  1. Sorry, I meant Kitt. I accidentally put "Kid Icarus game" when I meant "Knightrider game". Bring on the Hasslehoff! You could comb his mullett with the Wii-mote.
  2. If a similar post has already been started please delete - I searched but couldn't find out. I've never played a Kid Icarus game and have no idea what the concept is, but after seeing Pit in Smash Brothers Brawl I have to say I have been excited by the potential of this character. Not only does he look like the coolest Nintendo character, ever, he also has wings and a sword! Winged combat using the Wii controller is mind-blowing. I hope a Kid Icarus game sees the light of day on Wii... his being in Smash Brothers Brawl is certainly promising.
  3. I think the "tip of the iceberg" statement has been taken to an extreme. I think the meaning of it is that once people get used to the system the graphics will get better in the same way Resident Evil 4 looks so much better than Gamecube's 1st gen games.
  4. When have Nintendo ever released a shallow action game? I suspect that it will have semi-RPG / character building elements to help prevent this being the case. A lot of people have written this game off on the basis of an early video and description. The game is bound to have a lot more to it by the time it reaches the stores, it's still so early. Just because you can't imagine there being more to the game doesn't mean the game designers can't. I actually expect this to turn out extremely well.
  5. Ouch lol, I'd feel bad if he ever read that. Haha. Doubt he will though because he seems to be totally detached from the rest of the gaming community... and world.
  6. Throughout E3 Phil Harrison came across as a complete fool, and this is more defensive nonsense from him. I guess there isn't much else he can do when coming under direct fire from the world's gaming press but he should have expected people to see the Playstation controller as a bad copy of Wii's and the price as grossly extortionate.
  7. I find it quite off putting during quieter points in games and especially in films. The Dreamcast and PS2 had a similar problem, they aren't as bad as the XBox 360 but I still notice it at times. I'll probably buy one anyway, but I was wondering if there have been any rumblings of an update with the PS3 on the way.
  8. I really want an Xbox 360. The only thing putting me off is the noise the fans make. What do you think the likelihood is of an XBox360 update being released anytime soon?
  9. The hype war is the most important though. If they can win over the 'freaks', press and media types they've won half the battle. Every gaming media magazine and site is stating that Nintendo was the most popular at the biggest gaming conference of the year and that the Wii actually works. This will filter down to the consumer. You can't buy that kind of coverage.
  10. It's not a criticism. He's pointing out that for the price of a PS3 you can get both a Wii and a 360 making the 360 sound like more of a bargain. The message he's sending out is that you can buy a 360 now and a Wii later - there's no need to hold out for the Wii. He's buying himself more 360 sales, not more Nintendo sales. There's some clever psychology going on with this statement, but it's also true.
  11. Microsoft have convinced me. I'm tempted by the online experience and graphical capabilities of XBox 360. Originally I was going to buy a PS3, now I doubt I will. At $600 it is at a ridiculous price point. You can buy a luxury holiday for that. It's a month's rent. And that's not including any games. XBox 360 is here now and already has some awesome games available on it. Plus that Halo 3 trailer is awe inspiring. The only thing I don't like about it is the amount of noise made by the cooling fans.
  12. I think the Nintendo WIFI service is good on DS it works. On Wii though it isn't enough. I want to use the games to chat to and meet people online to play against. Just like we're chatting now. You don't have that level of social interaction on Nintendo WIFI Connection. It feels limiting. Friendcodes are limiting. I'll take my own advice though and not write it off before we know that much about it. Nintendo WIFI Connection on DS is seeing more and more features with each game, by the time Wii is out it could be an altogether different experience.
  13. It better not be like the DS WIFI - that's crap. Friend codes are crap. That's what "Block user" would be for.
  14. Disappointing... The graphics just aren't up to the DS AAA title standard (Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Metroid, Star Fox). It's down to the touch screen then. If it's just another remake of the previous games it's pointless.
  15. It's going to have to be cheap. Let's face it, the games just don't look anywhere near as good as they do on PS3 and XBox 360. Fine by me, but I expect this to be reflected in the price. Around 250 euros (£199).
  16. By being cheap At least it isn't 360 or PS3... we'd only be able to buy 1 game a year after remortgaging houses to buy the consoles.
  17. AWESOME! This is one game I was really hoping for and it already looks fantastic, extremely clear and clean visuals. Here's hoping there's more to it than the DS game.
  18. Yes, I think you just hit the nail on the head. This looks to be Nintendo's answer to Grand Theft Auto. Huge sprawling realistic worlds, gritty art style. Most exciting of all - it's Nintendo and on Wii. If this is their answer to GTA, I'm listening!
  19. The graphics are more powerful. You'll notice it in terms of the size of play areas, added detail etc. once the console is out. Also for the added WIFI - you can't do that with Gamecube and it will be a massive part of Wii.
  20. Nintendo need to release a trailer for Metroid Prime 3 that shows it off as well as Halo 3's does that game. I need to be wowed to get excited about this. So far it just looks like another follow up with new controls.
  21. I hate wild statements like this. Based on what facts? You can't possibly know! If anything it's more likely to be built on the Resident Evil 4 engine with the new control system added in. But we can't know until Capcom confirm it. Anyway, fantastic news. A Resident Evil game using Wii control with visuals that will end up being better than Resident Evil 4. It has my vote.
  22. Don't let it annoy you. You'll definitely get it in 2006, when they announce the release date really won't matter. At the latest? December. At most 7 months away, that's not long at all. Earliest? Well probably around November.
  23. There were some games I expected but didn't see, but I am very impressed by the conference. Most notably, Red Steel looks incredible - and it's third party! Other games that caught my radar: Disaster, Mario, Metroid. I'm sure Zelda will be great - but old news already! The always on feature is just brilliant. Nintendo always save a game or two to reveal on the show floor anyway, I'm sure Wario Ware is one of them. Weirdest thing for me was how far along Red Steel is and how much time it got on stage, yet no new Nintendo games got as much attention...
  24. Totally shocking. Not really sure how to take this or Disaster. Both look fantastic but they're so not Nintendo. Which is a very good thing. It won't get repetitive - this is Nintendo.
  25. I remember one of the IGN editors, either Matt or Craig saying they want to be surprised by a game from Nintendo in one way or another by its shocking content. This is it for me, I can't think of such a "mature" game coming out of Nintendo. Disaster already looks awesome.
