  1. Nah, I'm done. Halfway through chapter 3 on NG+ and I'm bored. I'm simply not having fun anymore. NG+ doesn't increase the difficulty and I can't be arsed to play through all the missions again (and yet again for NG++) just to see all endings and unlock a few more missions. That didn't last very long.
  2. I did some digging and found out that I was basically running a, if not the meta build: Lots of HP AP and weapons that deal high amounts of stagger damage (I went with gatling guns and some good old fashion explosives - using energy weapons is apparently the better choice, though). I steam roll everything. The final arena fight took me 22 seconds. My mate told me that in the older games you had to adjust your AC build for certain missions/encounters or you'd get your ass whooped. With this installment? I started to run one build right when a certain part became available to me and that was it. Aside from switching weapons and increasing my AP even more, I changed nothing over the course of my playthrough (which is apparently 70% complete). It started with a bang and was amazing. After chapter 1 it fell off hard. I've simply been going through the motions with no challenge at all. Doesn't help that the missions are short and not very interesting. I've adjusted to the controls, but man...the camera is a disaster. NEVER EVER lock on to anything and go into close combat. The camera goes haywire trying to follow enemies' movements. Thank goodness I don't get motion sickness from playing video games. There's also some FPS dips which can be fairly noticeable and distracting, especially during fights. The sound is awesome, though. Had to turn down SFX and voices so I could hear the music but now it's perfection. Overall...not as good as I expected. Gonna finish it and see what NG+ has in store. Maybe that's where the real Armored Core begins.
  3. 7 hours in, chapter 4 reached, 60% of the campaign done. Not to brag, but I expected this game to be a lot more difficult. The tutorial boss kicked my ass once because I was struggling with the controls. Beat it on my second try and haven't died since. This is supposed to be a From game?
  4. Welp, I've played this for 2 1/2 hours straight Still getting used to the controls. It's very demanding, in my opinion. Aside from Share, Options and the touchpad you basically have to use every single button all the time I'm actually using my index and my middle fingers for the shoulder buttons. It's weird as fuck when you've pressed these buttons with only your index fingers your entire gaming life. Other than that...the game is intense! I had similar experiences when I played my first (and so far only) Ace Combat game, when I engaged in Returnal's combat and when I fought Pure gaming bliss The customization is a little daunting, I gotta say. There's sooo many values and numbers involved. I'll probably spend most of tomorrow grinding some money in order to buy every part available to me. Then I can experiment properly. Right now I can't try out some weapon/equipment combinations because I exceed my weight limit and/or EN load.
  5. Pre-loading now, thanks to my mate. He loves the series and is way too excited First Armored Core for me and I know almost nothing about it.
  6. I'm not the target audience, but it seems like a nice device. I'll stick with my trusty PSVita for my mobile gaming needs Earbuds are more my thing. But a tad too expensive for me.
  7. I wish I could. Miss our banter Gonna be incredible
  8. Phew, act 4 was a drag...I just wanted it to be over...The plot is pretty boring in the end and the quests reflect that. D:OS2 starts strong in act 1, gets better in the second, loses steam fast in act 3 and the finale is lackluster. Still a great game overall Now true wait for Baldur's Gate 3 begins
  9. There's also this quote: So yeah, I was wrong. Enemies do respawn and you can grind, but the devs want to make you progress the story to actually become stronger. Given my experience with the demo, making enemies respawn is a tedious affair, i.e. you have to re-enter entire areas/quit the game. It's no secret that I like to spend a certain amount of time in a low-level area to power up my teams in (J)RPGs, even if it's not necessarily efficient. With this game it sounds like a purposely tedious affair, to the point where it's not going to be fun for me. To each their own, but for me this will most likely mean I won't enjoy Sea of Stars and will probably drop it soon after I've given it its fair chance.
  10. Man, this game suffers from pacing issues just like the first one...not so much gameplay-wise this time around, though. Fights, exploration and dialogue are spread out quite nicely... But the plot...good lord. Act 2 took me 36 hours and the plot barely moved, even if I only consider the main quests. Act 3 took me 5 hours and it was just a bombardment of plot reveals. It's still a better game than the first one and I'm enjoying the heck out of it I'm in the final act now and it should last me another 15 hours. After that...time for some more action games Got Sniper Elite 5 ready to go. Gonna be a great palette cleanser right before BG3.
  11. I was kind of excited, but no random encounters, i.e. no grinding for exp/gold/loot...not my thing. Played the demo and aside from the gorgeous visuals, I didn't enjoy it...Gonna give this a proper go next week, though. It's on PS+ Extra so no harm done if I get nothing out of it.
