L.A. Noire - PS4 - XONE - Switch - November 14th
Nolan replied to Aneres11's topic in Other Consoles
Playing this and while it doesn’t seem to have had a real effect I’m a bit miffed that when chasing down a random street crime suspect, I shot him in the ankle (literally in the ankle) annnd he was carted away dead and under a white sheet. -
Critically lazy though. Edit: me I mean. I am critically lazy. As in too lazy to be arsed with fully paying attention to what is happening.

I haven’t finished season 2 and it’s a bit more grounded than season 1 but overall ehhh. I stopped around episode 12 or 13 I think. Still easily better than Iron Fist or The Punisher. Punisher was plain not good. At least Iron Fist had some Run the Jewels in it.

What a humorless employee. How hard could it be to play dumb on the HDD being 4 times larger and just allowing some lucky kid to get a happy bonus later on when they pick up an original model.

Yeah, the initial charm doesn’t carry the game well. It’s still beautiful and expressive, but does so little with that capability. Certain areas are purely tedious due to the ineffectiveness of weapons. And the world feels less than fleshed out.

I don’t know man. If you feel you have to force to play the game just to try and support a studio which...lets face it, it’s nostalgia at this point. Last great game was Viva Piñata series and arguably Nuts and Bolts....a decade ago. They just don’t have it anymore, maybe it is time to shutter the doors.

I play my Switch nearly exclusively in handheld mode and with the exception of (early release doom) most games play flawlessly. I have now encountered a certain fire spewing boss and when he spews fire the frame rate absolutely chugs. I’m talking single digits, it’s pretty awful and kind of ruins an otherwise fun battle. Also ruining the battle was that the software crashed exactly as I completed the fight :/ edit; on the plus side the game saved and loaded right there at the cutscene so nothing was lost except time.

Having ridden horses plenty in my life, a well trained horse can be controlled just by the pressure from your legs. Agro just controls poorly, lots of oversteer and understeer for no reason and poor pathing. They’ll follow a beaten trail prettt much by themselves at full tilt. Something like Red Dead Redemption or Breath of the Wild is a bit closer to actually riding. Complaining about how long it takes Wander to get up is silly though. I get that it’s annoying but going back to personal experience coming off a horse you don’t just always bounce back up. There’s a time period where you’re breathing and gathering your bearings before you even try and move.

Bout to open a bar. Just got off work at 5, and they open 5:30. Just having one weak beer and heading home not like these other cats from work that’ll stay until 8(which turns into 12) in the morning.

Ugggggh I just want concrete information about this game. Less rumors more footage and announcements and E3 Slightly unrelated, fantastic that CDPR is growing to the point of opening more studios. More developers of their caliber and morality is a good thing.

I’m honestly surprised this game didn’t already have a thread of its own actually. I went into this pretty blind honestly. I think I recall hearing the name prior to my purchasing it but I didn’t really know anything. No regrets, it’s a unique and fun game and so far a intriguing story. And the pixel art is just beyond detailed. And even when there isn’t much detail everything is so damn expressive. I really feel for Otus. Like the opening segment got to me. Controls take some getting use to but are perfectly functional. I just get a bit all thumbs with it. And every once in a while I do experience a bit of lag but within seconds the lag is gone. I’m guessing it’s related to just loading the area rather than intensity.

Tut tut.

Son I am disappoint. St paddy’s come an gone on a Saturday and no posts in here?! At least I had an excuse of being at work from 7pm onwards (and no I can’t go to work drunk. I have to drive and they do random breathalyzers) also, about to start supping sipping on some jameson black barrel.

We’ve lost a brilliant mind. I can’t say much more than that really.
-
If they really wanted to “include more fans than ever before” they’d bring back their Bringing E3 Home thing from 2007. E3 demos and videos right in their market place.

ReCore was a pretty enjoyable experience. Though I did fall out of playing it (the aforementioned issues of spreading too thin between games).

In terms of controlling Wander and Argo, try and think of it as the characters having weight to their movements. Like real life, actions aren’t instantaneous. Though I do agree, wrestling is a apt way of putting it. Glad you’re enjoying the game regardless though.

Because those old archaic mechanics are still enjoyable to plenty of people. Also combine the fact that Horizon isn’t that much of an RPG. It’s a stellar game in all aspects but it’s not much of a RPG to me.

This thread needs some more negativity. Yesterday I downloaded the Sea of Thieves open beta with no problems (unfortunately I missed the beta period. Oops.) Today, trying to do almost anything on the console including play games or watch Netflix results in error code 0x800401fb which apparently is an error code that doesn’t fucking exist. Google turns up a few results of posts similar to mine from last year. It literally just fixed itself about 10 seconds after typing this post....what in the fuck. In other good good news I saw yesterday that Turok 2 is on the console complete with 16 player multiplayer soooo that’s kind of awesome.

Missed the open beta it ended early Sunday morning (5am here) I was still at work. Ah well, price drop game maybe.

The first girl was just trying to reenact that scene from Superbad.

Yeaaah. I’m working the night shift, 6-10s so no drinking for me for a while. But I’ll certainly come in and enjoy your drunken ass posts.
