Well, there is little point debabting this 'fact', the sad truth of it all is that Wii is meant to be a more powerful console and have greater graphical abilities than the XBOX, yet we're seeing games like GT Pro Series, Far Cry, COD 3 etc which frankly look a mess. I think the fact we're seeing games which look sub-Gamecube standard is appalling.

Well, we've now got two threads on this, two threads on the Wii adverts and two threads on Wii sales figures.

This review is a joke, and it's another case of people trying to make a name for themselves. It's very sad when people do this, first Gamespot and now this bunch of no hopers. It's silly to tarnish atitle just to get hits for your site. I hope this jackass gets run over on his way home.

Naturally, then, the mammoth Nintendo 64 hit "GoldenEye" would be worth it even though the game's developer is now owned by Microsoft and the James Bond license was recently snatched up by Activision? They seem to be on every channel all the time, I've even seen them on late night Discovery (in Forensic detectives) and in Jeremy Kyle on ITV at 9.25am!

Indeed, to suggest a whole launch is 'messed up' because scart cables won;t be available until 2 weeks later is a bit over the top. A lot of people won;t care, a lot more will be happy to wait and if it bothers you that much pick up your Wii when the cables are out. The way this thread has developed it's like they've said Zelda is delayed!!!

No one is disputing that the Wii lacks the graphical bells and whistles of its competitors, but that doesn't mean that Wii games have to look worse than Xbox or GameCube games. Nevertheless, several Wii games do. Compared to Far Cry Instincts on the Xbox, Far Cry Vengeance looks fairly awful. Textures everywhere lack detail, and the framerate often dips below 30 fps. Furthermore, the overall polygon count is quite low, making for some awkward looking enemies and environments. Thankfully, the draw distance in the game is impressive, helping it retain some of the visual flair of previous Far Cry titles. The above is taken from IGN, this sounds appalling.

nothing would surprise me with Gamespot, just remember, the greatest game of all time is Tony Hawks 3!!

I can't remember Extreme G being that much, but I can remember Turok being £60+ on launch, but at the time it was revolutionary, It just felt so good, and looked truly amazing for it's time. Sadly the Turopk series never got any better.

Agreed, but neither of mine work anymore the analogue sticks just ended up clogged up with dust, plastic wear, sweat and dead skin as the 'ball' att he joint was too small. But there has never been such a good FPS controller.

It would be criminal for this game NOT to get re-released at some point. It is for me and many others, THE greatest game of all time. This and Zelda: OOT i doubt will ever be bested.

I think it was a total success, paved the way for what we see now. I also think if I had to choose any one Nintendo system to play for the rest of my life, it would probably be the N64

hey, I'm pleased to see this thread. Goldeneye was something truly special - at the time when this came out it just blew me away. I can remember just playing it and playing it. I would re-play every level over and over. Never before, and never since has there a game which I have just been content to sit with for hours and every play felt as fresh as the first.

Agreed, plus I actually think Wii is a great looking console and the look of it and all it's packaging/promotional material is very mature and very modern.

I'm more eager to see the reception it gets in Japan on the 2nd than I am to see the European launch. But the fact Wii is outselling PS3 and it's only launched in one territory is a good sign.

Saying that, I am keeping ALL my Gamecube stuff, and adding to it with classics I missed out on, plus of course Zleda:TP.

Oh come on, he's either just a very excited young lad who's over the moon with his new Wii, or he's a very good actor, either way thumbs up to the little fella!

Aquaman is a lame superhero to begin with! I wonder what sales figures were for Charlie's Angels and Aquaman?

On first thoughts: Metroid Prime (best game on the 'Cube) Twin Snakes Resident Evil 4 Legend of Zelda Collecters Edition Fire Emblem It was really really hard for me to leave out both Battalion wars and Zelda WW

Just seen the Wii Sports ad on sky one, really good, the graphics look great on the ad, very clean, clear and stylish.

I don;t buy a game from review scores either, but I do expect those reviewers to give fair socres, and if I'm considering a game i will read reviews from a number of sources.
