Took Springtron for a spin through Lv. 4 Grand Prix earlier, his big charge attack seems much weaker than it did when fighting him as a CPU opponent, although I only ever fought against him once, so that could just be my imagination. Some new badges are also up for grabs with this update, even including one for launching the game from the ARMS news channel. I really like that feature of the Switch, getting items in Zelda was cool (albeit a bit late to be useful for me) I hope they continue to use it and add stuff for more games too.
  2. Crazy stuff. They're either a robot or they made extensive use of that meal ticket exploit before it got patched out. I still think XP gain needs some serious tweaking in Splatoon 2 now, they should at the very least massively up the rate during Splatfests. Playing the ARMS Splatfest equivalent Party Crash feels super rewarding (especially during the x3 events) as you earn soooo much XP from it.
  3. Have you seen @DuD's level more like it. Outside of Turf War I ain't up to much. Watch me suck at Turf War too now. Anyway, see you lot later on!
  4. Pretty much everyone is rocking the Chrimbo hat now, myself included. Crafting all the Christmas furniture doesn’t look like too much of a grind, surprisingly. They only require a single material type (exclusive to this event) and getting hold of them is pretty straightforward. Each piece only takes 30 mins to complete as well. Despite how popular/busy this game has been at launch (not with peeps from here, obviously but in general) I get the feeling it’s not going to do very well for Nintendo. The reason being that longtime AC fans who will probably end up making the vast majority of the active player base for this game, are going to be much less likely to purchase Leaf Tickets. They will be more than happy to just wait for crafting to complete having been used to that from the console versions. I haven’t purchased any tickets yet and the free ones that I’ve obtained in-game/via my Nintendo have all gone on upgrades to storage space or the exclusive items (like K.K. Slider’s chair and the retro camper design), as a patient AC veteran I’ve got no interest in speeding up the game. So yeah, guessing Nintendo will eventually add more items that require tickets to unlock, as I reckon it’s the only way they’ll get enough people actually buying tickets.
  5. On the subject of Nintendo’s friend system on Switch, one thing I like at the moment is how it suggests friends from all of their mobile titles (as well as Wii U and 3DS of course). I’m fast approaching 100 people added on Animal Crossing Pocket Camp now, and it’ll be great to easily send friend requests to some of the dedicated AC fans I’ve met on there, whenever the Switch version of AC finally hits.

Nice! Will be interesting to see how Springtron works as a playable character. Got absolutely destroyed by the CPU version when I first encountered it.
  7. I keep forgetting about Monster Hunter! Gonna be a shame to miss out on that, but there’s no way I’m staying subscribed just for one game. Will get to check out the beta in December at least.
  8. Yeah... I don’t think I’m gonna miss PS+ next year.
  9. What do you consider the usual Animal Crossing charm? For me it’s mainly the lo-fi look, sound effects/relaxing music and an overall chilled out vibe, all of which is very much present in Pocket Camp. It certainly couldn’t look and feel anymore like AC than it already does. Obviously the mobile version is without a lot of gameplay elements from the mainline titles, but I reckon it still does a good job of capturing the essence of the series. There are even a few things that I really hope make the transition to Switch. Stuff like the fishing nets/honey system, and the ability to easily and quickly sell items from any point in the game.
  10. Not sure, don’t think so though.
  11. My current Campsite, Animal crew and Retro Camper van: Finding this "game" to be seriously addictive! It really shouldn't be either as it's so damn basic and repetitive, but the good old AC vibe is just irresistible! Hopefully it'll link with the Switch version somehow.
  12. The new update on this is great and all, but man... they really should've done something other than add a new meal ticket to help increase XP gain. (Doesn't help that it's also a right grind to get those tickets.) I mean I've been Lv. 40 now for what seems like forever. At that rate even getting to Lv. 50 was going to take an eternity, but reaching Lv. 99 and beyond!? Not gonna happen with the current stingy XP amounts. Oh well, at least there doesn't seem to be any unlockables tied to the higher levels. Anyway, sorry I missed the fun on the weekend, will definitely be around for the post-MK League session on Thursday though.
  13. Should be interesting as I've not used Smart Steering at all. Gonna ruin the 0% stat on my profile but what the hell, it sounds like a laugh! So count me... Fresh Prince x Mario Kart totally needs to happen for real.
  14. OK, last one for me. Some great matches tonight guys, cheers.
  15. I’ll join, might be a bit after 9:15 though.
  16. A ludicrous amount of highlights in tonight’s races. @Glen-i and @Dcubed making unnecessarily aggressive use of the Super Horn, I love it!
  17. OK, I’m going to try and join but am on pretty flaky WiFi, so if I can’t connect or suddenly disappear, don’t bother waiting.

Hehehe! Team Spring Man here. This realy is like the Splatfest of Arms though, hope they plan to do them often. BTW, I noticed there are way more rare targets appearing in the warm up section of the lobby now. Guessing it’s just for the duration of this event, but I’ve been making sure to “warm up” as much as possible. Even unlocked a new badge for getting 10+ rare targets. *EDIT* Up to level 21, calling it a day there. Reaching 30 before Friday should be pretty straightforward though, especially with those x3 matches.

I believe you get the badges of the character you used the most during the event. Had a few games earlier too, it’s pretty good. The one hit K.O. and unlimited rush attack games are crazy! I also like how it changes up the lobby and sound effects to be really hyper.
  20. I’m actually loving this. Yes it’s grindy and all that, but for me the charm of Animal Crossing is definitely present. The gameplay has obviously been heavily simplified for mobile, but I still enjoy catching bugs and fishing (even though you really can’t go wrong ) and it’s just nice to have some kind of new AC experience readily available at all times. Not sure how long it’ll hold my attention for, but right now I’m hooked!

Think it starts today at 3pm for Europe.
  22. Connection is pretty unstable on this, must be a lot of people trying to play. The fact that pretty much everything you do requires sending data online blatantly doesn’t help. Not sure why Nintendo had to go soooooo OTT with that, I understand it for anything using leaf tickets (obviously), but for everything else it’s just overkill. Anyway, still enjoying this when it works. If anyone wants to add me, here’s my ID: 1976 3096 035
  23. This is available now on iOS.
  24. I’m guessing/hoping it means new clothing items in the shops, I had everything purchased ages ago.
