But “almost none” of 200 million is probably still quite a lot. Seems crazy to say they haven’t reached an acceptable profit. Makes me wonder what the hell the budget was for it.

You’re never as enthusiastic about anything as I am. Did any of the games shown yesterday catch your eye?

Guacamelee 2? Awesome! Looking forward to that, although I might just wait for a potential Switch version. TBH, I've been gradually losing interest in the PS4 since getting a Switch. It was much more appealing to me before (during the Wii U era) but now I really struggle to go back to it. Not planning to renew my PS+ subscription either, as the games on there have been pretty disappointing for a while too (that, or they're games I already own, which is in fact even more disappointing. ) and I definitely don't play online enough any more to justify the additional cost. If it wasn't for Yakuza 6 being on the way, I think I'd actually be tempted to sell my PS4.

Huh?

Well, I like Dylan Cuthbert, and I loved The Tomorrow Children, but after the diabolical way Sony handled that game I can’t say I’m particularly looking forward to any announcement from Q-Games for PS4. Apparently they have something in the works for Switch too though, so hopefully that’ll be something good. But yeah, cheers for the mention.

Sweet! I did not see that one coming, but with Switch being a “portable” and with KORG having been on both NDS and 3DS, I probably should have. Anyway, great news indeed. Cheers for the heads up.

I’ll be choosing warm breakfast BTW, if anyone wants to join me on the losing side.

Started playing this on Friday, credits rolled yesterday afternoon (about 11 hours total playtime). Don’t think I’ve ever “finished” a 3D Mario game so quickly, then again... I don’t remember having so much fun when playing a 3D Mario as I did with this. Going into it having essentially only seen what was shown at E3 made the experience even better, as there are just so many amazing surprises and references throughout, and it was fantastic seeing all that stuff for the first time on my own playthrough. Everything about Mario Odyssey is just incredible, from the crazy amount of ideas and gameplay mechanics on offer, to the way it looks and sounds. Nintendo are simply light years ahead when it comes to game design, the best in the business by far. I would go into specifics and share some of my numerous screenshots, but I understand there are still some issues with Spoiler tags not working correctly for some users, so don’t want to potentially spoil stuff for anyone else. Anyway, looking forward to spending many more hours with this game and collecting all of the power moons. BTW, heads up for those that might not know, but you can increase the HD Rumble strength in the options. I only found out about halfway through, but set it to strong from that point on. Try it out with the scooter, it’s ridiculous!

What’s the plan then?

Animal Crossing Mobile Direct - 25th October 4am
RedShell replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Looks like the amiibo update to New Leaf was hinting at some of the stuff in the mobile version then, wonder if this is doing the same for the Switch game? If so, those fishing nets definitely need to stay. Anyway, think this looks pretty good. Reckon it’s going to make some serious “leaf tickets” for Nintendo too. -
Animal Crossing Mobile Direct - 25th October 4am

Seriously hyped for info about this. Guessing it’s more likely to be something of a companion app to the Switch version rather than a standalone AC, but I’d be cool with either. Whichever way it goes, AC is a perfect fit for an on the go, pick up and play experience. Worst case scenario would be a mobile version of amiibo festival or something, but I don’t think Nintendo are that mental. They’re not, are they? -

Woohoo! Shame about the time though. -
I first saw your post on mobile, and wondered what the hell you were on about: It seems iOS is far too posh for Comic Sans. Anyway, IN!

Very bizarre seeing NeoGaf disappear like this. I was never a member over there due to their pretentious registration system, but checked it out pretty much on a daily basis for gaming news. The pre-E3/Nintendo Direct hype over there was always entertaining too.

Video please.

Yeah, absolutely brilliant. It can be pretty tricky to find the capture button during gameplay (using traditional controls at least) especially at 200cc! I managed to grab one particular clip mid-game though, where a Green Shell decided to act like a Red one. AKA major lag. Will post it later. Anyway, cheers everyone. That was a great laugh! Good job recreating the Miis too. *EDIT* Lag Shell : Geoffrey, Blue Shell dodging like a boss : *EDIT 2* Wow. Switch captures do not look good at that size.

Yeah, I haven’t been on it in ages. Always suspected it was going to die pretty quickly though, it was just too late in the 3DS lifespan. Nintendo should’ve modified it for Switch, at least then more people would still be using it, and there would be some form of a messaging system for the console.
-
It’s pretty good. 2 round fights and no items, can get super intense at times.
-
Yeah, that one could be tricky too. Especially for those that have already played ranked a bit (I’m currently at level 10) I imagine it’ll be slightly easier starting from scratch vs lower rank opponents.
-
Ah, so that page will indeed scroll. Also... Daaaaaaamn! Forget what I said about it probably not taking long to complete the badges.
-
@Glen-i, are amiibo costumes cool for tonight's session? Please say yes: See you lot at 8!

Excellent update. Shame the video recording is limited to select software and only 30 seconds (quality ain't all that either ) but it's better than nowt. I'm pretty confident they will improve it in the future though, and with games like MK8DX and now Arms having built-in replay saving anyway, the video duration is slightly less of an issue. Nice to see some progress with the handling of save data too. Baby steps...

Had a great session on this yesterday after the update hit, already got most of the badges! : Unless that screen scrolls once you fill it up... Unlocked a few badges retroactively upon starting the game but a lot of them require you to re-do stuff. Makes sense though I guess, otherwise I would've obtained the majority of the badges in that picture above in one go. Anyway, it's a nice addition to the game and I like how you can attach a badge to your profile/username (I got the one for clearing difficulty level 7 on mine ) but it doesn't look like it's going to take too long to collect 'em all. The replay saving feature is also a great addition, particularly in combination with the new Switch system update and video recording. One strange thing, however, is the disappearance of the "Events" button which was added in version 2.0. Would be a shame if Nintendo have decided to drop that before even running a single event!

Yep, it works fine now. Thanks.
