I was going to put this in the general Kickstarter thread, but how often do you get the chance to start a new thread about a (potential) new NES game? (Also, where the hell is the NES icon?) Another Kickstarter which looks too good to pass up. A little bit more info: The kickstarter is for the game as well as a documentary about making a new NES game. If it wasn´t clear, this is a game on an actual NES cartridge, not just a ROM. There will also be a PC version on the actual cartridge, which you can connect through USB, and you can play both versions in parallel. I´ll wait until next month, but I´m definitely going to pledge. But the Kickstarter is doing just great without me it seems.

Must be me then, Although they´re based on the Pikmin games, they´re not games themselves, and I was more focussed on the cinema aspect of the shorts. You can move them if you really, really must :p.

These aren´t games . I guess I could dig up the general Nintendo thread, I recall something like that existing.. But it has not been stickied. Edit: I didn´t find a general "Nintendo miscellaneous stuff" thread. Closest is the Nintendo business thread, but that one deals mostly with the financials. I was thinking of starting a general "Nintendo cinema" thread, but there isn´t a whole lot that would encompass it, and there wouldn´t be much to talk about apart from the links I just posted. If a Zelda film were announced it would probably warrant its own thread anyway .

Very interesting read on the development hell the old, infamous Super Mario Bros film went through. http://www.slashfilm.com/super-mario-bros-movie-console-wars/ Fun to read what could´ve been. Thought I´d create a new thread rather than bumping an old one from 2006 (although that would´ve been funny).

Apparently Shigeru Miyamoto made a trio of Pikmin short films, which will be shown at the Tokyo film festival next month. http://variety.com/2014/film/news/shigeru-miyamoto-to-unveil-pimkin-movie-at-tokyo-festival-1201303483/ Not much else known at the moment. Would love to see them, and hope to see some other animations from Nintendo.. Maybe even a (new) full-feature live-action film some day .

I enjoyed it overall, but I am disappointed that Telltale didn´t listen to its fans for 3 (or 4) episodes straight. The episode was still too short, with lots of things missing. A gripping conclusion to be sure, but still. As for my choices, I had the exact same ones as Zell, but some for different reasons.

Out of support I intend to buy this one on launch, as opposed to waiting until I actually have a Wii U to play it on. I want the special edition, I love a good collector´s edition when it´s done well, but the first press edition (is the special edition also not first print?) is not a good example of a collector´s edition in my opinion, so I´ll stick with the cheaper special edition. However. I seem unable to find either the special or first press edition in Dutch webshops. I sent Nintendo an e-mail, but I suspect I´ll be importing from Amazon again, where the special edition is actually cheaper than the normal edition is here at our "local Amazon". Anyway.. After looking at the page on the Nintendo website.. I just noticed: Bayonetta 1 has a Pegi rating of 18, while 2 has a rating of 16. I don´t know if the UK rating has changed. So ehm, what will we be missing out on? :p

Under the dog kickstarter is going well now all of a sudden.. Thanks to a Reddit AMA it seems.

So I totally forgot about the Direct.. Only caught up yesterday evening. This is pretty much what I wanted. Getting a 3DS in 2015!

I SHOULDN'T SPEND MORE MONEY But I really want to go for that $ 100,- pledge. A little bit too bloody for my taste (I used to love that stuff when I was a kid), but the animation looks fantastic, and I love the character design and bike design shown.

Saw Boyhood last week, neglected to post so far (I also didn´t see it earlier, because I was under the impression it was already out here, but it openened 31-07). Boyhood was awesome, and definitely going to be amongst my 2014 favourites. 2014 has generally been great so far.. But Boyhood yeah. Simply something you won´t see often (if ever again) in cinema.. Seeing all those actors literally grow up, really adds to the experience. Even though it´s fiction, you´re engrossed in watching a boy grow up, more than you´d normally would with coming of age stories. Richard Linklater was fortunate with his cast, especially the kids (or at least in the beginning when they actually were kids). Not just seeing them literally grow up, but also seeing them grow as actors is incredibly fun. This will probably be the most endearing film I´ve seen this year. Also saw Fading gigolo, a film with (not by) Woody Allen. Nice but totally forgettable. Woody pimps out out his friend John Turturro to the likes of Sharon Stone and Sofia Vergara, but then Turturro falls in love with Vanessa Paradis. Good performances, but I´d loved more comedy. Two faces of January was pretty cool. Nice thriller, nothing fancy or complex, just a small-time conman getting caught up in the troubles of a big-time con man. With Viggo Mortensen, Oscar Isaacs, and Kirsten Dunst. Ooh.. And next week Guardians of the galaxy.. I am giddy.

I dunno. It sounds totally appropriate for some generic evil tech corporation. I have no strong feelings one way or another about a new Terminator, but I´m certainly not going to dismiss the film because of the name.

Ehh.. I hear Studio Ghibli just closed its doors.. ..
