Has Your Opinion Changed On The Controller And Name?
Zechs Merquise replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yes, because for once Nintendo has got both those things very right, it's somehting that has captured the imagination of the public and got a lot of people very interested in gaming. Still not happy about the graphics :P -
Well, I finally gt my hands on this masterpiece, and I've only managed to put in 3 to 4 hours. I'm at the beginning of the Forest Temple. The graphics are brilliant, it plays superbly and there's more story already then there has been in past Zelda games. But i'm really angry... Before this game came out I was annoyed about the score Gamespot gave it. I was annoyed because I felt this score was given to Gamespot some much needed publicity and a boost in their ratings war with IGN, oh and also because I feel theydislike Nintendo. At the time many said, 'well have you played it?' And as the answer was 'no' I was going on a gut feeling, one I got from playing Zela games for countless hours and loving every minute of them. Now after playing this game I'm more angry than before, it truly is a masterpiece and has a feeling abot it so epic and 'special' I feel privalaged to be playing it. It feels like a game that defines a generation, a game that will be remembered and become a bench mark for future games. Yet one site decided to use this game to make a stir. I hope they go under and I hope fat Jeff loses his job. That kind of journalism just shouldn't be tolerated.

Or does it indicate we weren't important enough to get our own design lol, or am I just playing Devil's Advocate?

Zoonami's Game Zero - still coming?
Zechs Merquise replied to david.dakota's topic in Nintendo Gaming
You can tell Free Radical are the ture Goldeneye heirs, just play TimeSplitters, it brings back memories. I'd love them to make a game with a proper story and much more involving single player mode. Don;t get me wrong, I love Timesplitters, but I just long for more. -
Super Smash Bros Brawl Controls: Your Ideas
Zechs Merquise replied to Cube's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yes, I tend to agree there, a bundled classic controller would be good and help sell the game. In fatc I'd go as far as to say it;s a fantastic idea! -
I went into GAME the other day, and they're doing a deal, buy Zelda for the Gamecube and get a Gamecube for just 19.99. Nice to see the Gamecube getting the swan song it deserves.

Zoonami's Game Zero - still coming?

It won;t happen, and that music game sounds appalling. One game that did disappear that looked really cool at the time was Riqa for the N64, anyone remember that? -
Super Smash Bros Brawl Controls: Your Ideas
Zechs Merquise replied to Cube's topic in Nintendo Gaming
My proof? It's just like the Metal Slug anthology, all the 'new' wiimote controls were cack. Basically it's a game that works best with traditional controls, is that such a terrible thing? The wiimote is not a one size fits all control method, nothing ever is. Like gamepads, they're ace but give me a mouse any day when I'm playing C&C -
Well, I came back to my parents the other day and decided to replay this game. The first time around I never actually finished it, in fact I got a bit bored and I ended up deleting my save file so I had to start over. Wow, was I wrong about this game. I don't know why I didn't enjoy it so much when I originally played it. On this second play through I'm loving it, it's such a beautiful and well crafted game. Bar Resident Evil 4 it must be the most grogeous looking game of the last generation, the whole world is so felshed out and detailed. Every locale looks different and the attention to detail is second to none. This game is a real gem, one that I fear may be overlooked by many. I think the only real problem I have with it is I'd love to play it multiplayer, but you need all those GBAs, that was a terrible decision on the part of Nintendo. I also love the classic feel to the gameplay, it reminds me of games back on the SNES. Overall, I would recommend this to everyone.

Killer7...What the Hell???
Zechs Merquise replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Well if you understand it all, please give me a shout and tell me what it's all about lol -
I came back to my parents house for Christmas, and I dug out one of my old N64 mags with a choice quote about this game, hope you find it as amusing as I did... "I can tell you that Superman is really original and really cool to play! The multiplayer mode is not seen anywhere since Goldeneye! That particular feeling when Superman flies around Metropolis is the closest thing to freedom we have ever seen in a video game" -Eric Caen of Titus I'm not quite sure if he actually played it though lol

Super Smash Bros Brawl Controls: Your Ideas
Zechs Merquise replied to Cube's topic in Nintendo Gaming
haha, why can't people see that whilst the Wiimote will no doubt suit certain games, it won't suit others. Someone was asking how it would work with a traditional starfox game, I think that would be another example of a game which worked best with normal controls. But back to topic, Smash Bros will use the classic controller. -
Did you like paper mario 2?
Zechs Merquise replied to THE ganondorflol's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I never played either of the Paper Mario titles, but was drawn to Super Paper Mario as it was said to feature classic platform action more than RPG stuff. One of those games that's always interested me, but never enough to buy it. -
Why would a free SD card come with this game? Why should it???
-
Don;t you think the US SNES was more reminiscent of the NES? Whereas the Jap/EU one was very modern looking with it's curves?
-
I've still not played either, why does christmas day always take so long to arrive!
-
I thought it was ugly, but at least they got their own design, we just got the Jap one!
-
lol, yeah ut it was never as good so it doesn't matter :P

Since everyone seems to love Wii sports they need to release it with an online option.
-
I loved the toys soooo much, generation 1 of course, after that they went a little poop. Can't wait for the film.
-
I think the Wii has worked, people are talking about it, and plenty of my mates who aren't interested in games want one, and plenty of my mates who do like games want one as well. It's also been dubbed the 'must have' present this christmas by the tabloids, so that ain;t a bad thing. I just hope Nintendo can supply the goods and capitalise.

Well I know thw N64 was a 64 bit console, and they said the PS2 was a 128, so I assume the Cube and XBOX were also 128. Dreamcast certainlty claimed it was 128 at the time.

I think Namco had a 90%+ game brewing in there. Look at the first level, the 5th level and the last level. Those classic on rail levels were mint. They ruined it deviating from the classic gameplay. Sometimes a game gets something so right you never want it to change tack, simply polish itself up whilst serving what can only be described as more of the same.

I reckon this is an example of a game that Nintendo needs to keep in house, Namco just didn't do it justice. I can see why Nintendo began farming out franchises to other developers, but I'd have much rather seen this as the polished product it would have been if it was completed in house.
