I won’t be able to make 10:30pm BTW. Good luck to the rest of you cool cats on team warm though.
-
I’ll be online from 3pm as usual. Looks like it’s going to be increasingly difficult to get Splatfest teams going on this now though. The combination of less N-E peeps still playing and Nintendo’s bizarre 4 player restriction have pretty much killed it. Might be better to try and organise some N-E League Battles at this point.

For anyone that might be interested... The English translation of Captain Rainbow has been completed!! The patch should be made available soon! Going to have to dig up my Wii and import copy of this game. Can't believe it's actually happening! Here's hoping it was worth the wait.

Have to admit it took me quite a while to get used to the ZL+Y timing to make Mario swim properly, his standard swimming is pretty crappy, yeah.
-
You have to use the Joy-Con capture button to save photos, so they always end up in the Switch's album.

All of the glider part unlocks are random, apart from the Gold Glider.

Anyway, I've put together a collection of my camera shots. Be warned though, there are a lot of pictures and therefore a lot of potential spoilers below (from many different points in the game) so... anyone that is yet to finish the game or collect over 500 power moons should not click:

Seriously, what kind of deranged, reckless psychopath fires a Red Shell backwards? In for next week BTW.
-
That’s unfortunate. Annoying that it’s so easy to encounter spoilers now. Even more so for those of us that are old enough to remember how things were in the good old days of pre-internet gaming. GameXplain were literally the first thing I made absolutely certain to block a few months back, when deciding I’d seen more than enough of Mario Odyssey already. But also unfollowed Nintendo and various other accounts just to be on the safe side. It’s a shame having to resort to that, but basically the only option to remain online and avoid spoilers.
-
Just hit the 500 power moon mark and have unlocked... I probably would’ve reached this point a bit sooner, but am still spending a huge amount of time messing around with the camera! So damn addictive!! This feature simply must return in future Mario titles. Will get some of my shots posted in here soon. Going to try and pace myself when it comes to collecting the remaining power moons now, but the game is just so well designed and so much fun to play that it isn’t easy to slow down. I might need to take even more pictures to help me with that.

Don’t think I’ve ever raced so badly, yet still done as well as I did tonight. Was driving like a complete and utter fool on pretty much every race (especially during 200cc, some serious “pinball” action going on there! ) My mind is hardwired for Mario Odyssey at the moment.

Looks like the European My Nintendo was just a little behind schedule compared to the US and Japan, as some new “rewards” have gone up now. As is usually the case though, nothing to get excited about, it’s just “discounts” for old Wii U and 3DS games that everyone already owns or doesn’t want. It still amazes me how Nintendo managed to go from Club Nintendo to this catastrophe of a service.
-
Would monthly VC titles with added online play do it? If I remember correctly, that’s what they were planning.
-
No new rewards for November? They’ve had something go up at the start of each month before, right? Or perhaps I just imagined that...

Third party AAA games on Switch - A lost cause?
RedShell replied to Hogge's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I gues not. It’s OK though, I don’t consider their games good enough for the Switch. -
But “almost none” of 200 million is probably still quite a lot. Seems crazy to say they haven’t reached an acceptable profit. Makes me wonder what the hell the budget was for it.
-
You’re never as enthusiastic about anything as I am. Did any of the games shown yesterday catch your eye?
-
Guacamelee 2? Awesome! Looking forward to that, although I might just wait for a potential Switch version. TBH, I've been gradually losing interest in the PS4 since getting a Switch. It was much more appealing to me before (during the Wii U era) but now I really struggle to go back to it. Not planning to renew my PS+ subscription either, as the games on there have been pretty disappointing for a while too (that, or they're games I already own, which is in fact even more disappointing. ) and I definitely don't play online enough any more to justify the additional cost. If it wasn't for Yakuza 6 being on the way, I think I'd actually be tempted to sell my PS4.

Huh?

Well, I like Dylan Cuthbert, and I loved The Tomorrow Children, but after the diabolical way Sony handled that game I can’t say I’m particularly looking forward to any announcement from Q-Games for PS4. Apparently they have something in the works for Switch too though, so hopefully that’ll be something good. But yeah, cheers for the mention.
-
Sweet! I did not see that one coming, but with Switch being a “portable” and with KORG having been on both NDS and 3DS, I probably should have. Anyway, great news indeed. Cheers for the heads up.

I’ll be choosing warm breakfast BTW, if anyone wants to join me on the losing side.

Started playing this on Friday, credits rolled yesterday afternoon (about 11 hours total playtime). Don’t think I’ve ever “finished” a 3D Mario game so quickly, then again... I don’t remember having so much fun when playing a 3D Mario as I did with this. Going into it having essentially only seen what was shown at E3 made the experience even better, as there are just so many amazing surprises and references throughout, and it was fantastic seeing all that stuff for the first time on my own playthrough. Everything about Mario Odyssey is just incredible, from the crazy amount of ideas and gameplay mechanics on offer, to the way it looks and sounds. Nintendo are simply light years ahead when it comes to game design, the best in the business by far. I would go into specifics and share some of my numerous screenshots, but I understand there are still some issues with Spoiler tags not working correctly for some users, so don’t want to potentially spoil stuff for anyone else. Anyway, looking forward to spending many more hours with this game and collecting all of the power moons. BTW, heads up for those that might not know, but you can increase the HD Rumble strength in the options. I only found out about halfway through, but set it to strong from that point on. Try it out with the scooter, it’s ridiculous!

What’s the plan then?
