Honestly though, I would be extremely surprised if this sold out given that it's hardly in massive demand relative to say what the Wii was; there was a similar belief that the PS3 would sell out (that was twice the cost of this) yet they stacked up by the dozen in shops. But really, small GAME outlets probably don't get many in and for the life of me I never understand why people use these seemingly ripoff places to buy consoles for release (often midnight queuing for something I've been playing for a day already from ShopTo!) It may be that individual small outlets sell out but I'd be flabergasted if this wasn't available for a while from every online retail option. Could be flabergasted though, but I'm guessing not.

Game Boy Games That Pushed The Limits
Sheikah replied to mr_bogus's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Anyone have the Oddworld game for GB? I thought the gameplay translated really well from the PS1 series, I had a lot of fun with it. -
At gamestation prior to the release of the 3DS the guy there was bullshitting me about there being low stock levels so we should preorder (at the cost of a £10 deposit). I generally wouldn't trust a word of a GAME/gamestation employee, at least not while they're in the shop trying to make money off you.

This is the kind of thing I would get behind once it gets some decent games / potentially gets some good custom firmware. I do like the dual (proper) analogue sticks, as well as it being pretty powerful while having a longer battery than the 3DS. Maybe when it gets some better games and drops in a price a bit I'll get it. Inevitably there'll be a drought at the beginning so I don't see much point.

Being with Ulfric as a dark elf is fun, openly being told elves are scum to your face. There was no way I would side with a faction that tried to chop my head off 10 minutes before.

Have you got/played FFVIII or FFIX? The former is quite hit and miss (although my personal favourite game of all time) while the latter is universally loved. I have FFVI on GBA, I remember the PS1 version had absolute killer load times (even opening the menu). Anyone have the PSN version to confirm whether these are gone?

I haven't played the full game, true, but my criticisms are not with the story or anything else that would require playing the full game to legitimately complain about. Rather I am disappointed with the lack of effort in terms of retaining almost exactly the same battle and levelling system as well as the overall feel and overemphasis on flashy cutscenes over solid gameplay. Oh, and your whole post was on topic since it's all about FFXIII-2. :p

Did you get that FF title in the end Shorty? I am intrigued which...I'm going to say it was FFVII.

It is pretty happy when you consider there's much better RPGs that have stepped up to the mark this generation to play, instead of taking a giant leap back. I appreciate that you like the game and have tried in earnest to keep this topic as 'pro' FFXIII-2 as possible. But as it stands, I think a lot of people won't like the direction this has taken too and in interest of balance/fairness we should be able to say this (no offence intended).

I played the demo for this. I could go into a really long post about this but I'd be wasting time. I'll summarise with the words 'crap, uninspired money grabbing soulless cash-in'. The thing I liked about X-2 was that even though the story wasn't great, the gameplay was amazing with the job system and obviously a complete change from X (which was still great, but this being different and still great justified it being made). This isn't justified. It's just bad; why they were pretty conserved when XIII wasn't exactly great is somewhat confusing. Oh well. Maybe one day they'll make another good FF game.

All (if not most) of the Final Fantasy titles prior to FFX are on sale on the store, no reason not to get at least FFVII, VIII and IX if anyone hasn't already played them. Those 3 are £3.50 each if you have PS Plus, £4 otherwise. Fantastic value for what they are! Getting FFVII through to IX for about a tenner is insanely good. Yeah no idea why but these went up incredibly steeply last year, with shops like game/gamestation selling them for over £50! Amazon is your best bet at £35. I really wouldn't recommend buying them preowned (they might be on the verge of being worn out) or buying from ebay/Amazon marketplace. There seems to be quite a few counterfeits knocking about.

You could always choose from twice the number of toys, just you'd be looked at weird / potentially bullied for playing with dolls if you're a guy.

I'm disappointed you don't have Dark Souls already! It's actually better and harder than Demon's Souls, ie. epic.

That one says 1080p so it should be full HD. Not sure you'd want to look elsewhere to see if you can get a TV that is backlit/3D/smart or if you're on a budget.

Life sure can be moreish, best graphics I've ever seen and tons of job classes to choose from. Shame about the lack of a reset button after I drove over that hooker, though.

Cool, knew ShopTo would deliver for you guys.

(A really old quote because I was made aware of this old debate recently...) Actually can't believe you thought that would be a way to put down that debate. Is this really the woman who is paid to come up with the storyline for this game? I've imagined better plots than this, if I'm being honest. Either way, I doubt very much that your in-depth interpretation on the mostly one-dimensional characters/plot of UC3 were actually shared by her at the time she wrote the 'script'. Either that or she left most of these thoughts out. And if that was her interpretation, so what? She wrote a mediocre plot that could have almost been edited from Uncharted 2, and got through a slither of what she apparently intended to put across in my opinion. You would most likely disagree, but then you enjoy reading much further into things than I do.

A turn-based RPG (which I assume he is getting at, while conveniently avoiding action RPGs) is as easy as you want it to be. If you keep getting pummeled by a boss in a cave, you can go off and hunt to increase your level. It's entirely your choice if you want to cop out. It's up to the individual whether they wish to be challenged by a game or not (hence some people going to extremes in RPGs by playing L1 only challenges or gimped equipment run throughs). Not to mention that the article is incredibly sweeping and overlooks the fact that with some RPGs, enemies level as you do. So it's not necessarily true that you will become better than enemies by simply donking them over the head a lot. Most of all, the same thing makes you become better in both genres of games - you die, you learn, and you don't make the same mistake again.

I'm assuming he meant a password that wasn't based on a word when he says symbols and numbers, in which case it would be quite hard to guess (not like the non-gibberish cartoon). Especially if you've already got one such code memorised because you had it as an issued computer ID years ago. Our uni e-mail forbids us from using any dictionary words or substitutions, although they make us change it every quarter year which is pretty annoying.

Yeah because if there's one thing I respect it's people going onto a board of fanboys and directly telling them they're retards to start a flame war.

No, heavy armour is worthless. It weighs more, makes you move slower and by the time you have legendary dragon scale armour (light) you will have excellent defence. Light armour has some nice perks too like weighing nothing, it's the way to go.
-
It can be useful in that it lets you upgrade magical gear you find that may be better than anything you can yet enchant yourself (due to low enchantment level). It's nice to have because smithing can get better all the while you increase your alchemy and enchanting, so it lets you make use of your uber equipment now without knowing you'll be throwing it away once you get your other skills higher.
-
I didn't bother with it until quite a way in, but as soon as you decide to level it you can max it to 100 in an hour or two. It's one of those things that to get the most of you really need to max enchanting and get good with alchemy, and get some of the perks for those skills. I will say to you guys, when getting the perks in smithing do not take the light armour route! I use light armour but took the heavy armour (right hand perk path) route. The reason for this is that either side of the skill tree will ultimately end up with dragon amour, letting you craft the best light armour there is. But only the right hand path will let you smith daedric items, including the best weapons in the game. When you reach dragon you can't then continue back down the other path you didn't go with the first time, just to let you guys know.

No the WiiU needed to be announced not last year but several years ago. You know, instead of the Wii.
