Ahhh, lots of the cool regulars having birthdays it seems! Happy Buffday Dante, give us some news!
-
What on earth is this all about eh? Kind of a vague post, who are you??
-
I did notice that actually yeah, I was a bit dissappointed in it for doing it like that too, but I guess the whole idea of it is to make good and emotional watching. To hear the story of someone who nearly had something terrible happen to them only it didn't because somebody stepped in and everyone lived happily ever after, well, I guess it's the kind of thing we assume/expect is going on already. I did like the fact that Liam's mother showed conviction and confidence in what her son did, even though it cost him his life, and she wouldn't change that. It makes me wonder though if the film did more to encourage people, or discourage them from helping those in need...

Haha nah, that first girl who was telling her story about the kid on the bus well seemed like it at first. I'm hoping the others weren't(I'd presume not for two who were victims, rather nasty looking pictures of some of them). The point is there anyway, surely? People actually do just act like that, standing by and not doing anything. It's amazing how many people say they would do something though. As for the thing with a kid in a shopping centre, that's just the problem, it's sad that people are too scared to do anything cos of how it might look, and the fact it MIGHT look like that to alot of people is just as bad! However, saving a kid being beaten down harsh on a bus, I should have thought it was an obvious choice.

Just watched Resi 5, and currently on Dead Rising, kind of tolerable and occasional snigger, but much funnier stuff is out there. I like it for the ones I know, though!

Happy birthday to ye both! Excellente members, hope you has funtimes! Excellent title btw Tellyn ! -
Or an indication of some latent necro desires...

The whole thing made me rather sad, it's like they said in it, it just shows a...total lack of humanity, really. I think the stories about the kids on the buses were the worst, to have it happen to you so young(I've seen rather a similar situation myself). I know things like hearing about that guy might put someone off, but that's exactly the problem, people are too scared to do anything these days. I do believe someone on here got knifed intervening in something once, yet they said they'd do it again too, and I think that's a brilliant attitude to have(as silly as it sounds).

Some of you may remember my router(D-Link DI-524) having some silly wireless problems a while back, I apparently managed to fix this but upgrading the firmware, though now the router will randomly restart/reboot itself all by itself, which whilst being less frequent than the wireless drops were, is annoying and affects the whole network, wired and wireless. So basically I'm thinking to look to get a new one. I don't know much about routers though! I'm presuming they all do the same job these days, and that they're all equally efficient, but does anyone know of a cheap, yet good, router? Basically just want to avoid getting a cheap one and finding it to be shit (Also, dunno if it matters but it just needs to be a router, no modem and stuff built in, I'm on cable with a modem) So far I'm looking at these two; http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6753887/c_1/1|cat_12108629|Clearance+Office%2C+PCs+and+phones|12745918/Trail/searchtext%3EROUTER.htm http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6750392/c_1/1%7Ccat_12108629%7CWireless+networking%7C12108636/c_2/2%7Ccat_12108636%7CCable+routers%7C12108641/Trail/searchtext%3EROUTER.htm Maybe this one if I can get my dad to put towards it; http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6757340/c_1/1|cat_12108629|Wireless+networking|12108636/c_2/2|cat_12108636|Cable+routers|12108641/Trail/searchtext%3EROUTER.htm

I just decided to try and check this out on catchup, a mate of mine said he'd seen it the other night and thought I'd relate. For anyone who didn't see it, you should really watch it, here's a linky; http://www.channel4.com/programmes/would-you-save-a-stranger/catch-up#2871668 As for me, if I can help then I hope I always will. Too many people say they will, and it's amazing how many people don't(as evidenced by some of the stories in that programme), it's disgusting how people can see bad stuff happening and just walk on by and let it happen.
-
I actually never really watched the first season much, caught like two episodes on off bits though, and downloaded it all t'other day. Watched this thursday night though, pretty genius. As soon as I saw this thread I wanted to just come in and post 'I just punched a fish to death' lol.

Aww man, that sucks! What're you gonna do now? Look for a similar sort of job, just any job, or what? I think you should do some art stuff commisions on the side at least, some of your stuff in the creative gallery looked really fun! Alas, I have no need of arty stuff, but I'm sure someone out there does!

