Joins in 2012; last posted in 2014; comes back 8 years later like they were never away. I need to know more!

Managed to catch up to the end of Episode 9 last night (took a while, each episode is the length of a shortish film!). This season just keeps getting better and better. Although i enjoy the slower paced episodes, they are really getting their money's worth from their CGI department as the season goes on! A 10 minute long CGI space battle and dogfighting sequence?!

I guess there's a fair amount of CGI that they don't want to pay for.

Surely that drop off is because people aren't in lock down any more, and so have less time for buying and playing video games?

I'm really enjoying the films, but the TV shows haven't exactly lived up to my expectations. With each one, they seem to be getting worse and more missable. I'm happy with the whole Phase situation as well. I'm assuming that the tentpole 'Avengers' film at the end of the phase will lay out what's happening, in the same way that Avengers Assemble tied up the first phase of films.

Like you're going to get any time to play any games at all for next few months...

Sorry, the American way of doing numbers is what I agree with. Using commas in punctuation is not specifically American, I just worded it weirdly.

See this is one of the few things I agree with the Americans on. When punctuating a sentence, you put a comma in the places where you pause but not stop, to help with legibility - and then a period at the end, to differentiate from the next sentence. When writing a number, I like to put commas in the number to help with legibility (1,000,000), and then a period at the end to differentiate from the decimal part of the number (1,000,000.000).

How do these people keep climbing so high?

I wrote some stuff in Fortran and Matlab for my PhD, but since then, i've mainly used VBA. I've never sat down and learned any of them though. I tend to just cobble together something that works, and then cannibalise that code for when I want to do something similar.

It wasn't the best episode, but I agree it was good to get some background to the Kaylon. And Bortus had some great lines. The bit where he's sat on the Bridge, and they all turn to look at him to leave, and he just says "......what?". I'm really bored of the episodes focusing on the Doctor and Isaac. Just feels like they're going round in circles. No, he doesn't have feelings. He is a robot. No, he's never going to fall in love with you. He is a robot. No, he doesn't feel remorse. He is a robot. I thought this was heading in a direction where all that would change, but no, by the end of the episode....he was a robot. Hopefully they can move on now?

Today I found out that the voice actor for Sebulba in The Phantom Menace is the guy who voices Postman Pat. My Postman Pat viewings will never be the same again.
