It's quite weird, Sony first party games usually don't have much of this microtransaction nonsense in. Wonder what gives?

Enjoy, Uncharted 2 is a great game, and I'd argue it's the only great Uncharted game. The opening train sequence was fantastic.

Elden Ring (25th February 2022) | Shadow of the Erdtree (21st June 2024)
Sheikah replied to Julius's topic in Other Consoles
Yeah, I think in my case my build (pretty much pure mage) was just not compatible with that boss at all, which was a bit of a shame. My choice was to either completely respec my character just to beat it then switch back (a hassle), or go the hoarfrost route. -

I should note my primary reason for speccing hoarfrost was to defeat the wanker in the gaol up above on the separated clifftop where there's lots of dragons and crystal enemies. You can't summon there. It worked a charm though - and just in time by the looks of it. -

Hoarfrost stomp nerfed, right after I actually started using it yesterday. Typical. -
Maybe for normal games sure, but this is a game made by FromSoftware, its reputation precedes it. It's a bit like saying Mario Odyssey needs more exposure as otherwise people might not have heard of it. Now it definitely is anti-consumer to have limited print runs but it's difficult to argue it's smart in this case from a business perspective. Several years down the line they're not interested in marketing it in physical stores anymore, they're way more interested in seeing sales from the digital storefront. Having fewer (and therefore far more expensive) pre-owned copies in circulation helps them achieve that.

Visions of crazy, but hole. I've gone totally the other way now. The vast, vast majority of games you get from eBay now you probably wouldn't even know they were used. Most people now I think just play the game then sell it. Discs also seem way harder to scratch. I've also made a load of money since I started selling PS4 games and a few Switch games (and my PS4 Pro since I got a PS5) since around the start of the pandemic. I've made a grand doing this over the past year or so, really crazy to think I never did this before and left games sitting on the shelf unplayed. If you can get round the need to have sealed games and whatnot there's loads of money to saved and made. Loads, I tell ye. You could even sell your games and buy them again way down the line when they're worth peanuts. There's physical games I've sold too like the Crash remaster trilogy that are now on the Plus Collection that I literally had no reason to keep, yet still got 25 quid for it.
-
I don't think it's that crazy, most (>50%) people buy digital now, so from their view the extra expense of printing physical copies probably isn't worth it. It also sounds fairly smart from a business point of view - reduce the physical supply to push up the price of pre-owned physical copies to the point where people buy digital instead. Digital sales means profit for them, pre-owned sales leaves them with nothing.
-
Why does it need to be sealed? Once you take the wrapper off it will look the same as a good condition used copy.

Wishing you all the best @Cookyman, really sorry about your situation . We're all hoping for your speedy recovery and that you're out of there soon.

Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp (21st April 2023)
Sheikah replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Ported/remade? I'd be gobsmacked if Switch games weren't mostly compatible with Switch 2. It's the way games consoles are going now - people are expecting their games to work on the next console. Anyway, let's all look forward to quoting all these sensationalising posts in future when this game is eventually released. -

So they'll do what you've been saying they often do then - release it on Switch 2 instead. It'll all be fine. [emoji14] -
General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

They're mocking it by making a really good game that goes on to sell millions. What a way to mock it! -
I should note that I put the Xiaomi EU ROM on it as soon as I got it, which is really simple to do and very much recommended. Removes all bloat and leaves the whole thing feeling very slick. I also put Nova launcher on it which makes it look much cleaner. When I consider that I got a Poco F3 for £250, I just can't see myself every paying a lot for a phone again. It really is diminishing returns beyond that. You can pay 3 times more for nowhere near 3 times as much phone.
-
Not sure whether they are available readily in Germany but Xiaomi phones are basically unbeatable at the moment in the budget range. For the specs they simply cannot be beaten. For instance, this deal on the Redmi 10 would put it in the 150 EUR territory, but not sure if they would deliver to you: link. I have a Xiaomi Poco F3 which was a bit more expensive (£250) but it's incredible for the price. It has a similar level of power and display as phones costing three times as much or more.

OP? I'd say it's very glass cannon. In order to do a lot of damage you really need to pump INT while sacrificing vigour and endurance, which makes survivability a fair bit harder. Worth it though if you like feeling powerful and casting flashy spells! -

Do what I did - throw away everything you know and become a mage. Assuming you're not normally a mage, ofc. [emoji14] -
I can't be alone in hoping that the Switch doesn't last another 5 years, and hoping that the successor comes along sooner rather than later? After revisiting Breath of the Wild not long ago it felt noticeably more choppy than many more recent games I've become accustomed to. I'd love to see a more powerful Switch successor.

As someone who has played a large chunk of this game now I can say this take is absolutely not the case, in my experience. There has been no compromise on the tight level design - the exact same feel to the areas and dungeons is still there. Rather than anything being taken away, what we have here is an addition. You still have what you had before in terms of the way many areas are designed, but now you have something else too. The game is now not just a linear experience like what we saw with Demon's Souls. What we have now is a real sense of exploration - there's tons of caves, dungeons and totally optional areas that aren't obvious how to find. There's discoveries you can make by being at the right place at the right time of day. And while there is a guidance system to help track the main bosses there's so much that is up to you to discover. There's a reason this game is going to smash every game of the year award going; the same reason Zelda BOTW did. It's taking an existing, slightly overdone game series and making it feel fresh again. What I have noticed is that big changes to series don't always go down well, like with this game, BOTW and Pokémon. There are people that want to see more or less the same type of game every sequel. I'm just glad that game developers don't listen to those people or we would never have had Elden Ring or BOTW. [emoji14] -
Anyone know what happens to credit left on your account after that point? Pay for the office bubbly perhaps?

Just think of it as traversing Hyrule field and you'll be fine. In all seriousness, for me this game is nothing like most open worlds in that its environment is packed full of unique and interesting content. There's nothing copy and paste about, and I never get that feeling that it's endless wandering through boring stuff to get to interesting stuff. -

I've been loving this game (although admittedly haven't been able to play anywhere near as much as I'd like; the downside of having a child). Because I use Tapatalk mostly to browse this forum I've mostly been avoiding this thread just because spoiler tags don't work with it. I've done something I've never done before with Souls - I'm playing a mage this time. Magic feels very good and quick and there's systems in place to make it even more enjoyable now (like restoring your FP flasks after you clear a group of enemies). My only slight criticism is performance (on PS5) - it's a bit jittery and really not maintaining around 60 FPS which is a shame, as it really should be able to do it. But the open world is amazing, the amount of secrets when exploring is extraordinary and it feels like they've really torn up the rule book when it comes to Souls. Also, fuck "that" treasure chest. -
No, Essential is the same price as what Plus is now. Plus already costs 10 dollars a month if you are to pay by the month, instead of annually.

Quiet, you detractors, lest you be tarnished. On Friday there will be a reckoning. The prophecy has said so.
