Yeah no surprise at all, amazed me they ever thought overhauling it might work?

Hades is pretty good, not sure if you have it yet. Other than that try Binding of Isaac.

State of Play (Thursday 25th February 2021 @ 22:00 GMT)
Sheikah replied to Julius's topic in Other Consoles
I'm hoping that TLOU2 gets some additional PS5 features announced too - 60 FPS would be nice. I've got a bunch of games ready to play including TLOU2, which I've held off on up til now. -
Nintendo Direct : 17 / 02 / 21 - 10pm (UK time)
Sheikah replied to Ronnie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yes, I had no idea they intended to release the game in slideshow format. -
You're kind of proving his point here. Rather than accepting the 7/10 review as somebody's opinion, you're finding some way to discredit the reviewer by saying they are biased against Nintendo. Can't we just accept that different people have different opinions? In my opinion 7/10 is bang on for SM3DW (can't comment on Bowser's Fury), so I would argue that many outlets have been generous compared to how I view the game.

Possible unpopular opinion alert...but does this game (going from the trailer) not look generic as fuck? Putting aside the utterly serious tone of the amdram voice actors in that trailer, the platitudes they're saying...man. Does anyone else feel a soullessness to this? Member games like Final Fantasy IX?

I have alerts set just to let friends know, and the Amazon UK stock of PS5 consoles sold today was already sold out by the time I clicked through the link. Stock is harder to get now than when the preorders first went live, and that's probably because the bots weren't setup yet. I've not seen anyone say the situation was settling, and certainly haven't seen any evidence of that...

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury (12 Feb 2021)
Sheikah replied to Ronnie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah I'd agree with you there. In terms of the 3D Mario games I've ever played (which is all of them, pretty sure) this would be bottom for me. -
That's a fair point. I will say as well that PS5 can be transformative for playing some PS4 games as well, especially the likes of Days Gone (which I played recently and is a nice game) and Ghost of Tsushima - not sure if you've played them yet. It's troubling though that a scalper community made another bunch of sales a few days ago before they even went properly live on GAME's website. Sony really need to have some sort of system for selling these directly (tied to PSN accounts) as the retailers are doing a shoddy job.
-
Haha. Think DCubed beat me to it, but I'd suggest trying to get one whenever you can up til then to maximise your chances. I can't see them having fixed the stock issues by then.
-
This explains why I was able to make a tidy amount selling my copy a few weeks back! I couldn't figure it out as I'm sure I bought it for less than a tenner a few years ago.
-
I have yeah, completed them both. Nioh 2 I finished not long ago - had something like 110 hours on it but couldn't bring myself to get the platinum. It would involve a lot of grinding menial enemies with all the different weapons, unfortunately. They're both really great though.
-
Yeah so far I got platinums for all of them (Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1,2,3, Bloodborne and Sekiro). Also got the one for Dark Souls Remastered. You can probably tell but I really like the SoulsBorneSekiro games.
-
Hang in there, I can tell you that the feeling of difficulty definitely goes down a chunk as you progress. The combat in this game is sublime and better than Dark Souls in my opinion. There's one optional boss near the end game in a flashback sequence that is genuinely hard as nails, but apart from that everything is very accomplishable. If it helps, I got the platinum trophy in this so it's definitely within your reach!

People don't want Bioware to die, rather Anthem; they don't want to see a company throw good money after bad. It would also free them up to focus their efforts on things more worthwhile. I saw the comparison to No Man's Sky, in that they managed to turn that around, but that game is quite different. NMS didn't contain features that were promised so it was a fairly straightforward case of putting those features in to win back an audience. At its core, having a spaceship and visiting new planets is fun, so it had a nice foundation for being made into an interesting game. Anthem wasn't interesting, nor was it built by a small indie team that might justify being supported. I played the beta and really was not impressed. Although some people liked the combat the general what you were doing was not interesting; it felt as though it was borrowing design elements and systems from several different games and had no identity. It would need a massive overhaul to the point that you may as well put that effort into a new game not associated with a brand that has a bad reputation.
-
Inevitable closure. I didn't believe that they would see a complete overhauling through to completion. The name of this game now is toxic and there's nothing they can do to remedy it.
-
Yeah at present they do appear to be rather a gimmick. Far too thick and heavy when folded compared to a normal phone to be seriously considered.

Destruction AllStars (PS5, February 2021 as part of PS+)
Sheikah replied to drahkon's topic in Other Consoles
The maths makes sense when you think about it - Game Pass is a relatively new thing they are still pushing hard with £1 promotions to increase their subscriber base. We have seen recently that Microsoft plan to increase their prices once uptake is sufficient and the backlash not too severe. Sony don't need to give away games at a loss so don't, neither do Nintendo. They have got the games people want and that's all they really need. -
Yeah, and it's worth noting that PS4 could still be bought in a lot of regions at launch whereas PS5 sold out near immediately everywhere it has been sold. So really PS5 would have outsold PS4 if more stock were available.
-
Same, I bought this because it was cheap around then, and I knew it was getting the PS5 upgrade soon. Incredible offering for the month though.
-
You know that most of the anti-consumer things I listed are still happening right now? Including the attempt to rise the price yesterday. Their attempt to rise the price also plays into their Game Pass strategy - by increasing the price they will push people onto Game Pass. Game Pass is praised for being cheap but it's pretty clear once it has enough uptake they will up the price, just like they tried to do here with XBL Gold. And if it becomes the norm then people will lose their game ownership.
-
Worth bearing in mind that online gaming was free until they started charging for it, and now the other 2 console manufacturers have copied them. Up until now they also haven't allowed you to play F2P without a Gold subscription, and they tried to implement always online and no game sharing at the start of the X1 generation. And their first party games often have microtransactions. If anything they've always been at the forefront of anti-consumer moves.
-
Aye, this is the X1 policy reversals all over again. The arrogance never went anywhere.

Thanks for reminding me that this was out, I'd forgotten that he's pretty good at releasing his books quickly.