I just got tagged in this photo on facebook from like, 5 years ago or something silly, I feel like I look massively different and frighteningly the same, at the same time. *needs to find similar recent to compare*

Irony maybe? Looks...kind of interesting, actually. I like explosions, I'd probs need to see some more gameplay footage before I was sold on it, too. Also, is it sposed to be written ExploDemon? Whats your brother actually doing towards it btw?
-
If by bullshit you mean TOTALLY LEGITIMATE IMPORTANT DEBATE then...uhh...yeah. Any other hilarious aprils fools pulled by anyone? Beyond this one, I found my day decidedly lacking.
-
Hahah, I did exactly the same! It was very well played, hit us hard and fast! I actually came up with the best april fools joke a few years ago, but have never had the balls to carry it out. Basically, pick a nice room that can fit your family(maybe a friend too, a best one), plant yourself a camera. Gather them all together for some 'srs bsns' big news, make a long speech taking ages to get to the point and.....Come out. The camera is for the reactions. As I said, I've never had the balls to do it as I fear I may implant the doubt forever in my parent's mind, and whilst I have no problems with people's orientation, I'd be a little sad if my parents secretly though I was gay forever when I wasn't. So anyway, ReZ, you know what you need to do. You've got 12 hours remaining... If they do then they're week and don't deserve to be here! Though it'd be pretty funny if they did and found out in like 6months they left the site cos of aprils fools.
-
Scared the shit out of me for about 10 seconds, you fools! Oh wait, I guess I'm the fool. Damn 10second fool...
-
I saw it, but I loved it. I knew exactly what Murray meant with it, though it was arguably a little crude in its nature, hence I declined to comment and dwell upon it. Think you guys need to lighten up. Especially you, ReZ, you big serious bastard. Frozen coke tends to do that, all the sugar gathers at the top and you basically get this little explosion of concentrate sugar and caffiene and fizz and at first it's kind of ok(cos naturally you stick your mouth over it to contain it) but then it's just all sickly and you're buggered cos if you ain't eating it, it's stickying you up. I froze fizzy bottle drinks alot as a kid.

-
I'm glad you said something first, cos I was gonna say there's something likey about you two! You look like a proud gay soldier couple, meant in the nicest way possible. I love it!

Hmm, all I know is that George Carlin is Rufus, Rufus is a legend. Rufus appears to have his own opinions, those of you disliking him seem to have your own opinions too. Hmm. I'll leave that one there. As for me and Earth Hour, well, I was the busiest I've been in a long time on saturday, but believe I was venturing on my way to the pub then(srsly they should do it on like a middle of the week weekday night) so I didn't take part. If I had been at home, or with people at a house, I probably would have taken part! Why? To help 'save the planet' or raise awareness? No, not really tbh, I'd only do it because sitting in the dark with some candles and cool people should be pretty awesome. I'd do it more for the welcome break it'd give us from the luxuries we've come to take so easily as given, just to remind us what we have. I'd like to try and 'save the planet' but I also believe indeed that it'll survive without us. I know that's not an excuse to pillage the fuck out of it, and I'm not saying it couldn't survive in a better way either. Isn't it nature though? Why are we trying so hard to fight this? Our effects upon the earth will just be the natural path of evolution for it. Whilst I think it's very near impossible to stop our 'destroying the planet' that doesn't mean we shouldn't do our bit if we feel like it/it makes us feel better. I'll be honest though, I don't give a crap about global warming, all this stuff about greenhouse gases and their being the biggest cause. I'm not saying it isn't true or it isn't the case, but really...all we know of it is what we've been told in the media and by the scientists and I know for a fact that science can be rather...flawed sometimes, for want of a better word. I'm living in a different time to that of 100, 500, 1000 years ago, and that's due to humans. This is just another thing due to humans, that people in the future will have to live with and/or under, it'll be an evolution and they'll survive through it just like humans always have. I see it all as just part of the evolution. EDIT: I'd say we aren't destroying the planet anyway, we're destroying/damaging the present environment.

13 year old "thought it would be good to have a baby"
Rummy replied to EEVILMURRAY's topic in General Chit Chat
I got that too! Their email newsletter(dunno when i signed up and havent cancelled) said he wasn't the daddy and DNA tests proved it or something, but after some poking around on their site all I found was something about a judge's ruling that the results or findings of the DNA test can't be made public, something to do with them all being young or some shit, I dunno. I'm guessing he definitely ain't the dad, but I've got no idea who is. -
What internet, what router, hows the upstairs PC connect, is it wireless? Have you tried it with a wire? Would anyone else in your house have fiddled with things? A barrelroll is indeed highly advised.
-
Ahh, I seee. We don't use proper sockets for the aerial inputs in my house, just a wire appearing out of a wall or a hole! All our TVs run off one aerial in the loft with a signal booster/splitter to send it to like...5 different places in the house atm. When we got the VM cable box we ran cable underneath the house to the two main rooms with TVs, in case we ever decided to move the box/get a second. It's quite easy to run it as I said, it's just coaxial(aerial) cable with a certain connector on the end, of course we had alot of it cos of our previous aerialings If you're anywhere near DIY inclined, or even then you don't have to be majorly, you could do it yourself(though for the aerial ON the roof, I dunno). I know my mate's dad has one of those changey remote dealies though, I'll ask him about it if I manage to speak to him at some point.
