Not looking all that polished, no. Although the gameplay does seem to be pretty arcadey, which may actually be a good thing; what with many 3rd person shooters taking themselves far too seriously these says. But if the physics are as advanced as they're touting them, I'm more than happy to overlook some murky backgrounds.

People are moaning about art direction and graphics and it's becoming tiresome. If you're the sort of person that looks at this and then goes off to play Call of Duty 4 or Halo on a 360, fine. But please realise that many many many people don't own 360s, and can fully appreciate what HVS are doing with this. The comparison keeps being made: when Halo came out, the Xbox was starved dry of any decent FPS effort, while the PC crowd were laughing away on their Half-Lifes, etc. Retrospectively, people realise that Halo didn't really bring anything at all new to the table. So why can't this be the same?

After Red Steel, I don't blame people for being skeptical when it comes to this. But a big reassurance is that as soon as the press got hands on with the aformentioned game, the alarm bells rungs instantaneously. Impressions for The Conduit have been very positive, especially in the graphics department. I know people are dubbing this one of Wii's best looking game, and I hear a lot of journalists do get fooled into thinking it's a 360 game going on first looks (that isn't bullshit, by the way. It's completely true).

Have we, or are we about to, enter a new Cold War?
D_prOdigy replied to Charlie's topic in General Chit Chat
I think media coverage does slightly balloon the worry of frosty foreign relations. Let's say hypothetically Russia does supply Iran; it would still take something incredibly serious to actually ecalate anything. It'd take so much more effort for western powers to take action than it would for them to just sit back. Look at Georgia: it was clear that the US weren't prepeared to lift a finger to either aid Georgia or punish Russia. I don't think we're entering something akin to the Cold War; because we realise that these days, "unnecessary" wars are so expensive. -
With the dominence of online buying these days, I honestly don't see it being something anyone needs. Example: Mario Kart Wii is continuing to sell millions... that is why the price has been kept at its standard RRP. But look at something like No More Heroes - that game wouldn't be on such a list, but the beauty is we're getting prices as low as £15 online.
-
I may have to join you there. I still can't quite get my head around the fact that not only is it the only online FPS on Wii, but it also has a reportedly fantastic 32 player online system. It's floating around £15-ish online over here, and it was one of those games I almost got when it came out. Once I've bought my laptop, and the dust settles on my financial situation, I'll almost certainly pick it up.

Right team. We'll be having an interview with the lovely chaps at RK very shortly, but what do YOU, the reader, want to know from them? Remember, they're next DS game Moon is almost complete and nearing release, so they'll sure be plenty of development-related anecdotes fresh in their minds. Don't be too shy to squeeze them about their Wii game, either. So post your questions below!

I guess the first holiday I can remember is Ibiza, 96, just after I'd turned 4. memories include a LOT of snails, posing for a caricature, staying at a childrens centre to give the parents a break... and I have vague memories of kicking a rabbit when thinking it was some sort of football variant.

Who exactly was giving that feedback?

The Last Nice Thing That Somebody Said About You
D_prOdigy replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
The last nice thing was probably the only nice thing that ever gets said about me... "nice" and "funny". But I guess having a hopelessly mediocre demeanor means that I have no real enemiesI've had them all killed, of course. -
http://www.n-europe.com/news.php?nid=12254 Is it another example of a big boy gobbling up a company when they're down? Or is this one different, with some genuine help intended?

Madden Wii is non-comparable to Tiger Wii. EA went all out on their lead SKUs becasue it was some sort of anniversary for the series. As a result, the 360 version is a no-brainer buy (although Madden 09 Wii is still the best Wii Madden if that's your only option). As for Tiger, the Wii version is simply the best version available. Tiger on Wii has been slowly improving over the years, and this was finally the year where EA nailed the controls. So unless anyone has some sort of "thing" against near-flawless motion-controlling golf, the Tiger 09 on Wii is the Tiger to buy.

I'm pretty sure it is a Wii exclusive - when Jools talked about their next game on his blog, he did refer to it as "Wii game".

This thread is good timing: My Sixth Form who just got off the phone to me asking me to drop philiosophy because it's full. I don't care what I "prioritised my subjects"... I'm not having a change of course 3 fucking days before term starts. Hopefully it'll grind down to comparing English GCSEs, then this boy will rise well above the less intelligent chaff.

Someone help me - Week 2, Day 7: The mother-freaking Green Pig at Shibuya Main Store - It's the one that instantly runs away after the first hit. Immobility and freeze attacks don't work... What the hell am I supposed to do???? EDIT: Emergency over. I've been informed by a TWEWY expert how to complete this task. -
*Infinite: * I've finally met someone in life who appreciates the muther-trucking masterpiece that is Opposing Force Anyway, Gearbox could make it intersting. The awesome strategy elements in BiA makes it probably the best WW2 shooter out there, so hypothetically, they could do what (I felt) Bungie failed to do with Halo 3 and really make the series feel fresh again.
