  1. Microsoft could just jump a number if they want to, like with Windows 10.
  2. Surely not, they can't do these prices remember. [emoji14]
  3. I'm pretty sure they have actually said that before though at other events (that there'll be no new PS5 news).
  4. Well played, pretty sure you tricked me and Ronnie at least. [emoji14]
  5. You're a fake.
  6. So this is them saying price won't be announced? Seems strange, if you want people to not preorder an Xbox then you should really be telling them the price of your console before Xbox preorders go live. Unless the PS5 is going to be more expensive.
  7. The tide is very much still with them at the moment, unless something goes really wrong in the next few months. People forget that having a good price isn't everything - you need games to play as well.
  8. So Xbox Series S is as next gen as the Series X? And if I have an Xbox One S I can only buy an Xbox Series S?
  9. I think it's the faces that look a bit budget.
  10. If I had a pound for every time I heard that I would have three pounds.
  11. Couple of things - Sometimes when I hit reply, the box to type in at the bottom of the page doesn't appear, and I have to refresh the page to try again and see if the text entry box expands itself so I can type in it. Second, whenever @will' thanks a post, I see some weird symbols instead of the comma in his name. See below: Both these issues are on Chrome using a PC.
  12. I don't know what it's supposed to be but for the topic title at least, "Xbox Series" sounds incomplete. I think "Xbox Series S / X" (or "Xbox Series S | X", like Microsoft put it sometimes) works better.
  13. I'm confused, what's the Xbox Series? We don't need any more confusion Cube!
  14. I don't think they'll be able to go anywhere near as low as 400/300 dollars (assume US?). I've been thinking £399 for the digital edition as the best case and £449 (to match XSX) for the standard edition. Perhaps going to £499 for the standard edition, but hopefully not. I know Dcubed thinks it's impossible for them to sell for this low, but can we really see them competing if they sell their system for 550, 600 pounds? Or whatever it's truly worth. It's not so much of a case of "they can't" but more a case of "they have to". I also know that Sony have sold at a loss before (they did with the PS4) and are willing to do so if they believe they can make the money back with game/service sales, which with the digital edition they are poised to do quite well.
  15. I think it's likely Microsoft have had a hand in it. All the AC Valhalla promotion/reveals so far suggests a loose affiliation with Microsoft, similar to what Destiny have with Sony (including advertising the two Xbox versions first in that image, and promoting Xbox's upgrade path). All this stuff looks to have been already in place. After the Halo Infinite delay I suspect Microsoft have had talks to try and get new games ready for their system at launch, because otherwise they have nothing. Pulling a game release forward with so little time to go can't have been any easy thing.
  16. Yep, this is Microsoft making sure there's something new to play on the consoles at launch.
  17. It must be? Else why allow people to convert so much XBL Gold time into Game Pass? No doubt they are happy to have secured a customer for that many years. You make it sound like this is a glitch in the system that they are not aware of. They are absolutely down with it. Probably more to do with the fact they've started a new generation and want to actually start making money from Game Pass, rather than closing any loophole.
  18. I know that, but the point still stands that when you actually look at your options the finance option isn't actually good value for money. Some people on here were commenting how the finance deal was good value so you'd think they might not be aware of this method. Also the 1 pound to upgrade isn't a loophole, it's a promotion run by Microsoft.
  19. It isn't though - like you say, there's a much cheaper way to get Game Pass that you are unable to take advantage of if you sign up for finance. In reality Microsoft have basically just upped the cost of their service which makes it look better than it is by comparison.
  20. I think it's more that some people were remarking how good value the Series S was on finance, and that it was cheaper than buying the console outright. Which isn't true because there's a much, much cheaper way to buy Game Pass.
  21. Oh yeah, don't worry, I'm agreeing with you.
  22. Can we change "PSN Number" to "PSN ID" which you see when you click a member's name? PSN Number sounds like someone's gran referring to their PIN.
  23. Yeah, that's true. But at this point in time, the finance option for the Series S is not good value because a much cheaper option exists. You could buy the system for 249 then buy two 12-month XBL sub codes for 80 quid total (from CDKeys), and convert it all to Game Pass. Total cost 330 quid.
  24. Technically there is - you can buy a year of Xbox Live Gold and convert it to Game Pass time for 1 pound. That works out ridiculously cheaper than paying monthly sub costs. That also shows this finance deal as not being that great, because you're essentially paying a lot more for Game Pass than you need to.
  25. If you're someone who uses the service the whole year then subscribing for just a month here or there is actually quite bad value for money. The cost to sub to something for one month will always be more expensive than a twelfth of the cost of an annual sub.
