Not so interesting a year for me.

Windjammer 2 just got a January release date so I don't think they'll spend much time on that. Looking forward to seeing what they end with this time. Silksong shadow drop?

Also announced is a Chocobo GP Lite that allows you to play the single player prologue free of charge and also connect to a local network to play against friends that have the full version of the game. Upgrading to the full version will transfer progress.

Watched 8-Bit Christmas the other day. Quite enjoyable movie overall, nothing great but had some charm. The ending was a bit too pukey but also very understandable. I could have wished for more video game related jokes or cameos but it's not important. They had a reference to both Mario and Donkey Kong, though, that was nice. I also think the movie would be alright as a drinking game - drinking every time Nintendo was mentioned.

Ah, sigh. Tip for anyone starting this game now, plant all the seeds as you find a pot! I now have to go back through every part of the game to find unused pots. Can't really be bothered now.

It's certainly a solid game with a lot of value. It doesn't do anything groundbreaking and new but what it does is done well. I only have a few complaints, one being the lack of a map, the other being that you can't use collectibles for anything, making them a little pointless. The story is a bit confusing up till the end where things click but that's mainly because it does a Hollow Knight and just indicates stuff. However, gameplay is really well-done, it's smooth and interesting. There is no strength potions, no luck, and minimal healing so it's always down to pure skill which is really nice. Puzzle wise it's a bit on the easy side but that doesn't matter much. I've defeated the final boss now and am ready to take on the post-game.

What was the game Geoff wanted to show off after 2.5 years that wasn't BotW2?

It would have to be a giant world - otherwise Sonic would be able to run through it in a second. Granted that would be nice so we wouldn't spend so much time traversing the world but still.

PokéBalls are the skin of Voltorbs. They kill Voltorbs to contain other Pokémon. Kind of dark.

You can now cancel pre-orders on eShop. Or at least if you live in the EU. But there is a page on Nintendo.co.uk that explain the steps so I guess you lot also can.

Just got tickets for Spider-man 3 on December 15th! Really looking forward to seeing it!

Got this for review last Friday and have played it for about 5 hours. So far, it's brilliant. I really enjoy the sense progression. There's never too far between upgrades, and combat is very enjoyable. However, I miss a map so I can easily see where I have been to go there and collect stuff I missed, and then I also find myself cornered by enemies and walls a bit too often - of course that's on me but it's frustrating to die because you accidentally rolled into a corner and then having three or more enemies stop you from getting out. Minor niggles, though. It's a beautiful game as well, the soundtrack is really nice and calm with enough variety between areas. Currently, I am about to collect the second of three Giant Souls. That area has been quite the labyrinth, though, so I'm sure I missed stuff there!

Yay! Will get a pay raise next year! However, no one knows how big it will be. It's just calculated by an algorithm. I find that a bit funny because: At a performance appraisal I got a score of 3 which translates to "exceeds expectations" - there are 4 in total, 2 being "meets expectations". So based on that score, the pay raise will be calculated from current pay according to my role (my role says that I should be paid within the range of u and w, the role above me v to x where u < v < w < x) and the total amount of money put aside to pay raises, as well as the total number of 3s and 4s. That's a whole lot of variables! The pay raise will be effectuated in January where the amount will be revealed. I do know that it'll be more than 1 % raise, though, as that is the recalibration done every year for everyone scoring 2 or more.
