  1. Kind of like a tiny little mite!
  2. Sometimes when I see photos in the User Image Gallery I get this strange feeling in my pant region. I'm not sure why it happens! I've got/do get that falling sleep thing pretty often, especially when I'm sleeping in a silly position(such as sitting up, as recently occured to me alot due to being on planes and generally tired). I get a shiver out of nowhere sometimes too, makes me recoil(feels like a snap, like a tiny shiver getting worse and coming to an end with a spasmy jolt) like an absolute spaz, no matter how much I fight it. Sometimes I feel my pulse at random times too, like in a part of my body, tis kinda weird. One I was going to ask, anyone ever get that thing where you can feel a part of your body twitching, but it always seems to stop when you look at said part? I get it from time to time, but like only twice have I actually seen the twitching when I've looked.
  3. No, the company, can see more than just what you're listening to. They can see who you are, where you are, they can track you and trace you. I say company, and I speak in present tense, that's regarding last.fm. The RIAA now has this information as of when the data was sent. It isn't just them seeing 'S.C'G listened to F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X'. THEY can use the information garnered from your last.fm lists to bring litigation against you for copyright infringement if they so suspect it. They can trace your IP to your provider, and request disclosure of your details and find out who you are, where you live, and various other bits of information your ISP may hold on you. I may be mistaken in my post, but I believe this is what the issue is.
  4. And this is why I stopped with last.fm as soon as it changed hands.
  5. It's not bloat on Vista causing problems, the problems have been ever since I had the laptop, and Vista, I can't think of it being much else's fault other than either Acer's(most of which crap I recently uninstalled) or Vista's. The only means I have of re-installing Vista...is to the state the laptop came in, with all their shit on it too. I don't have a disk either, I believe I made some 'Recovery Disks' with a couple of DVDs or something, but I also understand there is a recovery partition hidden on the hard drive. I've already uninstalled lots of stuff I don't need, and cut down my startup through msconfig, thing is still shit as a bugger. As for this sleep timer thing, do all drives just automatically have it? Cos the drive I have is an old PATA drive from an old laptop that broke that I stuck into a cheap enclosure I bought. In regards to Gizmo's post and partitioning, I have no idea about partitioning! Second to that, I believe the internal drive is already split into two partitions, and actually 3 if there's that hidden recovery partition I mentioned, I don't want to lose anything from those just in case I get left with a buggered laptop and no other OS to install. As for the saving files onto the external drive, it's small(like 40 or 60GB). What I want to be able to do is have a small drive with windows installed that I can boot from, then a bigger drive for all my files. The internal drive is 120GB, but SATA, which is why I can't just swap the drives and do it that way.
  6. Cost Cuter! The prettier way to shop! welsh_gamer and caris's views are my favourites so far, I've still not got round to my own yet, though I had a look earlier and my mind had thought it more spectacular than it really appears.
  7. Basically just curious if it's possible to do so. I have Vista, which is really starting to grind on me sometimes, things get slow and I can't work out why and I think it's vista's fault and/or some of the crap on here though I've tried to reduce alot of it. However, I keep contemplating getting an old HD, sticking it in the laptop and installing XP on it(cos I kinda don't wanna ruin the HD in the laptop already/lose any of my stuff). Only, I just found out the external HD I have is 2.5" PATA, and I'm fairly sure the laptop one's SATA, so I wouldn't be able to just pop one in and do it like that. I might just invest in a SATA drive, and a SATA enclosure then swap them round like, but I was mainly wondering if it'd be possible to install windows to and then run off of an external hard drive(the PATA ones I have), or are the speeds just going to be too slow/any other issues? I'm sure it's not gonna be very doable, but I'd like some peace of mind as to knowing why it would be silly.
  8. I'm in a similar boat! Didn't realise you were a kenter too. When I was little I never used to say I was from london cos my address said Kent and I didn't understand the thing about london boroughs, but when I say Kent everyone thinks I live in the country with sheepcows or something, silly people. Accentwise, though I'm not sure where it came from, I seem to have acquired more of a saaf eest landan(jokes, not that bad) accent over the last 5 years or so, tis very strange that I gradually just got this weird london accent, cos it didn't come from my parents or anything.
