Hey hey, I'm still playing PS4 games, too. But I'll post in the PS5 thread just because I can

There it is. The second Platinum I got while playing on a PS5. This time it's from a PS4 game: Sniper Ghost Warrior 3. Did I enjoy it? Yes, the missions and shooting gameplay are good fun. Did I enjoy going for the Platinum? Kind of. The collectibles were a tad annoying. Anyways, the game is a solid 6/10. Good gameplay, but the open world is entirely unnecessary. Already know what to play next: Persona 5.

Played about 4 hours of No Man's Sky on PS5 this week to wind down in the evenings. Such a relaxing game (aside from the first 30 minutes when it's a constant struggle for survival ). Deleted my base, i.e. the one you have to build for the main quest, so my mate and I will be able to build one from scratch together. Yesterday we tried coop. Setting it up is simple: Just invite your friend. However, the coop kinda suffers from one major flaw: Quests only progress for you. Which means you gotta do everything yourself. It kinda makes sense, given the amount of stuff the game teaches you, but it's a pet peeve of mine... Anyways, my mate's first arrival on a planet, narrated by him and me (loosely transcribed by me): This is gonna be fun Regarding Sniper Ghost Warrior 3: I think I'm halfway through the main quest. Also found at leat 50% of the collectibles. Looks like I'm going for the Platinum after all. What do I think about the game? Gameplay is quite fun. Very slow, but the gunplay is great. At least for the sniper rifles. Sidearms are very clunky. Not sure if the open world is doing the game any favours. I feel like structured missions in large but enclosed areas would suit the game more. "Hey drahkon, what about the story and characters?", you ask. (spoilers follow...not that you'd want to play the game for the story anway...) "Sit down and let me tell you what I know: I play as a military/marine/whatever the fuck guy. I have a brother. I see him being taken away during a mission. 30 seconds into the quest of finding him I realized that the only outcome will be: My brother is somehow the enemy. There are other characters in play: Some blond chick who apparently was the love of my life but something went down and fucked everything up. Other characters include: a couple of voices I hear on a communication device. Neat. A war is currently taking place, too. Or a fight between some factions? Or there's some bigshot motherfucker pulling some strings? I don't know, I don't care. I skipped all the cutscenes and barely listened to anything those boringass characters keep talking about. Also: There's some weird genetic manipulation thing going on...23 society. I'm dead serious...my brother apparently is a super solider now." Anyways, that's where I'm at with the story

Oh, Just Cause 4. Interesting. Doubt it has uncapped fps, though...been playing a lot of games at 60 fps and going back to 30 with Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 isn't very enjoyable

Indeed it is. But Nintendo gets away with it for some reason. Not that it matters to me...can't remember the last time I actually paid full price (or 33% off) for a Nintendo game. Went second hand for their titles a long time ago because they are, as you put it, unbelievably stingy. Well...I did buy a new copy of Super Mario 3D All-Stars. But not full price

What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!
drahkon replied to Aneres11's topic in General Chit Chat
Des Rocs fucking rules. Been listening to his music for a while now. Can't get enough of it. This Is Our Life is the only track I play on the guitar these days Simple, yet so much fun. -
Playing No Man's Sky on PS5 is a marvel. Just spent about an hour doing the first few quests and I gotta say: It's nice to have a lot of the game's mechanics streamlined and being taught to you. The devs really thought about a lot and took the criticism they got to heart. Props to them This is where I'm at right now: High temperature planet with Sentinels. Great Just learned how to create a base. Since I'm a creative genius, there was only one choice: A simple hut Thank goodness for the PS5 patch. The game runs smooth, looks gorgeous (well, the planet is ugly as fuck, though) and the DualSense features are awesome. Convinced a mate to get this for his PS4. Can't wait to explore and build with him.

Yes, as a hardcore Muse fan I noticed it Good combination

Justifying your hobby is never worth it. And judging another person's hobby isn't either. Oh, you spend x money and x time on whatever it is you enjoy? Awesome and good for you. Unless it's some fucked up thing like child porn or actually enjoying Xenoblade Chronicles, go ahead, have fun. I will never understand people who deem something harmless that others enjoy "worthless" or a "waste of money/time". Last Thursday a colleague gave me a weird look and asked "Seriously?" when I told her that I'd taken a day off for the PS5. I asked her if she'd ever taken a day off for something that she's passionate about. She went silent very quickly

Oh well...downloading now.

