I thought the match was tomorrow so I didn't even bother checking. HOW THE HECK DID MY TACTICS DEFAULT TO 4-2-4. My default is a simple 4-4-2 all rounder.

For me I would say Ab Ripper X is a pretty good workout. I'll try and get a vid link when I get back from work. The 300 workout is pretty good too but you'd need a Gym / equipment to make the most of it.

Er....... I'd have to get back to you on that one, I only like look at beastly things. The Dell Studio XPS 13 might suit you quite well. Basic specs are Core 2 Duo 2GHZ 3GB ram 250GB HDD Nvidia 9400m slot loading drive HD screen. Due out later this month don't know of any reviews for it yet. But I don't know if such a small screen would make auto CAD an easy task. I know you can zoom in and out, but I like having more room for these kind of things, so I would say go for 15.4 which in my eyes is still very portable. Whatever path you decide to go for there will still be a way around your problems either way. And some of the mac camp excuses stopped having meaning a long time ago, evident in the epic fail that was their last I'm a Mac I'm a PC advert. Anyway edited my post to show the XPS Studio 13 specs. Near enough a complete replica of the macbook in terms of specs. Studio XPS 13

Yeah that is the DV8 its apparently having a quad core i7 but I was thinking how much cash do students have to splash on laptops these days. But it would be totally kick ass to have and would easily handle any photoshopping and CAD work hands down. Would be nice if the throw in Win 7 64 bit to fully take advantage of the hardware. Via Engadget The only thing I would want to know is what GPU will be partnered up with it.

I agree with Platty. Perhaps hold out for the new HP DV8 series which is set to release quite soon if you can afford it. But otherwise I would recommend anything from their DV-7 range as they will easily get the job done for you. And I think they look just as stylish as a mac can. Review of the HP Pavillion DV-7 I'd say with any laptop build quality goes towards your experience, and for that reason stay away from Acer & Dell.

Well the Autocad people apparently sent out an apple 2009 survey to its users. But the official word from them is to still boot camp. The problem with Autocad is that the program has been fully pc since the 80's so Learning to get it to run right on another platform could be a daunting task. Apparently there were three previous releases of it for the Mac but it was pulled as the audience for it was too small. Some boring sources on the subject: http://www.blog.cadnauseam.com/2009/05/29/why-autocad-for-mac-is-a-bad-idea/ http://www.macrumors.com/2009/04/08/autocad-returning-to-mac/ Also I would check if your uni is part of the Microsoft software alliance programme, could help you net a free copy of windows.

Was going to leave my reply for later, but I guess I'll do it now. I've had more time with a PC than a mac, and to tell the truth, for me the mac looked pretty and not much else. As much as that would annoy mac die hards, in no way does a mac increase productivity. I don't spend hours running antivirus software, I'm not constantly having my computer crash either. But despite these things I would say go PC purely for the reason that you don't know what is ahead for your course and if you end up needing a piece of software that isn't easily found on a mac you could be in some trouble. You can get photoshop on a mac. I don't think you can get autocad would work bootcamp only. Its a large program and re engineering it to work on the mac wouldn't be much fun. And additionally you would need to source a copy of windows on top of the cost of the mac. Anyway what KKOB said, go to a store try one out. Ask questions, but don't make up your mind until you've slept on it.

Well it is my first day out of the country and I've already forgotten the one Portuguese word I learnt. Goodbye. B something...... I mildly remember French and Spanish from school, picked up a few Japanese words and phrases here and there, but that is about it.

Hey guys, I just jumped on the DSi bandwagon as my DS Phat has a broken hinge and I didn't want to take it on holiday, don't really know what to download before I go. I got that warioware game but I just read a review that its crap. Blew 500pts. I will probably get that picopict thingy Redshell was recommending.
-
The 4 2 4 formation is used when all the midfield players are injured, low on form and us generally in a bad state it was pretty much all I had left. Going on holiday won't be back for a while so I guess me and my team fold :P

This is nintendo DS right? They can't seriously expect to charge more than £10 for this.

Voted for you all, hope it goes well for all of you. After being forced to register. -
Nah I hated vista at first but after I configured it the way I like it I wouldn't go back. greater level of security in the newer OS' better multicore CPU support makes them worthwhile to me.

