  1. I hope you're not referring to me. I never said I hated them. I just said I can't stand those who force themselves to like something to fit in with society. I was actually going to say in my post that i've no qualms against those who genuinely like whatever music/film is around at the time. I just don't understand the logic behind changing who you are to fit in. However, it's their life and I don't go out my way to point out to them what I think because it's really none of my business.
  2. All I can say is "Thank god it's a trilogy so he can't make any more". Surely Capcom has a say in where they want the Resident Evil series to go considering it must be set after RE5 at least.
  3. I completely agree. The amount of criticism Slipknot had in the past is a joke. They're a great band and extremely talented. Who cares if you personally don't like them, that does not instantly make them any less talented. A persons opinion does not equal fact as so many would like to think it does. I think this probably applies to heavy metal/rock as a whole. It seems there's a huge divide between people who like the former and those who listen to the stuff you get in the charts. Obviously everyone has a preference but is there really a need to shit on other peoples'. Something else I can't stand is this chav mentality that's seen everywhere these days. It's like a widespread "15 year old, i'm angry at my parents" teen angst, except coming from those a lot older. People who literally HATE others simply because of their opinions and preference. Or even worse, hating someone because of their appearence. Which leads me onto my other point. Basically I can't stand anything mainstream. People who wear and listen to certain things just to fit in. I mean Jesus, get some individuality.
  4. "sensitivity of these controls, and for the Wii in particular, the fatigue factor of having to constantly hold up your arms." This got me thinking, "what would be a good way to control the game that would also lend itself to the unique features of the Wii?" This was a comment from one of the guys on the NFS Carbon team - Game Informer I was speaking to Fierce_LiNk about this the other day. I've read a lot of developers stating that certain control styles wouldn't work because they'd 'tire' the gamer. Of course this is probably true to a point but I think they're being a bit over the top. There are also a lot of gamers who share this view, however I doubt these have even played the Wii. The point of the Wiimote is that you can do small motions with your wrist AS WELL as the large motions you see people doing playing Wiisports. It's common sense to give anything a break after 1-2 hours anyway. Personally I don't see how it can be as bad as they make out unless you go insane and make huge movements all over the place, again that's why the Wiimote is great because you don't need to do this. I also don't see why you need to 'hold your arms out'... surely you can just rest it on your knee or something. Do people like this have a point when they criticise certain control methods?
  5. I've been told a casual gamer is one who doesn't complete the 'harder' games out there. I enjoy playing games but it's fair to say I don't complete games if i'm not compelled to. It just so happens some of these are considered difficult. For example, Metroid Prime 2. I didn't particularly enjoy playing it (loved Prime 1) and so I didn't bother trying to get any further when I got lost. Does this make me a casual gamer? I think not. I complete and play games for hours straight, IF they interest me enough to keep going. I've been playing since the NES days so I can hardly be blamed if my time spent playing games has waned over the past few years. I'd say I complete a game every 1 in 3. Oh and apparently a casual gamer is one who doesn't know a 'quality' game when they play it. So if you enjoy games, which score around the 7 mark, you must be a casual gamer. Well I do, and like Fierce, still don't consider myself a casual gamer. However I don't consider myself particularly hardcore. I'd say i'm in between. I've completed Zelda OoT more times than I care to remember, yet I can't be bothered to complete Metroid Prime 2. Go figure.
  6. Seems like the majority remember it as Knock a door run, in one form or another, so how about you just drop the ginger... :awesome: Oh, welcome back Ford
  7. I thought it was "Tag", then "You're it!". That's how we used to play it anyway.
  8. Basically yes. I still think the ginger version makes no sense whatsoever.
  9. Quote for the win!
  10. Sarka and Harribo know where it's at, what's this ginger business...
  11. You're the freaks putting 'ginger' in there. WHO THE HELL IS GINGER . At least mine is self explainatory.
  12. I'm pretty sure IGN said the trailer was pre-rendered. Unless there's some other footage I missed. Well this is what they said anyway http://wii.ign.com/articles/705/705658p1.html.
  13. Couldn't agree more.
  14. I watch tv for the odd decent film. Neighbours and Lost is about all I can manage, the rest is utter bollocks unless you have Sky.
  15. I changed one of the letters and got the same effect so that's probably all it is.
  16. It's very doubtful that Nintendo would use real life images to put onto characters in games. Some of you might remember this feature was originally going to be included into Perfect Dark but was scrapped last minute as Rare thought it wasn't a good idea to allow people to stick faces of people they didn't like/friends onto a game character, which could be shot and killed. Imagine the public outcry from all the nancies. Also having a camera in that position would be pointless, my console wouldn't be at eye level that's for sure.
  17. Jesus I knew things were bad but that's insane. It really was a mass riot. That's what happens with a couple of thousand drunk people. I'm surprised by the rape charges though, that's just wrong and I don't think it's happened previously.
  18. Just got back from Download, had an hour wash . Only downside of the whole thing. Overall it rocked. Soulfly were amazing as always playing my two favourite songs from Dark Ages. Stone sour rule, brilliant new songs. In flames brilliant as well as usual. Metallica were bloody amazing, like others said the whole of the Master of Puppets and other classics. Got right to the front of it and have never headbanged so hard . Shame about the riot on the last night, we saw the middle of it and managed to escape back to our camp.
  19. We'll have a Cornish flag, (white cross, black background) if any of you lot wanna pop along for a few beers you're more than welcome. Should Wiiiii at the top of your voice so you stand out
  20. I'm impartial, I don't really have an opinion on it until the console is released and I try using the name in conversation. I do feel others are taking it too far though. My point is I don't think it needs to be stuck in every single place 'we' would be placed. Granted it is mainly fanboys/girls but I find it annoying.
  21. Well it's not just news stories, most of which I can handle. It's people using the name in a sentence for the sake of it as if they're trying to justify to the world it's a good name.
  22. True but it's a console name and I don't think it should be used in that kind of context. To be honest though it won't last, people will soon get bored of the novelty and resort back to 'we'. I mean it's great it's been accepted and all that but I still feel it's going over the top in some cases.
  23. ...but i've noticed the Wii name being slapped from here, to eternity when it really isn't necessary. I was chatting to Fierce_Link about it and he agrees with me. It's overkill and just makes it boring. What i'm talking about is people/reporters/news sites, sticking 'wii' instead of the standard 'we' wherever they can. How long is this going to go on for, because I for one am getting pretty tired of seeing every thread/news going something like "What colour consoles will wii get?" or "What wiill the price be?"
  24. You'd be surprised. A mate of mine is a casual gamer and basically he believes anything they say. Apparently the PS3 is worth the price because it's like 40 times more powerful and has amazing graphics... Shame you can get the same on 360 and maybe Wii for half that. Unfortunately Sony can get away with shit like this and there's no doubt in my mind they're going to try and market their controller as being more technologically advanced than the Wii's, despite it coming out after and having limited function. However, they can easily lose their reputation this generation if they fuck things up. Sony are no longer above failure.
  25. It's lucky Dabookerman hasn't found this thread, you'd all be accused of being casual gamers for not completing your games There are several I haven't got around to completing for various reasons: Metroid Prime Metroid Echoes Battalion Wars Resident Evil 4 Eternal Darkness Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes Geist Paper Mario 2 Viewtiful Joe Maybe i'll go through them again one day, but I doubt it.
