  1. I don't blame them for being on the show, the judges put them through. The fact is they have 3+ (depending on the venue) screening processes for auditions, where they put through the best and worst, to through to the judges. And you KNOW they were put through as one of the 'worst". A friend of mine auditioned in Glasgow and got past the first bit, which is literally a person in a booth you sing at for 30 seconds) but then got kicked out at the second booth. It's ridiculous but all for the sake of entertainment.
  2. Because it's unfair on the other contestants who could actually make something off of doing well in this contest, using their talent. Simon Cowell effectively kept them in...how do you think that makes Lucie (one of the best singers there, no doubt) feel? It makes the show more of a mockery than it already is. They should just win the whole thing, at least some good would come out of this (i.e Simon would have to deal with managing them). But they won't win.
  3. Danyl murdered Purple Rain in front of me. I pressed my hands against the screen, begging for mercy, but it would not come. RE: N-Dubz, just seeing if their album is any good (only know the singles). It doesn't even have No.1 on it? At least that was catchy/good in clubs. I do like the melody of the sole hook in Strong Again. The other tracks I tired I couldn't listen to all the way through.
  4. I never found J.K's writing either bad or good, it's was fine, and she wrote well. I enjoyed her books a lot. She's not Stephanie Meyer.
  5. He also likes N-Dubz and the Transformers movies. He's not exactly of discerning taste. Each to their own I suppose. But we all love him in our own way. ?? She was pitch-perfect in that performance, the last moments were effortless and it showed. She did it spot-on.
  6. Yeah, Razzi, surprised you'd never got into Regina before, pretty basic weird-chick most people like. But she's far more interesting than her popular albums would suggest. Far's probably her least great, as it's all inoffensive and nice. Her first 3 albums are fucking amazing, 11:11, Songs and Soviet Kitsch. Begin To Hope is her most uneven, with wonderful high points and bad low points.
  7. What I really hate is how arbitary it all is. They made a point of saying "it's based on this one performance, lets forget about the past", and then he fucks that right over. If I were Rachel or Lucie (two acts who got fucked over), i'd bve filled with nothing but rage and bitterness, rather than quietly saying how lovely the twins were.
  8. I like the fact it's a Cabaret reference and incorporates elements from the film. Hate the medley, but actually quite like her voice normally (not heard great reviews of her live in general though).
  9. I think they epitomise "lowest common denominator muzak". They even look like chavs/twats, let alone make music catering to.
  10. Sounds like they're singing like Tori Amos or something...not how they usually sing. Being old that makes sense. I like though. S.C.G try The Con (the album) or So Jealous (album), those are good starting points.
  11. Oh just me having to manage what I tell a friend from college about her boyfriend, who I'm also good friends with. She's been questioning his behaviour (to me), and it's no surprise, he told me he doesn't know what's wrong, but he doesn't find her attractive/like her anymore, despite him going on about her before they got together. He's all cold and distant she says. I avoided telling her "Oh yeah, he doesn't like you soz!". And while on Fbook chat with her, I was texting him warning him of potential fall-out. Oh the drama.
  12. What thread is it where everyone posts "Yeah, I'm the same, I'm always the one friends come to for advice on relationships lol dunno why!?" cause I can now officially make that post myself.
  13. Do you mean like ? If so I agree. Kirsten and Mark (rip) were my idols. And also Michaela Strachan.
  14. What's on the tall guy's head?!
  15. From last night's Hallowe'en party (held fashionably late) - Didn't have a costume, so just went in my old school uniform;
  16. Assuming me and Chair have a psychic rapport... (We do, but it's so RUDE to assume as such)
  17. £3.04 for 3 discs, pretty decent. I hate, I slept through when another Cd I was bidding on went, and it was like 20p more than my max bid.
  18. Up Yes, Anastasia. 9/10 Surely this film appeals to adults more than children? So packed with contemplation.
  19. Saw Up, screamed, loved, laughed, cried, bled.
  20. Imogen Heap (and Frou Frou) trouble me. I like all the stuff I've heard, and own both her last two albums...but there's something that never REALLY clicks with me. It always sounds a bit wispy, like she/they're too scared to just settle. I know that's kinda what they're after, but it doesn't sit right with me. I can't listen to Speak For Yourself the whole way through. I prefer her new album. [/over] I liked Pulp, but not as much as I was hoping. Both these songs were sort of disappointing, but I'm going to vote Must Be Dreaming in the end.
  21. I need to let the new Tegan and Sara mull a few more days, it's so different to their other albums, it's hard to guage. I like it, but it's very fast-paced and hard to take time to just sit. I'm listening to Leona Lewis' new album because I love the album cover so much. Pretty sure I gave her first one a single listen then never again (outside Bleeding Love), but I prefer the production on this one.
