  1. Need help. So I just bought 5 games in the sale. Go to buy the one I REALLY wanted (FFVII) and my card was rejected. Tried another card, rejected. Third time lucky? Nope. None of my cards are working on the e-shop now for some reason. Anyone experienced this before? Any advice? Google isn’t throwing up much in the way of answers.
  2. Bought this on a whim on Tuesday. Loving it so far, it’s been ~15 years since I played through this game. Classic Zelda in every sense of the word, brings a smile to my face. The music is up there with the best, they’ve done such a good job updating the OST.
  3. I think the update actually came out today, but I can’t check.
  4. I gave 4 games a download on Apple's service and it's great. I cant believe how good Oceanhorn 2 looks on my iPhone 8. Looking forward to when this is supported by Apple TV and I can put them on the big screen with my Xbox pad. I'll probably stay subscribed as the price is pretty good and gives me the chance to explore a few indies. Well played, Apple!
  5. Please stop it N-E. I don’t want or need this, but...
  6. Yeah, this season has been great not only from the English perspective, but a UK-wide one. So much young talent at the teams you mentioned. It's really great to see and I guess the fruits of the FA's investment in youth 10 or so years ago is finally paying off. Great to see the big clubs going with young British talent. There's something very nostalgic seeing the Man Utd line up in particular, it's not quite the class of '92, but they have a great British backbone to the squad.
  7. *why can’t i hold all these games.jpg* I hate my life and I hate my Switch. I already have 50 games in the backlog and plan to buy at least 10 retail releases this year. That’s not including the 50+ I have on the e-shop wish list. Genuinely the greatest console I’ve ever owned.
  8. I honestly hope this game just becomes a platform. It's so, so good and I just don't know how they can top it (and whether it would even be worth it). Just keep adding to it until the end of time. I'll keep paying and keep on playing.
  9. This is a cool concept, but please, Nintendo, no more videos like this. WTF was up with those presenters? Unbelievable levels of cringe.
  10. Ummm Xenoblade didn’t look very “HD” 😂 Please don’t sleep on Tokyo Mirage Sessions. I reviewed the game back in the day for the site. One of the very best Wii U games and a fantastic RPG. I'm disappointed by the fact that everything that was great is a remake / rerelease... but I’ll gladly go through TMS again and I’ve never played the original Xenoblade. SNES was the icing on the cake. Zelda is going to be great. Luigi’s Mansion is shaping up nicely and genuinely looks like a solid sequel. No NMH3, no Metroid, no Bayo 🤷🏼‍♂️ I’m torn. Oh, HOME RUN MODE IN SMASH!!!!! Best direct ever!!!1!
  11. Digital Foundry saying the demo they played at Gamescon runs at 60FPS (almost) all the time. Huge improvement on the E3 demo
  12. It looks WEIRD. Why not just use the SNES sprites? Strange decision.
  13. None of the games I wanted to see were shown 😂 Oh well... The new Shin’en game looks great! Will be keeping my eye on it.
  14. So what's everyone looking forward to? My hype levels are high for Hollow Knight: Silksong - my most anticipated GOTY. Looking forward to hopefully seeing more of Untitled Goose Game and Streets of Rage 4.
  15. Yeah this has been a lot of fun! Thanks for putting in the effort, Glen.
  16. So who forgot to take Allison out of their Fantasy team?
  17. I accidentally did it with my DOOM cartridge last week. Don’t recommend using you teeth to hold Switch games as you open another box.
  18. Does look like it’s running at 60FPS now which is good news. No excuse for it being 30 to be honest.
  19. Yeah I've spent a lot of time in this mode, it's great! Managed to win 5 tourneys as Ness, but couldn't do it as anyone else. The Heroes vs. Villains tourney was MUCH harder than the standard one.
  20. Oh, so we hate Japanese, nu-metal inspired soundtracks do we now? (15 years after the genre deservedly perished, no less) Must have missed the memo on that one... Seriously though, XCX’s OST is amazing. I totally get why people hate it, but I absolutely loved it. The absolute balls of Monolith Soft to make THAT the OST of their biggest and most ambitious game to date deserves respect. Uh’ uh’ yeeeeeeeeah.
  21. Breath of the Wild Tokyo Mirage Sessions Super Mario 3D World Nintendo Land Xenoblade Chronicles X Splatoon Edit: Sorry, I had to make a change.
  22. After watching the latest video of Jim's (attached below), I've gotta say, I've never been happier to be a Nintendo gamer. The fact that EA and Activision are avoiding the Switch makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. I know Nintendo are not without their own faults and we've seen the "new industry standards" creeping into their games to some extent, but I still know when I buy a £50 game, I'm getting a full game that will be a complete experience from day one. I know there have been complaints about Mario Tennis and Splatoon 2, both of which severely lacked content at launch, but I actually found this to be a positive as it provided me with a reason to come back to them weeks or months after I'd taken a break. Both of them are sitting in my top 10 most played Switch games, so despite the disappointment at launch, they've kept me interested in the long run. I actually don't mind this approach for their online-focused games. With Mario Galaxy, BOTW, Smash and Xenoblade 2, there is TONS of content in the base game and HOURS worth of enjoyment without the need of an Internet connection (ok, stability patches aside). Three of those games have DLC add-ons, but feel worth it from my point of view. I picked up Far Cry 5 on Steam a couple of weeks ago - you could say it's my first AAA (current gen) game, and I'd heard a lot of positive noise about it on the old podcast services. I haven't owned an Xbox or PlayStation for over a decade and only recently got a gaming PC. Honestly, the amount of paid content and skins is disgusting. A shit ton of (what seems like mostly cosmetic) stuff locked behind some kind of currency which you can buy for real money is completely off-putting. This game launched at full price, there is a mass of DLC available for it and in-game skin unlocks and purchases are thrown in your face in the in-game menus when CREATING YOUR CHARACTER (in contrast to SSBU, for example, which doesn't do this with the Mii costumes). I can imagine EA and Activision games are much worse than this. This industry is heading for a big crash if this is its real current state. I've never once in the time since I got back into gaming in 2013 with the Wii U felt pressured to spend money or seen some content "locked" behind a in-game-currency-for-real-world-money thing in the past five years with the exception of Fortnite, which is a frickin' F2P game. Fuck the Triiiiiiiiiple Aaaaaaaaaa games industry to the moon and back. Burn it all down. They are not making games anymore, it's just an exercise in copy and paste mechanics from the previous generation which happens to look a lot prettier and they've found ways to try and force people to pay extra for that beauty. There is literally NOTHING that is intrinsically different mechanics wise from the PS360 era in Far Cry 5. Business model bad, survive it will not.