  9. I've got a flat roof outside my room, I might stand on that and take a big photo of what I can see. It's nothing special, but I guess it would be a pretty awesome photo to take anyway.
  10. Erm, I'll try to cap later. When this problem first happened I went through every single setting in the forum settings one by one I think(all posts per page options at least) and it didn't fix anything. I have at least 2 phantom pages in User Image Gallery at present, on max views per page(40?). On the forum view, where it shows posts and views per thread, it SAYS the thread has 13,613 posts, however the last post in that thread is post #13548. That's...63 more than there is, which'd mean at least one more page, if not two. I spose we'd never see if the thread was going beyond 2 pages extra though, would we?
  11. Jay, how soon do you need the list in? I'm currently working on mine, trying to think of awesome/original suggestions, and also awaiting one suggestion from a friend as she did an awesome job of helping me last time I'm letting her have one of my BISH challenges. V: Duly noted, will be done by tomorrow.
  12. But...but...my dad did invent the beard?! Jokes aside, I totally agree with Mr.Brooker there, it's funny the contrast of that(and one that can't be easily raised due to Godwin's Law and such things), but interesting no less. I actually sit on two sides of the fence, there are growing problems with britain, but the BNP and such similar views are most certainly not the answer. (Also, totally agree with Pyxis on the Asian thing, never got why a term so broad is used to encompass south and east asians, I always find asian on tinternets to mean east asian, I have nothing to go with! Yet then there IS things like asian networks, referring solely to south asian, tis all strange)
  13. Dissappear'd over le Pond, back in 10.

  14. Heh, pretty awesome game, tho jay phails at the band element :P (please tell me he never tried to break musics...or maybe do?!) Just gonna fart some life into this thread with another one to guess(even though I won't be here to confirm it) with a bit of a long shot one. PS Large and little?
  15. I was gonna make that, along with a joke about Moria, but oh well! You can wear it whilst you go and get your sword gilt.
  16. What about his uncle, fill?
  17. Any idea when this is starting? I'm heading to NYC tomorrow for 10 days, so if it's in those 10 days, I'll have to give my suggestions and participations after, cos I don't think I'm gonna get much internetty computer access.
  18. Does it happen on all computers on the connection and with all files over 30MB or just some certain ones? Not that I'm likely to help you find a solution from this, just thinking some more info might be handy.
  19. Quite close to like Charing Cross/Leicester Square iirc, I think I've been there once, and walked past it tons of times I just never remember if that's the place I think it is.
  20. I've totally lost track of who is and isn't coming, and inevitably stuck loads of people on the definite list cos they've been talking about plans! I reckon one of all you definites should probably start looking into your accomodation things if you're hostelling it up, somebody take chaaaarge! Also, Just been perusing the list of maybes, has anyone seen Strider or nightwolf around lately? Any maybes on there who aren't maybes anymore? None of this really matters, it's still gonna be an epic meet, but y'kno, just nice to know who's gonna be there. EDIT: Nevermind, found Strider! Posting in all the threads I had been skipping over it seems.
  21. No, a bag as in do you just turn up with bottles of drinks for presents without a proper gift bag? Do you give people cards just like that with no envelope? I actually didn't realise you were serious, and am kind of confused where all this criticism came from! It's not like it's the cheapest bottle of wine out there(and actually in my opinion, it IS the best Asti I've had so far except for some pink stuff someone said was Asti but I don't think that actually was despite a somewhat similar taste). What exactly is it that you're judging here, and moreso...why?? I'm a bit lost. If you're some fine wine connosieur and I've offended you, I do most apologise.
