Same here...first site I hit with it. I dont like that fat navigation bar, anybody seen any option to hide it ?

The media will always be nobs, its what they do best... Depends on what the terms useless means...If the console was set up in the living room constantly with the gas fire full on, yes it would be rendered totally useless. When I consider the situation I am not surprised it didnt operate correctly.....Other than that, the hardware has worked flawlessly since day one. Its definitely not Nintendos fault that ppl have got this twattish tendency to stick fairylights on every thing in sight. Theres just no need...
-
The other night the gas fire was on full belt in our living room and it was badly messing with the sensitivity of the controller...I can see plenty of problems arising in households where moving the arrangement of the room just to play video games isnt an option.

Cue Daily Star or Sun stories with gratuitous usage of quotes on the lines of: "He asked if I would like to play with his white Wii / Sex Wii". Back to the topic....I would say it is working, generally my parents dont play videogames, (My mother dabbles in those 10 billion in one brick game things, but thats her limit), I havent seen my father play a videogame full on since the Binatone went out of fashion. The Wii has managed to usher in a new era when it manages to get both of them playing Wii play 9 ball against each other whilst I am getting ready to go out.

Thought so.... I dont think it was the result of a broken wii strap if it is genuine, judging by how the wiimote is weighted, the only way that could have genuinely happened is if the person was stood too close to the tv set and the controller was still in their hand. (Either that or it was a total fluke it wasnt embedded battery end first)
-
The wiimote embedded in the TV sounds like the one posted earlier this week at a site called wiidamage.com http://www.wiidamage.com/category/tvs/

Cheers for the response. I think I may give it a go, PSO gave me many hours of entertainment over 3 systems....just hope it doesnt swallow too much of my life, lol.

Whats the verdict with this one then, worth buying or not ?

Marble Madness 2006...... Not really surprising with the Atari name being attached to it though.

Sendit.com have them from tomorrow apparently. Its a decent Wii carrying bag I looking for at the moment. Dont like the idea of £30 for the official one (I admit I have only checked with Gamestation yet, and they have none)

Nintendo spent a lot of time trying to sell the console as a device that would be incredibly power efficient so it could be left on 24/7 as well as being a selling point to those parents/consumers who could be into the whole 'tree hug the planet' thing or 'save pennies off the old electric bill' brigade. To the less educated, a strange blue glow being emitted from the console constantly could be seen as the opposite of efficient. Its a damn shame they didnt design the Wiimote with the same efficiency in mind...

It will be interesting to see what the next zelda brings, but as stated earlier in the thread, guessing what N's intentions are would be futile at this stage....I trust the company far enough to know it wont be shabby though. The music could have been programmed better, I agree, but im a picky sound engineer......Orchestration would not necessarily improve the feel though and would just push the budget higher and those resources would be better used in the graphics, innovation or gameplay department (Proof of the pudding with soundtracks is in cinema productions, a minute amount of films use orchestration because music tech with a good programmer/engineer/musician can be indistinguishable from the real thing).

The concept is working, all it requires now is for the developers to get some inspiration for what the controller is capable of and act on it.... If they can learn from the myriad of past marketing mistakes and that dont give a shit attitude they all too often display, they have it in the bag imho.

I would have thought most fanboys arms would have been ok with the amount of masturbating people have been doing over the release of this gadget....

Lol.....It took a new machine, but I suppose I am, A little bit less pessemistic than last time... Good to see you and hope you are keeping well Im certain there are problems with this game.....it played fine yesterday, today the cursor was going to the ceiling and the controls were not responding correctly. load Zelda or Wii sports and it work fine...More bugs than that tired Im a celebrity show imho.

Has anyone noticed the guy doing the voice overs is the same one on Monkey ball (GC version) ?
-
I wonder if the units had varying updates required.....I have just connected mine to wifi and the first update was for screen burn-in reduction, no mention of SD management, but the second and third updates were Parental control and wii shop. I wonder if the parental control update allows the world to block or bar their parents from hogging the console ? :p

They should rewrite the game, get rid of the insects and replace with corpses and zombies.....Arm the player with various sex toys that are controlled with the wii-mote and change the title to NecroPhilia..
-
Dunno if its 'normal'.....but the action is nice and smooth on my setup. I can rotate the remote 360º and the pointer rotates with it smoothly, no jittering or jumping. As for the noise issue, I havent noticed any whirring or clicking either...the device is a lot quieter than my GC in all honesty. Maybe the thing is about to blow up.
-
Wow moment: twisting the controller on the Channels / Menu and realising the pointer twists too.... Pointless, but one of those little details I like.

Had about 45 mins with mine atm. Not a bad piece of kit upon first impression, but there is still time for it to really impress me....No problems with the wiimote or basic set up. I intend to get it set up to the wireless network later with the wifi max (been sat there for months cos I couldnt be arsed to set it up). Wii sport/Zelda/CoD3 all seem ok games, but it would be unfair for me to comment due to the time I have spent with each game (ie. minutes). It will get a thorough testing this weekend though, as tonight I am going out for works xmas meal.

Being that I have the day off work tomorrow, I plan to have a lie in, casually saunter into town for about 2pm and pick up my Wii and a few games...I have waited this long for it, cant see the issue with waiting a few more hours. Gamestation will hold my pre-order for 48 hours so I figure I can strategically work out my time of purchase to piss someone off who is really desperate to get their hands on one. [evil laugh] muahahah [/evil laugh]

Popped into Gamestation earlier to see if they were doing the midnight launch thang to be informed there wasnt enough interest to bother opening... Saying that, maybe its for the best cos my intention was to go and have a few drinks in town before heading off to purchase the console. Then I thought about the consequences of being pissed in charge of a credit card at launch...
