Did you finish it? I eventually picked it up back in May. Finished the story, but still have a lot of the extra stuff to complete. Moved on to Yakuza Kiwami though (which I did get at launch) and actually got into that game even more than Zero! I'm currently doing a playthrough of Kiwami on Legend difficulty, but am now at the infamous car chase chapter... So yeah, might not happen. How SEGA didn't think to add a checkpoint before that section I'll never know.

Arrrrggghh!! 1 coin short... 1. Bloody. Coin!

You ain't seen nothing yet. Trust me, the black coins get brutal. Collecting all the coins make the game well worth even its original price IMO. I've gotten many hours of gameplay from SMR (more than some of the console Mario titles!) but it's down to going for that extra stuff, playing through the game only once and that's it would make for a pretty forgettable experience really. BTW, here's my Player ID if any new players want to add me:

Add me to the list of people that weren't overly impressed with Super Metroid. I played it back in the day, but the only things that really stuck with me were the intro (which was very atmospheric), and that incredibly hype inducing escape sequence! Man, the music during that section combined with Mode 7 rotation of the stage was just.. wow! Tried to replay it a while back on the VC, but couldn't get into it. I can see why the game is so revered, but it's just not my bag. Remember this?:

Unlocked Daisy yesterday, her double jump is so overpowered on some of the tour stages and Toad rally! Unfortunately it's not much help when trying to complete a certain challenge to unlock one of the levels on Star World, that challenge being "collect 400 coins on 1-2". Looks like Toad is the only option for that, but it's seriously tough! My best is currently 372. Definitely going to keep trying though as I really want to complete Star World. It looks like there's actually a reward for getting all of the extra coins this time around too, as there's golden warp pipe in the shop for 45 black coins which apparently leads to another special course. Anyway, this latest update certainly adds a lot of extra playtime to the game. Anyone picking it up now at half price is nabbing a right bargain.

Cool theme. Count me IN!

I did indeed, brilliant game. Even if you suck at steath gameplay (like me) it’s just as enjoyable played as an action game.

The N-Europe top 10 Nintendo games of all time.

I just really love games where you can customise/create stuff, find it so rewarding. They also offer far more longevity too, every time I play SMM (whether playing other people’s levels or creating my own) the experience is always incredibly different. It’s something that I could basically play indefinitely without ever getting bored. -

Man, it's so tough to put together a list like this! In the end I just chose a game from each system, not including the Switch. WarioWare D.I.Y. (NDS) 2009 Super Mario Maker (Wii U) 2015 Super Mario Kart (SNES) 1992 The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (GB) 1993 Rhythm Tengoku (GBA) 2006 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) 1998 Animal Crossing: New Leaf (3DS) 2012 Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) 1988 Chibi-Robo! (GCN) 2005 Wii Music (Wii) 2008 https://gfycat.com/gifs/detail/RewardingLastBrownbutterfly Had Switch been included then MK8 Deluxe would have probably replaced SMK (as much as I love that game, it's hard to deny that MK8 is the pinnacle of the series now) or Breath of the Wild would have replaced Ocarina of Time. -
Yet another game added to my eShop watch list. Looking forward to checking this out at some point though. Reckon I’ll enjoy this more than the latest Everybody’s Golf actually, which isn’t quite as good as I was expecting it to be.

Sounds good. Guessing there won’t be enough/any more team back roll on here though, but if there are then count me in. *Edit* Oh, posts don’t auto-merge anymore. Interesting.

Hilarious theme. Looking forward to continuing my losing splatfest streak with team back roll.

Nice to see there are a few more software rewards available for gold coins now, nothing too compelling mind you, and still just 3DS & Wii U. Hopefully the Switch rewards aren’t too far off now.

I knew something would have to go wrong with this, it was inevitable. Surely they will patch it though.

Thanks Grazza. And congrats on becoming N-E staff!

Not unlocked her yet, but I seem to remember hearing that she has a double jump.

So many eShop games on my watch list it's not even funny, but I finally made a start on picking them up the other day with Thumper, seeing as it's currently on sale. Absolutely mental game. Was always tempted to get it on PS4 back when it first came out, but never got around to it. Still quite surprised it was ported to the Switch actually, but it looks like they did an amazing job. Highly recommended for anyone that enjoys rhythm/twitch gameplay, it's pretty bloody stressful though! Definitely not a game you can relax to.

The only dead cert for me at the moment is Super Mario Odyssey. Although there are quite a few (actually loads) of Switch eShop games on my to-buy list, oh and I'll be checking out the Zelda DLC too.

Loving the new update on this. Remix 10 is just so hyper, it's like Mario Run on steroids! And the cheese on that music is something else, sounds like it was made for DDR Mario Mix. They were definitely smart to include an option for custom soundtracks in this version. But yeah, the extra speed of Remix 10 combined with very short stages makes it a lot of fun to play, it's got a nice WarioWare vibe to it (love how Mario and Co. now spin down the flagpoles too ). Looks like it's gonna take quite a while to unlock Daisy though. Hopefully they add even more characters in the future, Wario, Waluigi & Birdo would be rad. And then there's Star World, which requires you to complete challenges to first unlock the levels (only done one so far) and another set of pink, purple and black coins to collect in each! So quite a bit of new stuff to check out here, just a shame that the game still eats battery like no tomorrow.

Thanks guys. Those were some fun games last night (well, not so much the first GP ) but the other two (especially Frantic Items) were a nice reminder of how crazy N-E MK can be. You just don't get quite the same level of chaos when playing with randoms.

Thanks man. Damn it, where's the hug emoticon? Oh, there it is! This new forum is seriously confusing me.

Cool. Pretty sure we're already registered as friends on the Switch, my username is Manolito on there though.

Hey there N-E, long time no see! Although something seems a bit different. Anyway, yeah I'm still alive. Didn't have a great start to the year though, so ended up losing interest in posting here and even gaming for a while. Still picked up a Switch at launch (as a few of you might be aware) and have gradually been getting back to my old self... It's nice to see that the MK League is still going on. If there's room for one more in tonight's session (and provided I get home in time) I'd very much like to be IN! again.
