Funny Games (2007) Thought this was fucking amazing. Stunning (not an overuse here) direction and poignant use of camera shots, and I was just shaking, cryng etc. throughout. It's so unnerving cause it literally involved you the viewer in such a horrific situation, which, normally, relegated to film, you could sort of box up and hope it never happens in real life. Brilliant, and great performances from all, especially Naomi Watts. The one scene which must have been 8 minutes or something where the camera moves along to the left once, of her "struggle" was "!!!!". 9/10 Purple Rain This was awful. A genuinely awful film. The music was obviously AMAZING, but there's a reason the album is so famous, and the film isn't. Most of the dramatic bits were just funny, and the pacing was abominable, as was most of the acting. But seeing Prince perform on stage is quite an experience, so those bits were good. Loved the weird kick-flip thing he does with the mic stand in Darling Nikki. But yeah, just buy the album and pretend the film doesn't exist. 3/10

Went with a friend to get a Hallowe'en party costume for tonight (late I know) but I never realised the decent ones were like £30 - £50. So might have to just be a jack wills idiot girl again. Or something similar.

Sainthood by Teege and Saer arrived, just importing now. Shaking, weeping etc. Listening to Come by Prince, and it's really "...". Nice to have on in the background, but I do know that it basically an album the record company released without any input from him or something. I'm distressed when songs are needlessly long. The title track (and first track on the album) is 12 minutes for no reason. And it's unsettling that I'm not sure in what respect he's referring to "come".

Pretty sure that's the only way to legally get it, big marketing ploy so you end up buying another compilation album.

I don't believe This Is It will be any good. I just don't. Was he anywhere near his peak fitness-wise? I would assume not, and I assumed he'd just mime most of the concert anyway... I think I'd rather they'd done that original plan of doing a strange tribute concert that would mirror how the actual show would have been.

My piece for fashion week at college was awful, when it sould have been good, but I seem to not get on with the concet of design, despite liking it. It looked like I had a mutated red PVC squid on my head. That or specialist sex gear. Went out tonight to meet one of my besties down from uini and meet up with others to watch the fireworks from the top Calton hill. We were really late, so everyone (of our friends) had goen ,but we had such an adventure going through a bit of town that we'd never been to before, could be from colonial times or something. Then came home and played Brawl for hours. Great. While waiting on a bench in the literal centre of town, I saw a really stereotypical pair of thugs haul an old man behind a statue (stereotypical in that they had toothpicks in their mouths and flat caps, like something from Batman/the 40's) and I was silently screaming. I daren't look what they were doing, but I saw shaking. I just kept listening to Batdance. Then suddenly all 3 men..fell out from behind the statue and me and the other girl on my bench bolted so quickly. Also put through a minor mental ringer seeing someone I knew in town randomly. All these tapes in my head are spinning round, keeping my vibe down.

I've not listened to any of his albums in full except his newest, but the singles have never grabbed me immensely (thought still better than 90% of the crap his peers/contemporaries put out). You;ve reminded me to actually get around to listen to his stuff.

Maybe it's just true-to-life, and the guy handing it over actually has 4 other suitcases containing the rets of the armour beside him? A normal-size suitcase would only fit that much of the amrour in anyway.

Not if she was told over and over that her parents told her captors that they had to look after her, they were her new parents etc etc. After a while she'd get used to it. She was 3, and impressionable.

I just bought Gold Digger by Kanye West. Realised I never owned it, despite my love for it. One of the funkiest songs I've ever heard. Not a HUGE fan of his other stuff except his last album, but how can anyone not start moving/dancing/gyrating to this song?

I need a haircut, but I daren't have short-short hair. But my hair isn't straight or curly, it's just stray-like, so having it long always looks awful. But my face is actually hideous when I have really short hair, so I like a happy medium. I'm thinking what Dan's hair is/used ot be like.

I love how clean a design that is. And how Prince is great at the end. Madonna's looks shit and I feel she shouldn't really be there. EDIT: Obviously Liz Phair and PJ Harvey don't have logos. Which they don't, so it makes sense they aren't here.

It's nice symbol to change your name to, if you felt the urge. I just love the first line of this album; Good mornin' ladies and gennelmen, boys and mother-fucking girls. This is your captain with no name speaking, and I'm here to rock your world. It pleases me that at least he makes little bit of fun about his lack of a name.

£8 I heard it's best of his stuff from the 90's, and I like it better than Diamonds & Pearls. Loving Pussy Control atm. A worthwhile purchase.

My friend and I just had our own whispered commentary throughout, which had us in hysterics. So I loved going to see in the cinema, but for the wrong reasons. --- a hole in my heart (2004) Wowza. "Prepare yourself for the most shocking film experience of the decade." it says on the back (which I read after viewing, as always)...they weren't lying. Pretty intense, I did cover my eyes/the screen at various points. Intense, brutal, pornographic, disturbing, vulgar but also sad and beautifully shot. 8/10
