Spelunky you can unlock permanent shortcuts too. So not even that.
-
Nice one, now you can cancel your GAME preorder. Not sure if you knew, but GAME charge £10 for delivery even if you collect in store.
-
Sure, but with a name like that it deserves an honourary mention.
-
You forgot Scat. Who doesn't like a good bit of Scat?
-
They will restock them at a few places I imagine. If I were you I'd just wait for Amazon as most other retailers have proven they can't be trusted at one point or another when it comes to console launches. If you remember with the Switch, a load of companies (like GAME, Nintendo store, ShopTo) all used DPD which caused a bottleneck and a lot of people didn't get their preorders at launch. Hopefully we won't see that again but at least Amazon have got their own delivery network.
-
Hey, not my fault you called them bucks.
-
Note that GAME charge a tenner for delivery now, even if you pick up from store. I would avoid those chumps like the plague.
-
I don't know, but Microsoft also recently tweeted with a dig about how their preorders were going to go smoothly. It would seem that their preorders were just as messed up...
-
No, you would need the Series X.

Again we will have to disagree on this but generally I think this country has done a poor job in educating people about the dangers of the credit mindset, and explains why a lot of people are in debt. The example you gave about feeling better about £29 a month more or less sums up the way a lot of people can look at the smaller number without doing the maths to see they're paying an extortionate amount more with credit (not saying you are that person, clearly you understand it, but that "live for the moment" way of thinking is common). For some things credit is absolutely vital (e.g. mortgages) or for people who literally can't get by otherwise, but I do think for a luxury purchase like a games console then some level of criticism is valid.
-
I think regarding the bolded bit, again I'd say this is down to a fairly common perception of credit rather than the reality that £700 has been committed to a purchase up front, regardless of how long the payment period is. If anything people should really feel they need to get more use out of the console if you use credit because you're paying £165 more overall. Not slamming credit for people who actually need it, but for a games console it feels fair to level some criticism at this pricing.

You have to wonder, would some of the people who made this mistake even know they got the wrong console. A lot of the games run on both X1 and Series consoles.
-
Yeah, I guess my point was that if you have reasonable savings it makes no sense to go All Access (the £29 a month is merely perception; the second you sign up for it you really are paying 700 quid). For people who would not be able to afford other things by spending £530 in one go, I totally understand why this would appeal, but just wanted to put out this information for people that might be otherwise unaware.
-
Including the random freezing in Majora's Mask I hope, eradicating all progress since the last time the song of time was played!
-
Can I ask, for the people wishing to order the Series X on All Access, is this because of the option to pay in installments? Just wondering, as on paper All Access is not a good deal. The £28.99 for 24 months totals £695.76. Instead if you buy the Series X up front (£449) and 2 years of Xbox Live Gold off CDKeys (£80) then upgrade this to Game Pass Ultimate (£1) via your Xbox that totals £530. If this is the desire to spread the cost then I can totally understand that, just wanted to bring it to people's attention as a difference of £165 is massive and worth pointing out. And listening to these stories of Klarna, this might be a better option!

It's gone out of stock now. Still, 3 hours on sale there isn't bad!
-
I was wondering about this. Series S seems to be in stock at far more places, and from what I heard from physical stores they got less S consoles than X. My thoughts are that early adopters don't tend to be the ones buying the cheaper console.
-
Is Microsoft Store a thing in Germany? Because they've had stock of the Series X the whole time over here in the UK.
-
Yeah, makes you wonder about the demand for the system. Both Xbox consoles are all still available too (about 3 hours later at the time of me posting this). Websites seemed to have gone down less with the Xbox preorders too and that's with everyone knowing exactly what time they would go on sale. I wonder how many systems Sony and Microsoft released for preorder in the first instance...

This is 2 big shocks for you within a week. The PS5 price and now this.

In terms of what they actually make you're not looking at many games - in all likelihood for most it'll be one Elder Scrolls game and one Fallout game (although Fallout hasn't been good in a while). Obviously these are just video games but it doesn't mean we can't talk about how this would be a bad move for gamers if their games become exclusive. Elder Scrolls games in particular are massively popular and make a lot of money, so hopefully they will remain multiplatform. Also in terms of your calculations, £250 is more like 8-10 games to me - like many I don't tend to buy games at full price. And I'm fully willing to wait for them to drop, too.
-
Are you suggesting blowing £250 on a lower spec console to play one game. Because I can't see even 5% of fans wanting to do that. Quite right too. Also regarding "I fail to see why this is suddenly an issue" - Maybe you don't remember then, because there was definitely a backlash against Tomb Raider going timed exclusive. Like I say, not all exclusives are equal. Sometimes exclusives are just a case of paying money to stop people having something rather than funding games so they exist in the first place.
-
Didn't say they should care, just putting this news into context. It's a bad move for gamers full stop - the vast majority can't afford multiple consoles to make sure they have all exclusives. Now there are good sides to exclusives in that sometimes they only get made/funded as a result of the backing of the console manufacturer. For instance with Horizon Zero Dawn, it was a game that nobody had any attachment to before it was released on account of it being a new IP. The trouble here is that Elder Scrolls is a massive franchise with many existing fans, who are now potentially shut out. It's hard to see any good side to this - I think even if I had Game Pass I wouldn't feel bad actually buying this game on account of how many years I might be playing it for. This is basically how I felt when Tomb Raider became timed exclusive for Xbox. Another case of a bad exclusive situation, IMO. FYI I feel the same way about FFXVI going to PS5 - although at least that is just a timed exclusive.
-
Their big games like Elder Scrolls did massive numbers before, it's not like they needed the extra cash from Microsoft. I don't see Microsoft bringing anything to the table here that they actually needed to make these games. More likely it's a case of Microsoft addressing the issue of not having many exclusives by buying Bethesda. As I say, this is bad for gamers.
-
Microsoft would need actual games to remaster to make use of them.
