  1. The Solitaire Conspiracy A wonderful twist on the good old Solitaire mechanics. The trophy list isn't too challenging, but the countdown mode was pretty intense. Didn't expect my heart to race this much during wave 14 Highly recommended, especially for the current price of 1.19€ (on PSN, not sure about other platforms)
  2. The Solitaire Conspiracy has no right to be this good Played this for two hours straight just now. It's Solitaire with a twist. Instead of the classic suits you get different "groups" with a specific skill each. It works like this: Place an ace in the middle and the group's skill is ready to be used. You can do that by placing the face cards. One group, for example, "explodes" the pile you place its face card on, meaning the cards in that pile get randomly distributed on the other piles (and yes, you can place face cards anywhere you like, which is different form regular Solitaire but we're not playing that, are we?). It's stupidly addictive There's also a plot about some spy shenanigans told via FMV cutscenes, but I don't care. Skipped 'em all so far and will skip the rest. Just gimme that juicy gameplay. Oh and the soundtrack is amazing: Sadly, there are only 5 songs but they are all incredible. And way too epic for a game like this
  3. I'm addicted to gambling. Thankfully only in-game Just spent 1.5k gold and I won...nothing. Made some more progress with Crown Trick and reached "Day 3" and its boss (which I assume is the final boss). Got my ass kicked, though. I'm very much enjoying this one. UI is a bit of a mess at times (there's so many status effects, it's crazy...) and the controls could use some fine tuning but other than that it's great. Started playing Syphon Filter to get some use out of my PS+ Premium sub and ooohhh boy, it has not aged well Tank controls are so bad...and it seems to be a "where the fuck do I go?" kind of game. The cutscenes and voice acting/dialogue are hilariously bad. I actually laughed out loud a few times. Only played the first mission but I'll keep going. It's interesting to see where Bend Studio has come from. I'm hoping we'll see Bubsy 3D on the sub eventually.
  4. For a whooping 3,37€
  5. Devil May Cry 4 Oh boy, what an unfinished mess this is. First the good: fighting baddies is awesome - it's Devil May Cry, so it's great it doesn't look too bad considering its age music is great Now the bad: camera sucks ass - sometimes the walls become your greatest enemies because they block the view the audio mix - dialogue is too quite, same goes for music (which sounds a bit weak, too - a shame because there are some cool tracks in this one) And finally: The ugly, which I'm gonna put in spoilers because I'm gonna talk about the half-way point and the end. It's a one-and-done game for me, which is a shame as I've played the previous entries of the series a couple of times (except DMC2, since it's supposed to be complete and utter trash and I will never ever play it).
  6. Stolen from era: It's the better game so it's deserved
  7. Quick and dirty new thread for 2023. My first game of the year: Abzû Beautiful exploration game (similar to Journey - which is no surprise given it's from the same team). The music is exceptional, too. Highly recommended if you want to wind down and relax. And first Platinum of the year goes to: Seasons after Fall Enjoyed it, but it was a tad too long, in my opinion. Started playing Devil May Cry 4 in preparation for the sequel which I should be able to pick up next week. Also been playing Chasm on PSVita but man...it drags when you go for 100% completion. It's a pretty small Metroidvania, but even after a patch it received in 2020 which was supposed to improve backtracking, it's still tedious. This game will take me a while. Only playing 15-20 minutes per day (if at all) Waiting for my mate to pick up his copy of Far Cry 6 so we can indulge in some good old co-op gaming. Edit: Speaking of Far Cry 6. Did some stuff alone in order to unlock co-op and this happened:
  8. But what if the controller sucks and they all hate it In all seriousness, this is awesome. The more options there are for gamers with disabilities, the better. Nintendo better step up. Coincidentally I've started playing Far Cry 6 a few minutes ago and the very first time you reach the main menu you get greeted with accessibility settings and - amazingly - audio-description is turned on automatically. It makes so much sense, why isn't this a thing for every game? I wonder how people who don't see very well (or at all) start games if they don't know where they are in the menus. Indeed. It's been awesome when accessibility settings even get their own videos before release
  9. You had one job... Stare into the void 'till the void stares back Lovely little figure. Astro is awesome
  10. First gaming purchase this year is pretty early... Ordered two copies of Far Cry 6. One for my mate, one for me. PS4 version with free PS5 upgrade was 10 bucks cheaper than PS5 copies. Also: Thanks to a "buy 2, get 3" offer in a local store I'll get DMC5 SE for free So all in all: 21€ for both games.
  11. It finally happened for him. 100% deserved
  12. Holy shit, that was the best leg I've ever seen
  13. Oh, that's a shame. And no, don't watch it. There's basically no conclusion.
  14. You can say that again
  15. That's all there is to it Incredible performance. Clemens should be very proud, though. First German to reach the World Darts Championship's semi-final.
  16. This is now Bully Boy's to lose. He's too good.
  17. Unbelievable. I'm still shaking.
  18. You should dry your hands, my man
  19. Looks like it'll leave the sub on the 17th of January. Won't have time to play until the 2nd so I hope that's true
  20. Been playing Crown Trick for a while now. It ticks all the right boxes for me. It's a rogue-lite Gameplay is very strategic. Here's a quote from the game's Steam page which describes it quite nicely: At first I was too reckless, getting my ass kicked at every turn. Now (while still too reckless at times) I take a bit more time to actually plan some moves. And what a surprise...I've beaten a few runs. Love all the stats the game throws at you: Oh no...it's a gacha game? No need to panic, it's just ingame money I'm not proud of the amount of gold I've lost to this hell-machine And here's a helpful tip: Thanks.
  21. Ohhh, sounds like a good time. Gonna give it a go once I'm back home in the new year
  22. The important question with almost no mistake
