Really exciting news. I wouldn't want my own songs in a game like Zelda, but something like Tony Hawk would be perfect for this.

Pre ordered Wii from HMV store? be AFRAID,
Mimternet replied to darthbane2k's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I have an even worse HMV nightmare! Flameboy, perhaps you could spread some light on my situation because I am severly panicking! I preordered my Wii from HMV in Covent Garden back in September, but I went in this week to double check my position on the queue and I wasn't on it! They had taken my deposit but not added me to their computer system! The guy behind the desk took my details again on paper (I still have my preorder receipt) and said I 'should' get one at launch but didn't say where I was on the queue. Do you know if it is possible to add me back into my correct place in the queue on the computer? I'm going back in this week to make sure. If my preorder was logged correctly I'd at least be in the Top 15 which, for a London store, will probably get me a good chance of getting a Wii, but I'm really worried that I'm not even in that queue! Argh!! -
What does a component cable actually do?

Shen Mue? Can it handle Dreamcast games?

Yeah, and seriously, 3 weeks is NOTHING compared to what we've put up with in the past.

14 Ubisoft Wii Titles by March 2007 (7 additional after launch!)
Mimternet replied to Stocka's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It is incredible that Ubisoft are supporting the Wii so heavily, I guess that's the low development costs shining through. It's also a bit of a gamble on the system, but one worth taking because if Wii takes off the way we all think, they are going to be the 3rd party with all of the brands already on the system and familiar to users. They've done a very good job at making their games known too. Take Zelda out of the equation and Red Steel and Raving Rabbids are selling the system at launch. They're the two biggest games other than Zelda - it speaks VOLUMES. When has that ever happened at Nintendo launch? Two new franchises too (admittedly Rayman is an old brand, but the game is totally radical). All in all, Ubisoft are owed a lot of respect for this support. -
Well, it's going to be available for all consoles, including Wii, so Wii could take advantage too. Although Wii has the biggest advantage: the controller comes with every console and is supported by every game. Introducing a new device like this would be incredibly difficult to make mainstream. I've been thinking anyway, it is completely possible for Nintendo to upgrade the controller in the future. All of the parts are external (Wiimote and sensor bar) if they wanted to release a new controller they could.

How can you not include Wii play when it is the second Nintendo game? The third is Wii Sports. Plus, there are so many great 3rd parties out. It's an amazing launch lineup and it gives 3rd parties some opportunity. Plus, you forget Zelda is the BEST launch game ever.

Something wrong there... I don't like the Zelda one, I love the Red Steel one. Spongebob's is awful, it looks like usual 'crap game' art.
-
Of course someone will post the details.

I'm assuming there will be enough copies of the games to go around or is it worth reserving Zelda too? I want Excite Truck - because it's Nintendo it will have to be of a certain quality. I don't really like racing games, but I always thought Wave Race was brilliant because it was so different. An exaggerated extreme racing game sound good to me.

I am going to have a quick play with the Mii channels and the other games - very quickly - to settle my curiosity, then sit down into a mass session of Zelda. I don't want Zelda to be interrupted. Can't wait to play through Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask again on Wii. Great post. I haven't been this excited since N64, yet I am even more excited about this.
-
But they had £40 as an estimate originally, why would they knock money off of their estimate if it meant them losing money? I'm fairly confident all launch games will be priced the same. Because it's launch they all have a chance of selling well. The £39.99 RRP is probably going to be the highest pricing tier - Zelda. The others are going for as much as possible while they can. The other way of looking at it is that Zelda is the launch system seller. It's going to sell by the bucket load and it is in Nintendo's interest to make the best launch game at a reasonable price to sell systems. Afterall, if they don't sell millions of systems they aren't going to be able to sell future games. You catch me drift sonny? The biggest drawback for me is that while cheap Play takes ages to deliver. Normally this isn't a problem but I need my Wii fix on day one so in this case I'm buying in store.

I am getting pannicky that I won't get a Wii on launch now. If I can't play Zelda on the day of release I will literally implode with disappointment. I'm going to pre-order it in a second location. I must have one. Didn't N64 only have something like 30,000 at launch? I still got one of those and I didn't preorder that far in advance. We're likely to get at least 100,000 in the UK.

Wise words.

I must be losing my mind, I can't remember if I have played Banjo-Tooie or not!! Oh my god, I'm going mad!! I loved the first game, thought it was absolutely brilliant. This is yet another reason for interest in Xbox 360. Now, if only I had more money...

The one rule they have to follow is: 1. Levels in space stations with robots aren't fun! Turok was all about being out doors and fighting beasties. Why the need to turn it into a space shooter?

I'd imagine this could only happen if the sun was shining so strongly on your TV that you wouldn't be able to see the picture anyway, in which case you'd have to close your curtains. But everyday sun? Rubbish, that obviously isn't true.
-
Interesting, thanks for that. It does look better but only marginally, less than I was expecting, but I actually don't care now, I really don't. I'm too excited about all of the new system functionality like larger memory, internet and the controller.

Wii Sports - full game details with new logo
Mimternet replied to Cookyman's topic in Nintendo Gaming
All reports of Wii Sports have been good. I can't say it's my most anticipated game either, in fact, if it weren't packaged in I probably wouldn't buy it. But I won't dismiss it like a number of people above. I'm sure it will be more fun than you imagine it to be. -
My suggestion is related to the official threads. Can we have a Game Question Forum where people can post multiple posts on the same game? I always find the official threads so long that I wouldn't read through every page just to find the answer to a question. For instance there's a closed topic in Handhelds at the moment asking "Are mini-games unlockable in New Super Mario Bros?" If there were a Game Questions free-for-all forum it would stop these posts coming up in normal forums and make it easier to find a question and answer that you're interested in. Does this make sense? I love the Revo-Europe forums but this is my on niggle. I completely understand why these posts are closed because it stops the board being filled with repeat posts, but it does make it easier to break big topics like Official Threads down into sub-topics.

Personally, I can't see Wii coming out before end Nov / Dec. It's not that the system won't be ready, but the games. 3rd party devs won't even have been working on some games for a year...

Oh, right. Me slow :/

And here it is: http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/NAVSUB/5-/RegionHome.html Quite nice to see it on there! They have the release dates as Christmas day, so this is just a place holder.

Hopefully something completely new. I love Metroid, but their ideas in Metroid Prime 2 weren't as fresh as they could have been. I think they need something totally different to sink their teeth into, even if it's just another First Person shooter type game with a twist. I really want them to create a new franchise that becomes as big and exciting as Halo.