Thanks @Julius I think I'll wait for a better deal in a year or so. Can't really afford to churn out 30 bucks right now, but I want to experience Royal's benefits.
-
Royal is currently on sale but it's still 30 bucks. The vanilla version is free with the PS+ Collection. Anybody who could tell me if the 30 bucks are really worth it for Royal? Don't have a lot of cash to spend, so not sure if I should do it. But I'd be annoyed if Royal is a much much better game

Tried No Man's Sky (for the 800th) time just now. The PS5 upgrade is quite transformative. It looks gorgeous and runs at 60fps. The adaptive triggers also add a bit of depth to the game (e.g. the right trigger starts to resist when you use the multitool to mine things for too long) Speaking of 60fps. After playing Astro's Playroom and now this it was really difficult to go back to Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 and its locked 30fps...can't see myself ever playing a game in fidelity/beauty/awesome graphics mode if it runs at 30fps. Downloading Days Gone from the PS+ Collection. Always wanted to give it a go and there's no better time than now Will try to convince my sister and her boyfriend to lend me their copy of Ghost of Tsushima

Yes. He cheated 4 years ago, he cheated this year, he's still cheating and he will always cheat.

The worst thing about the PS5...it's driving me insane how long it's taking me to get used to that
-
And there it is, my first PS5 Platinum And also my only criticism so far with the console: That trophy information card isn't great for screenshots Completed the DLC, too: The speedrun levels are pretty cool. And I say that as a man who hates doing speedruns (I do love watching 'em, though)

Shadow Complex Remastered patched to be played via BC on PS5 Not bad. The only game on the list that I was kind of interested in playing again. Probably never will, though
-
Finished it. Unbelievable. What a game. Sorry, Ratchet & Clank (PS4), you are no longer the greatest 3D-platformer in existence. ASTRO'S Playroom is. It's a wonderful introduction to the DualSense and an incredible game in its own right. Can't believe this is free. Everybody with a PS5 needs to play this. And I hope that every dev out there plays this to get some pointers on how to make the most of the new controller. Now we wait for the "real" ASTRO game. And I'm off to getting the Platinum
-
Here's hoping you don't have faulty a console @Julius Been playing Astro's Playroom and also dabbled a bit with some PS4 games just to try the BC out and the air coming out of the console is cold. Surely that's good There's a small spot on the PS5 that's a little warm, but that's to be expected. No problems for me. Knock on wood Still can't believe how much of a game changer the DualSense is. Haven't had this much wonder with gaming since I've tried VR for the first time.

Can't stop smiling while playing this The charm is unmatched. Look at this sad little guy (and the annoying prick who plays on his PSVita next to him ) Edit: Just progressed through the level and...

Out of reactions for today, so to all who got their PS5 by now: Awesome! And enjoy

Just finished Cooling Springs. I need a break. This has been the greatest gaming experience of my life. I'm not joking. The DualSense is the real deal. It blows next-gen graphics, faster load times, 3D audio and everything else you wanna throw at me out of the water. The very first time I've had to actually "fight" against the triggers...mind blowing. That was such a weird moment. I was very apprehensive at first. But once I literally pushed through, it was incredible. Such a simple (not from an engineering standpoint, I assume) mechanic but it works so perfectly. And Astro's Playroom appears to be the best showcase for the DualSense's features. The haptic feedback...I've read impressions like "when you walk on glass, you actually feel it", but I was a little skeptical. Now I can say: it's true. Speaking of the game itself...I'm still grinning from ear to ear What an amazing nod to PlayStation history and what a joy it is to play. ASTRO is such an expressive fella. Cute as a button and simply wonderful to control. Cooling Springs was fun from start to finish. No boring moment, so much to explore and...I'm going to repeat myself...it was a joy. Well...that's it for me. I'm going back into the PS5. What a start.

Fingers crossed And there it is: Such a glorious machine Haven't started it, yet, but I've held the DualSense...it feels so good. Anyways, I'm pressing the power button now, so...see ya later