  12. This game's ridiculous... Wanted to take part in an arena fight and talked to someone beforehand. That person challenged me to fight a battle with a blindfold so I can fight her afterwards. The arrogant, noble lizard-prick that I am...I accepted. It was tough. Two of my characters were pretty useless as they are generally ranged fighters and being hit with the blind status reduces your range to a small circle around you. But I emerged victorious and went on to battle the person mentioned above. That fight turned ugly once something happened. I did win, though, thankfully and got a prize: A KEY TO SOME TREASURE. So I went to the back of the arena, opened a hatch, came across a petrified door which I managed to open with a certain skill, moved into the next room and got petrified myself thanks to some weird steam coming out of pipes. Luckily one character survived and I managed to get him out of that room before he succumbed to the stony vapor. After some valve-closing and healing I found the treasure: A key...what is that key for? NO IDEA. I guess I will stumble upon the lock eventually...or not...that's the beauty of the game. You never know what happens. Oh, I also freed a Lich and it seems he's now going on a killing spree...hope I find him before he kills someone important Anyway, after the Bundesliga match is over I'll get back to D:O2. Let's see when I'll go to sleep tonight
  13. Just had way too long fight against a bridge-guarding troll who was 8 level higher than my party. He was able to one-shot everyone in melee range, so what did I do? Collected a bunch of...things. Like cooking pots, crates, etc. I then sneakily placed them on the bridge in a line to create a barrier. The troll couldn't pass because he dumbdumb. He did have a ranged attack, but it was poison and my undead mage heals from poison So while everybody else was chilling in the realm of the dead (i.e. they got smacked with the poison blast), undead skelly man splish-splashed in the poison pond and kept blasting Mr. Stupid in the face with fire magic. Got 38k exp (which is about a quarter of a level up where I'm at right now) and a very nice ring. It was way too much effort, though
  14. Gonna bump this 5 year old thread. Sue me! After I finished D:OS EE a few days ago, I immediately jumped into the sequel. The first installment, while being a good game, suffered from very inconsistent pacing (regarding both story and gameplay), a couple of bugs (some of which had me reload earlier saves) and an overall pretty uninteresting plot. 22 hours into the sequel and: It's better in every way What I did so far: And that's probably only 30% of what I did. There's so much to do and so many aspects of the game's world interact with each other...it's crazy. And I love it. I spent 17 hours in the first area (which is apparently regarded as Act I) alone...the second Act is supposed to take up 50% of the entire game. Oooohhhh boy. And Baldur's Gate 3 is even better?
  15. The game right now. Anybody playing/going to play in September? I know I will. Haven't seen much. Haven't read any reviews. I've seen the score aggregates, though. Seems to become one of the greatest! In "preparation", or rather in anticipation, I recently played through Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition and am currently playing the sequel. The former was a little disappointing (still good, though), but the latter improves upon pretty much everything - at least from what I've seen in the first 7 hours. Can't wait for BG3 to arrive. Already switched my work days for that week so I can dive in for 5 days straight Gonna be interesting to see whether the DnD rules/mechanics are hard to grasp. I've never been part of a group and don't know anything aside from "roll dice".
  16. Looking at my Excel sheet... I've finished 22 games from January until April. And since then...4. Not sure what happened/is happening.
  17. Haven't been on social media since 2016 (I think) and won't be ever again, so no The only times I read Twitter/Threads/whatever is when someone else posts stuff on a forum. Good to see an alternative for the shitshow that Twitter is, though. But it's Meta so basically just a different kind of shitshow.
  18. Ticket to see 'em live in Cologne, Feb 2024! Can't wait. Their new album is incredible.
  19. Oh yeah. I finished this weeks ago. Not the worst game I've played this year so far. I'm gonna leave it at that
  20. That is correct And it won't change anytime soon...
  21. Well, nothing interesting for me. (Already played CoD: Black Ops Cold War - the campaign is great!).
  22. Oh boy, another great month. Add these to my list: • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's • Revenge (PS4/PS5) • Rogue Legacy 2 (PS4/PS5) • Soulstice (PS5) • Tacoma (PS4) • A Hat in Time (PS4) • Forager (PS4) • Dodgeball Academia (PS4) • The Wild at Heart (PS4) Will I get to them soon? Of course not. In May I have completed two games and in June I'm at one, so far. There are some shorter ones on this list, though. I hope I'll get to finish at least one.
  23. @Julius Do your thing so I can tell you that there are so many games I want to play.
  24. Demo was good. Really good.
