked so high by Japanese players.
-
Love it when this arrives but I don't like how they do it in early December. I get a lot of gaming done over the Christmas period and would prefer for that to be included. Ah, well. After going for the platinum, I guarantee Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth will be the top spot for longest time spent on a game this year. Exoprimal will probably get the second spot.

The Great Developer Massacre of 2023-2024 (and onwards?)
Hero-of-Time replied to Dcubed's topic in General Gaming Discussion
More layoffs at Ubisoft. -
I have no idea what he was even doing. I mean, he went to go for the ball and then ended up not even jumping for it anyway. Still, we were garbage and didn't really deserve the win. I think the team just looked absolutely exhausted. Makes sense given we went full throttle against both Real Madrid and Man City last week. Our defence was a shambles, with both Gomes and Quansah looking really out of place. It's a shame Bradley got injured during the Madrid match. He has been amazing in recent weeks and is a great alternative to using TAA.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership (7th November 2024)
Hero-of-Time replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'm disappointed the question wasn't asked as to why they decided to pad the game out the way they did. Yes, I'm still crawling my way through it, although I have put it to one side and had a break to play Detective Pikachu Returns which turns out is even worse. I can't catch a break on my Switch. -
Terrible performance from Pool last night. The first half is the worst I've seen us play in a long time and we were lucky to get a point. Everyone keeps talking about City, Pool and Arsenal for the title but Chelsea and silently going about their business and are certainly a contender.

It's finally done. I essentially finished this in August but there was one final trophy I still needed. This required me to get 100k dinosaur kills. I think I was sitting on around 20k when the credits rolled and so it's been a hell of a grind getting this. During this grind I finally got to play through the Monster Hunter event. This certainly helped with my kill count as you get swarmed by Velociprey. Fighting Rathalos in the arena was a very fitting battle. Just like MH, you could even smash parts of its body and cut off its tail. Fun game and one that I'm surprised hasn't hit PS+ yet, if only to boost the online users.