  22. Ah, I didn't mean to point any fingers as such btw, I know these discussions tend to get a massive range of opinions expressed. I do totally agree btw, and I absolutely loved it when I read about that thing Flink said, think it was some newsagent in Notts, he refused to serve a customer who didn't speak english even though he wasn't english himself. Now, had it been someone who wasn't an immigrant, the papers would have hailed it as racist, and even then I think some papers still gave him flak, but I agreed with him somewhat. I agree about us going abroad too, it's not hard to make some effort unless you're just too damned lazy. I understand it can be hard to pick up a second language at an older age, but even if you don't grasp it too well then at least try, or make some effort elsewhere. The muslim clothing thing though...hmm, it's ever so tough. I'm a bit undecided on it atm. Haha, delightful. I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I see things like that, honestly.
  23. I hope you aren't poking fun at my Asti Daft, that is some damn fine stuff dammit!
  24. I'd still definitely recommend that Martini branded Spumante Asti(it'll be with the sparkling white wines), was down the alchy aisle in asda earlier and it was like £6, plus I'd recommend spending a quid or so on a bottle gift bag thing to give it in. It's a nice sparkling sweetish white wine, so it tastes nice too! Plus, even if they don't know anything about wine or whatnot, the brand should be enough to make it look like you made some decent effort and know what you're doing
  25. I have read like, all the posts in this thread, a damn lot of them. Alot of it kind of off topic but rather good/important stuff to be discussing. I won't comment much on war and soldiers and armies and murder, the circumstances are murky, but I'm sure murder still does occur within armed forces. Yes, I do mean murder. This, I dunno...I found it sort of contradictory to itself. Asking for tolerance intergration and acceptance of culture, when one won't even take it himself? Hypocritical no less, the biggest problem with the country maybe. Your claim of a majority of people on your course who want to work, compared with your post about the wasters in your class acting like children. Why is it that such a majority is not standing against this minority of wasters, if that's the case? Onto the subject of immigration. We are a country and a nation, and no country or nation can ever survive if its outgoings are more than its incomings, I'm sure that's true and I'm sure that's simple logic and maths. Thus, I feel any immigrant admitted/accepted into the country should give to the country at least what they take, if after say X amount of time, they are not, then look to not have them in the country or cut them off from the government's support. Judge their application and acceptance upon what they could or can offer, but not as anything extra compared to a british born national, on an equal measurement. However, that leads to a problem, one which I'm not sure if Dan Dare was hinting at earlier. The arugments of people 'milking' the state and in particular it seems to be implied that it is immigrants doing so, how many 'british' people are doing so in comparison? How many of these have actually contributed more than they have taken out? Same for the immigrants, also. This talk of the 'cheaper' polish/european etc workers, were they actually cheaper, or just better at their jobs than the british people they're 'replacing' and 'taking' jobs from? I realise if you pay two people the same wage but one does twice as much as the other, they are then effectively cheaper. That's no different to the job market in the current climate(and previously) however surely, even between two british people themselves? What about the ones coming and 'stealing' the jobs that no british person wishes to do? Someone, I believe twas Moogle in the quoted post above, referred to a flocking behaviour of certain ethnicities to certain areas. Is this really so straighforward? Is it really so much and such a conscious effort to not mingle with the larger crowd of the country? Are you sure about the answer you just gave in your head? Really? Reason it through and figure out why you're so sure, does it make rational sense? I fear alot of assumptions and judgements are being made, mainly upon hearsay and stereotypes, just as someone else mentioned. I think, theres a bit too much nationalism sometimes, I think it contributes to the problems and hearsay. I'm not fully confident in that, I've not looked into it. I've been the subject of baseless racism before though, which leans me towards it. It reminds me of St Georges and as much as I'd love to, I don't tend to celebrate St George's day publicly because I find there's always people who seem to have the idea that being 'English' is synonymous with being White. I'll end with a brief story from this year's; Somewhat ironically(in the wrongly used sense of the word) this year I was heading to my friend's on the bus and a local town/centre was nearly shut down and traffic was very slow because of a massive fight down there, apparently between some white people, bottles flying, being smashed on heads, all sorts, there was definitely the most police I've seen in one place in my life. I got informed about the actual incidences by a drinker I see round the area and people he was with on the bus(they got on in said town), 'See, the problem with white people is that they just don't like each other, they don't like anyone'. I declined to comment, being on a bus full of boozey young lads on St George's day.