Um.............. that's a website. I'd love to pitch in and help but everything is up in the air at the moment, maybe if the forum could maybe work together on throwing something together would be good. I'm thinking a horizontal nav bar across the top with logo left, maybe with a header image of some kids. Maybe a Jquery powered hero banner. And then some text text text. What sort of resources are we working with. For example is there a mysql database to fall back on? I have to say I really like his html. Really old skool.

Ebuyer tends to have a nice range of never heard of that make before mp3/pm players might find what your looking for: Mp3 Mp4 and MP5 players?? What the hack is an Mp5 Nevermind: Mp5 players are essentially an advanced version of portable digital media player that do more than just playing music files. With the phenomenal shift in the portable multimedia technology every year, it has become extremely essential for you to keep updating your portable digital music player in order to synchronize itself with the latest technology. The new mp5 technology has been developed taking the technological transformation into consideration. For instance, could your existing mp3 or mp4 player take advantage of a Bluetooth or Wi-fi technology revolution of tomorrow?

Got myself stuck in a catch 22. Now is not the time to buy a 360 as something is brewing in the Microsoft camp. Now is the time to buy a PS£ to avoid with the nes x megadrive cross breed. Kind of reminds me of how fugly the DS prototype was. Guess I'll have to look around for some deals.

I agree shorty Joomla is great, but I wouldn't say its good for first timers as the whole category and section thing might be too confusing for some. But I love the amount of extensions it has, I don't think any other cms can compete on that front. And there are tons of templates. I would say to anyone looking to get into CMS' is to try them all out for yourself and stick with what you feel comfortable starting out with.
-
Well CMS' are pretty easy to use when you get your head around them. Well I lied, some are easy some have a massive learning curve. But basically it works by you working your template around some set framework in a Content management system (CMS) that way each time you make a page everything is auto populated for your all the code and css, and you won't have to write all the code for each page you make as the CMS handles all that. (sorry is this all sounds confusing its late and I can't think too clearly) CMS' make it easy for people without knowledge of html to create webpages, as they are given a microsoft word like interface to create new pages from. Some notable CMS' are Joomla, Drupal, Mambo, typo3, I could go on forever. But the ones that I would recommend just because of how easy they are to use are: Modx SilverStripe Wordpress -- Really for blogs but some people have hacked it into a CMS. First of all these are open source so that means they are free to use, distribute etc. Set up process takes a short while but I will spoiler it to save space. I'll be giving a method for xampp.

Oh snap forgot to say it is code burner on the sitepoint website, they have an ad for it at the top of their main page so its kinda hard to miss. May as well throw in the that some additional useful addons for firefox which can be found from the firefox addons site are firebug and web developer tool bar. Updated my first post with links.

I'm managed to drop into a web dev post myself. I guess I'm lucky as I got the job towards the start of the whole recession thing. I mainly code my html css etc using notepad++. It is a basic text editor programme but it has loads of great plugins and has good support for html and css aiding you with attribute names etc. As for mysql, php and apache, it is very easy to set one up using your pc. I uses Xampp for all that kind of stuff where I test out cms' however my company decided to spend 2 grand to get additional features from the current one we are paying £2000 a year for. Some people don't like change I guess. The CMS we use sucks too. I've heard good things about server2go too. @Pyxis - have a look into javascript frameworks like Jquery and mootools, you can easily make some pretty sweet stuff. But anyway here are two of my favourite web resources for people starting out: Web Monkey http://htmldog.com/ Good for web trends and articles: Site point For firefox users at the moment they have an add on which is a html reference guide and they are throwing in a free Ebook worth 6 quidish to boot just for downloading. I suppose when I'm not feeling to lazy I will collate a bunch of resources for learning different thing and share with my beloved community. So I've nattered on a bit so I guess the least I can do is link these things: Web servers: Php, apache, mysql: Xampp Server 2go Development environment: Notepad++ Javascript frameworks: Jquery MooTools Firefox addons: Codeburner Web developer tool bar Firebug I'll probably post a complete list of resources at some point in the future.

Well if it is @ me Nah its a pmp. But lack of web browser killed it for me. Although if the rumours about the p4 version are true I may hold off the zune and wait for that instead.
-
I was really considering the Samsung P3 way back but the lack of web browser which was becoming a staple thing among pmp at the time was a bit annoying. I'm looking to pick this up. Although the way Microsoft has been pimping silverlight we may have to consider that flash won't be supported (Unless already stated) and that means no Iplayer
