My mum once said/says that she always thought mixed-race people were more beautiful. Which is a very fragile statement, as "mixed-race" means many different things/combinations. Though what I really think she finds so beautiful is white mixed with other skin "colours".

That first picture looks really professional..like an album cover or something. Lovely.

I started, but it was too long at the time. I'll finish it at some point.

On a tangent/off-topic, this made me consider something.. I never read poems people post online, because I never feel I can really get them. I don't think I have a firm enough grasp of how to judge poetry that isn't fucking Keats or whatever. I also don't think I LIKE poetry all that much. I enjoyed some of the classic poets I studied at school, but I suppose they're classic for a reason? So I just refrain from judging any poems people write...sometimes they come across as pretend or something (that's the wrong word...that sounds negative...it's like, they feel forced? Poetry as a whole I think to me, especially if I "know" the person. I can't link the two personalites together - the person I know, and how they express stuff in poetry, it strikes me as false, even though it probably isn't), but then I actually think that feeling is just the feeling I feel everytime I try and write something that sounds decent. If it sounds vaguely normal or pedestrian I just hate it instantly (hence me scrapping what I wrote for this). I really respect people who can actually churn out a nice poem that they're happy with, and this thread made me think about why I almost never read them/comment on them. This post has probably just insulted people, which is isn't meant to.

Lilo & Stitch So good, hadn't seen it in years. Still really sad (one of the saddest Disney animated films), I could feel the trace of wetness behind one eye. The alien aspect works, but it kinda detracts from how stunning the main story is. 8.8/10

She's effectively dead, and even if she turns up in 11 years like that guy in America recently, it's not like it'll affect anyone but the McCann's. Very sad, but I agree with the fact that it takes away coverage of other missing persons, and seems "unfair".

Yeah, I remeber finding When Doves Cry really jarring when I first heard it when I got the album years ago. It's definitely the most "solid" Prince album in that it balances inventiveness with digestability. It's high-points are so high.

He also unforgivably wrote "Amoung", but I didn't want to be rude and point that and "croud" out.

You should try and get a hold of Ruby Blue too, it's NOTHING like Overpowered at all, it's really awesome actually (in a different way). More interesting. But Overpowered is so good.

All of Arrested Development Season 1 Second run-through, this time on clear DVD. So fucking amazing. Seriously...this needs to be even more famously great than it already is. "Maybe we should kiss again to teach them a lesson about obvious?" *Maeby is stunned/disgusted*- 3920 replies

Roisin Murphy's new song is on her MySpace. It sounds like a mix of her first and second album, but not as good as either. I kinda hate the lyrics. And it kinda takes away from how stunning 'Oral Fixation" is as an album title for Shakira.

Oh the bump has loads of connotations, obviously. But then I had a word count to keep to. :p Yeah, if she's ever exhibiting anywhere near you, go see it, it needs to be seen, imo. She did her first retrospective up here in Edinburgh, dunno if she'll do another for 20 years or so!

I knew a girl named Nikki I guess you could say she was a sex fiend. I met her in a hotel lobby Masturbating with a magazine. She said "How'd U like 2 waste some time?" And I could not resist When I saw little Nikki Grind

Avvie, dunno who it is, not great either way. 5/10 Sig. n/a -
Well, I think both words can be applied to both, but having studied her work in-depth for a good while earlier this year/last year, I really get the emotion and feeling from her work. her work is basically an extension of herself. It's all about her, and it's highly uncompromising. I love it, though it's hard-going. I wrote about that roller-coaster, I love it. Let me dig up what I wrote.. (Love how "school essay" that is, reading it back.)

I spent half an hour writing a story from the perspective of a Lamp-post on hallowe-en, but it was an obvious B-Side, and needed to be culled. I might rewrite it at some point, but I hate my writing skills. I only like criticising others.

That Mumford song would be far better just as an instrumental. I found the voice and lyrics distracting from how nice the actual music was. --- For Stuwii/any Muse fans, the recently turned up song not included on Resistance, Soaked, has been given to Adam Lambert (someone from American Idol) for his debut album. I'll let that mull.

Just to lower the tone of the musical discussion... While Cheryl Cole's album isn't particularly great, I do like the title track, it's peculiarly distant and spooky, which I really like. It has a tremendous atmosphere, considering that were it a standard electro-banger, the lyrics would probably be boring/standard. But it's quite nice and tense almost. A bit sad? I also like Happy Hour for being the only other catchy song apart from FFTL.
