If nothing else it is proof that society is still not fully over the racism thing. Because it shouldn't matter; it shouldn't even be particularly noticed that this time the zombies are black. I understand the Eurogamer argument, that with 200 years of history it was inevitable. But the trouble is the fact that it is still inevitable, and that its still something that is honed in on in such depth.

So is the new Pikmin worth playing even if I had the original on GC? I never really got into it on GC, but I think in my youthful head knowing there was only 30 days to complete the game took the fun out of it and made it more of a march towards the end. By forgetting about that and with the new controls, is it worth a buy?

I go to the gym a couple of times a week with a few mates. It's awesome - waking up the next morning and stretching off the tightness is wicked :p Gonna get myself some home equipment soon too. Dunno where to start on that one actually. Obviously I'll get myself a couple of dumbbells, but what else is good for home stuff?

As Dara O'Briain said on Mock The Week - I'm atheist, but I'm a catholic atheist. I enjoy opening presents on Christmas day and eating chocolate at Easter. I'll probably get married in a Church. But I don't believe in the baby Jesus.

Did anyone else spot a Fallout 3 reference in there with the music and the cartoon character on the door, or was it just me (associating the music with the game). Also the continuity with awesome African dude - surely deliberate? It was too painfully obvious, it has to have been deliberate.

My day of school was surprisingly good, but now I have nothing planned for the rest of the day. I sense a lot of Xboxing and watching TV...meh.

jaysevens drunk, 4am philosophical ramblings are the best part of this forum imo.

At least the Atheism was "probably". This is just bollocks.

Anyone else notice how before the flash, the rowing boat had stabilisers on both sides, and after only on one?

Putting off doing a load of school work, which is quite ordinary. Also putting off talking to a couple of people about some relatively important stuff, which is also quite ordinary. Also putting off making any kind of decision that might be of any kind of impact, which is also quite ordinary. Don't you just hate it when you feel like you have loads of stuff you need/want to do, but just don't feel like doing any of it? Like right now I could be studying, playing Dead Space, playing the Halo Wars demo, reading a book, watching Heroes, watching the Unit, watching one of about 3 DVDs I need to watch, teaching myself one of about 3 things I'd like to learn... And yet instead of all that, I'm sitting on the internet doing absolutely bugger all. And I want to do something else. I just actually don't want to.

Damn, was hoping for this in Q4 of 09. Nevertheless, more Mass Effect is always good!

How is it your capable of saying stuff like this without sounding over pretentious, jay? It's unfair.

Yesterday was awesome. Took my Dads canoe up the local hill and sledged down in it. Took 6 of us to carry it there and back, and getting it back up the hill after every run was hell. But hey, brilliant fun, even if I do have a lump on my head and a bruise on my chest. Worth it! Also had the most draconian sore throat all week. Not even really a sore throat like normal, it's like the top of the back of my mouth is totally dry, around the tonsil area. Been back and forth to the loo all day because I've been drinking so much to try and lessen the pain.

This is one long ass episode of BSG.

Don't know if I'm even gonna bother watching this. I've gotten really bored of the whole show. If I do watch it, I'll be forcing myself to, and only out of habit / curiosity rather than actually enjoying the show.

Worse on 360 when you only have a 20gb HDD. Like, I can choose between 1 demo and an install or a load of demos. Quite frustrating.

Well I'm not even applying to places this year - it's next year I do all that. I'm just trying to get a handle on the actual subjects I'm interested in for now. Once the Open Days all start is when I'll look at more specifics. Also, as I mentioned to Chairdriver in the Uni thread, I think I'm pretty much restricted to Scottish Uni's, as I don't think my parents would take too kindly to me passing up the free tuition.

Why not go to a Scottish Uni and get the free tuition bollocks? I once raised the idea with my parents of perhaps going to Oxbridge and just about got shot. And surely you'd rather get a Masters than a Bachelors given the choice?

Thanks fish, your a legend. Other than medical (I'm less biology and more physics oriented), they all sound pretty interesting. Will probably come down to the specific courses at the Universities on what I end up doing. And I would imagine they would be pretty flexible with switching between, especially if as you say the first years are similar. Who knows!

Can you actually give me a rundown of what the different types of Engineering involve, what you study, what you can do with them? Because I keep coming back to it as a possible Uni course but in all honesty I don't know much about it!

Just realised my Physics exam is on Monday at 9am. It's a 150minute exam. Blegh, could they have chosen a worse time? Luckily I enjoy Physics so it shouldn't be too bad. If it was English or something I think I'd just not bother. Thing is I can't remember anything from the Electronics stuff. Mechanics is easy as hell and Radiation of Matter isn't really in the exam much supposedly since we haven't covered much of it yet. But Electronics just went in and out of my head at the time. Definately the most boring part of Physics. Thinking about it like that actually, I've realised perhaps Engineering is the road to go down, rather than straight Physics. Because I love the mechanics stuff, but dislike Electronics. Or am I being too naive about the two courses in saying that.
