Hahaha! I captured the very same moment: So stupid. Classic. A few more: Is it just me, or is Gyfcat embedding a bit weird on this new forum? Anyway, that was a good laugh yesterday. I'd definitely be up for more post-MK8 League Splatoon 2.
-
Yeah, was pretty good in the end. I hate sniper rifles though, so what did the game do? Give me 2 in a single Salmon Run.
-
What’s your password @Glen-i? Nevermind
-
I vote league, purely because I haven’t actually played that mode yet.
-
@Sméagol you might wanna Spoiler tag that stuff. *EDIT* Beaten by the Hero of time himself.
-
OK. Salmon Run is open too, so that could be an option. *EDIT* @Glen-i what’s the plan then, you hosting?
-
What, and spoil all your fun? Yeah, not a great session me today... Mucho Lag, a D/C, bad luck, and Mirror Mode.
-
Aww man, got D/C’d.

We be fashionably late.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
RedShell replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah, just got it myself. They should’ve made it have a unique skill enhancement, rather than swimming stamina/speed/whatever the hell it was. Something like giving Link a super high and floaty jump would’ve been funny, not to mention much more fitting to Xenoblade. -
So I only noticed this recently (when messing around with photo mode ) but the 2D sections in the game actually use 3D models! If you get close to one of these sections, activate photo mode then zoom in and rotate the camera, you can see that all of the enemies, coins and even Mario himself are slightly raised from the surface. So cool. Anyway, I've reached 600 power moons... I've also been checking out Jump Up, Super Star! covers/remixes on YouTube, it's taken off in a big way: Not surprising though, as it's such an amazing and inspiring piece of music. Stumbled upon this fun vid too :

Third party AAA games on Switch - A lost cause?
RedShell replied to Hogge's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Guy in the vid says he thinks there might be occasional drops to around 25 or 26fps (not sure how he can tell the difference between those 2 ) but yeah, it looks to be 30 for the most part. Resolution has blatantly taken a huge hit, but it's still very impressive. It's just great to see a good port of a high-end game running so well on Switch, hopefully it encourages other devs to bring their games over to the console too. -
Well, it looks (and no doubt will sound ) a lot better than Xenoblade Chronicles X, but yeah... that game did a lot to put me off the franchise (and the RPG genre in general) so I’ll be giving this a miss. Pretty cool how it’s definitely coming out this year though, the Switch release schedule is on fire! Cannot wait to see what 2018’s lineup is going to be like.

A few, yeah. As for strategy, I try to get at least 1 (but preferably 2) of the sub abilities to match the main gear ability via rerolls, then use ability chunks for the final slot/s. Doing it with ability chunks alone is obviously an option, but as the cost increases by 10 each time you add one of the same ability to a piece of gear, you need a lot of chunks to do it that way. It’s also a good idea to make efficient use of the scrub gear option when trying to get hold of specific ability chunks. Go through your entire gear collection and try to only scrub items that already have 3 abilities on them, the cost is 20000 regardless so it makes sense to get as many chunks as you can each time.

I'm actually a bit disappointed. Got some more nice gear though, so that's cool: I'd actually prefer to jump into Splatoon right after the League (which is usually finished by around 8:45pm) although I guess a toilet break is probably a good idea. But either way I'll join in for an hour or so.

You need the homebrew channel (I picked up a cheap secondhand Wii a few years ago specifically for that, as I was too scared to mess with my launch day system ) and a certain app to run import titles/patches, it’s been such a long time since I’ve messed about with that stuff now though I can’t even remember what it’s called. But yeah, you do need a modified console. As for using it with Dolphin, I believe it can be done. Not got that much experience with Dolphin myself though, outside of a few sessions to check out the HD goodness of various GCN and Wii games (F-Zero GX is amazing on it! ) but might look into that for Captain Rainbow as well, especially if I run into any problems with the homebrew method.

I won’t be able to make 10:30pm BTW. Good luck to the rest of you cool cats on team warm though.
-
I’ll be online from 3pm as usual. Looks like it’s going to be increasingly difficult to get Splatfest teams going on this now though. The combination of less N-E peeps still playing and Nintendo’s bizarre 4 player restriction have pretty much killed it. Might be better to try and organise some N-E League Battles at this point.

For anyone that might be interested... The English translation of Captain Rainbow has been completed!! The patch should be made available soon! Going to have to dig up my Wii and import copy of this game. Can't believe it's actually happening! Here's hoping it was worth the wait.

Have to admit it took me quite a while to get used to the ZL+Y timing to make Mario swim properly, his standard swimming is pretty crappy, yeah.
-
You have to use the Joy-Con capture button to save photos, so they always end up in the Switch's album.
-
All of the glider part unlocks are random, apart from the Gold Glider.

Anyway, I've put together a collection of my camera shots. Be warned though, there are a lot of pictures and therefore a lot of potential spoilers below (from many different points in the game) so... anyone that is yet to finish the game or collect over 500 power moons should not click:
