  1. Work noght out. Lot's of scotch. Boss terrifyingly in need of positive reinforcement. Home with cheeseburger, mostly angry about JEV not having a seat confirmed for 2015. No spell correction used in this post, thank you.
  2. I've gotten back and started sinking deeper into it recently and I'll tell you, it's a tough galaxy out there. Success has a lot more to do with how long you're prepared to stick with it rather than how many raw hours per day/week. You will struggle, you will suffer, you will be repeatedly beaten and robbed. You've got to be slightly mad to stick at it. But once you get hooked up with a good base of people and learn it's systems, nuances, and economic currents, the universe can be yours. That trailer does not lie.
  3. Out in New Eden, on patrol with the fleet.
  4. I can't believe I forgot which presents spaceships in a manner normally reserved for porn movies with billion dollar budgets. The 2nd one is their most recent and coincidentally features chat from the Alliance & Coalition I'm part of (Brave Newbies & Test, sister corps in the BRAVE Alliance - part of the HERO Coalition.)
  5. I can't get Christmas or New Year's off because "too many people are taking holiday (read: "The other supervisor is taking holiday and I know we're supposed to have a 3rd but I can't be bothered to get it sorted").
  6. He sort of has to, there's only two in the village.
  7. Unfortunately I'll be working while the race is on but at least I can have nap before hitting up iPlayer and having my heart attack then. Lewis never just fails, it's either an utter catastrophe or nothing.
  8. Oh, Seb. Didn't realise he was bartending. Tell him I said hi.
  9. So which cousin was it (if you can remember)? I have a feeling a sober witness may reveal more about the night.
  10. Two spring to mind - the first is the Mass Effect 2 launch trailer which is just a superb bit of editing up and down. The other is the debut teaser for Mirror's Edge. It's super simple but it immediately catches you with it's bright crisp visuals promising something totally new.
  11. I'm pretty sure he has it bookmarked.
  12. Bah, failed my 2nd try at the driving test. Pulled out in front of someone who never indicated going around a roundabout. Only 3 minor faults besides. Extremely irritating.
  13. Today's retail highlights: The only other colleague in store had a ligament injury and could barely do anything beyond the till. The man who had to be scanned through multiple times because it wouldn't let him use contactless the first few times and he didn't know his pin number. The woman demanding a refund for obscure international home-phone credit voucher because she sent her 5-year old to get it and he got the wrong one. The man who somehow spilled a sticky toffee pudding on his cheap-shit coat and demanded to know "where to send the bill" + threats and insults! The shoplifter who made off with quite a lot of cheese again. #venting
  14. So glad I waited for the next-gen version.
  15. Had just a good day today. Saw a good movie (Book Of Life, highly recommended) cleaned the flat, good karate lesson, now drinking a good beer. Just goodness all around.
  16. This LG set would be my recommendation for your criteria (though I wouldn't get it for myself because there's an almost identical model for £60 less and I don't mind slumming it with just 2 HDMI ports ). Reviewers seem pretty ecstatic about it's response times, especially in it's game-mode.
  17. I will add that I personally wouldn't go for a Sony brand TV as I find for the price you can get a bigger TV with the same functions & image quality from other big brands like Panasonic or LG, even compared to the sale price. TBH even budget-brand TVs are solid enough these days thanks to the ubiquity of generic panel & digital component manufacture.
  18. It's on my list of games to buy at some point in the future when I have a PS4 and I can get it for about £20. Honestly I never expected to be this interested in a CoD game for a long time.
  19. If I didn't already have one I'd get a 1080p TV just to make the most of modern broadcast & streaming standards, to be honest.
  20. Yes, but are you prepared to make sure Monday night never happens?
  21. Happy Burthday Mahtens. Sorry I didn't get you anything, I'll make it up to later... sometime... somehow. =p

  22. Literally anything you post here now I read it in the voice of Swiss Tony.
  23. Having watched the crash footage I feel like I've had a niggling doubt about Suzuka confirmed - it's a great track but the gravel traps and catch areas are woefully insufficient for modern F1 machinery and it needs updating. A decent sized gravel trap or run-off area, like what you would expect from a modern-built circuit, would have almost certainly saved Bianchi from his terrible injuries in the same circumstances.
  24. I think Alonso & Vettel might be thinking along similar lines, albeit in different directions - Vettel's achieved everything he wants with Red Bull and is ready to start somewhere new while Alonso might feel he has unfinished business with Mclaren, even if it ended in bad blood before. Also, money.
  25. Big news: Alonso is expected to confirmed as out of Ferrari for 2015. The announcement could be soon after the Japanese GP. Suggestions are that Vettel is expected to be confirmed to replace him at some point over the next two weeks.
