When will the review embargo be lifted?
-
I'm worried it's going to be crammed and overall bad but I got tickets for the premiere on Wednesday. Looking really forward to it!

There were some scales in the dressing room in the gym today so I took advantage of it and stepped up. 68 kg with pants and a sweaty t-shirt on. This means that I weigh almost the same as I did 12 years ago when I was 17. I find that a bit impressive. Hopefully the distribution has changed quite a bit, I feel I have gained quite a lot more muscle mass since then - the scales did say something about 38 but didn't see if that was % or kgs - I presume % as it would otherwise leave me only 30 kg for bones and everything else! I didn't see any number for body fat percentage but I assume it's near 10 as it was a couple of years ago. Still going strong with front squats - I do 5x8 @ 52.5-57.5 kg now and find it tolerable. Might need to move to 60 kg. before the end of next week. However, I find that it's straining my elbows to hold the bar in front rack position for that long and so I sometimes cross my arms. Weirdly, though, this makes the squat a bit harder, I find. ANyone else having this experience?

I find it funny that they tie this with Cpt. America and not just call it "Marvel's Civil War" or something instead. Having his name in the title, you tend to stick to that guy but this movie should really be about seeing both angles. Anyway, excited! Didn't quite like the voice of Spiderman but his moving eyes are cool, though do that in the comics as well. I do like the tone of the trailer, it's quite dark. Hopefully this won't be getting the punchline-treatment every other Marvel movie has got and just stick with some kind of drama with the occasional witty comeback.

Next episode of Flash (maybe?) includes another character:

I can try! - You must pull your shoulders back when standing on your hands. It may sound weird but try hanging in a bar with tightened shoulders. They should be in the same position as that. - Stay tight in the core and glutes and push your feet together. - Look at the ground right between the hands through the top of your eyes. It works better if there is something on the floor to look at, a spot or something. - When getting up, put your hands further from your feet than you initially would like to. This is a good way to get up there in a steady fashion, it's harder to lose your balance and tip over this way. I aim to place my hands at somewhere between 1 and 1.5 metres from my feet though this depends on your height - I'm 1.81 m. - When you get used to standing against the wall, try to push your feet off it and stay 1-2 cm from the wall with your heels. - Keep the balance bending in the elbows and pressing through the fingers. If you are falling forward, press against the floor with your finges, when falling backwards, bend a bit in the elbows. This is the hard part of handstands without support! Hope it helps.

I think one should just limit the intake of both sugar and sweeteners. Neither is really good for you. Personally, though, I prefer Coke Zero rather than Regular (cola is the only place I get artificial sweeteners, I think) partly because regular gives me a stomach ache but also due to the fact that it doesn't contain calories. I drink around 1 L a week or something, so I wouldn't really call it serious.

Got my bike stolen at the end of January and just recently got a new one so I can bike to work again. One month without true biking and now back again, I can really feel it in the legs, even though it's just been three days this week. I've been altering my squats every month this year. January was 5x5 backsquat, while February was 5x8 backsquats. Now, in March, I'll do 5x8 front squats. As I don't have time for this more than once or at most twice a week, I won't progress much so varying it this way ensures that I don't loose too much strength in the legs. Arms, though, are going to wither away this semester! Only doing push-ups and the occasional pull-ups will have to do for the most.

Pokemon Red, Blue & Yellow (3DS Virtual Console)
MindFreak replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'm impressed that you got six Pokémon to level 100 in just 13 hours - even before defeating Elite Four! -
Just won this game in a competition so I'll have to play the demo soon. Does the demo explain the battle system or does it suppose that you've played the original? Looking really much forward to playing this, it looks immense. Unfortunately, due to work and university studies I don't have that much time and I'm still playing Fire Emblem Awakening, so I'll probably not be playing this before summer.

Worth waiting for, of course.

And part 2 of the trailer is out now
-
Oh. I see! I haven't seen that movie. Funny. But still not quite worth it.
-
I have no idea what that means in relation to that scene....
-
I liked it but not as much as many here seem to do. I had fun, the action was great but the movie overall is overrated and over-hyped, I think. The fourth wall thing was a bit too artificial so I'm glad they only did it explicitly a couple of times. The subtle ones were great, though. It was alright but I don't have to see it again. Also, the post-credit scene was irrelevant.
-
It didn't quite seem that way, thankfully. However,

That was enjoyable! Damn! The fighting scene in the beginning was taken directly out of the Arkham-games. And the final shot! Damn!

TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan (Platinum Games)
MindFreak replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Other Consoles
Sigh, no Wii U version... why? Well, I like the art style for once, I find the eyes OK. Will pay more attention to it in the future to see if it's worth a purchase for 360. -
Not disagreeing with Daft, however, studies show that if you take the protein within 30 minutes of the workout, it will give a better result or faster or something. That said, I don't believe in protein shakes myself. Just drink a glass of milk afterwards and eat food with a high protein count like lentils, beans, meats, and .. other stuff during the day.

Good God, I hate Barbara and her role on this. She's such a whiny character "Buhu, my boyfriend is not telling me about his SECRET POLICEWORK, I want to break up with him. Oh, and I was a lesbian before I met you, big boy!" It's so boring and meaningless. I hate it that I know she's an important character in the Batman universe, I wish she'd die in the show. Four or five episodes in, not really feeling it much but I see that it picks up around episode 10 or such? So just.. hang in there... right?

Do both? Fast improves your explosiveness while slow improves the core strength of the muscle - both are important to have a balanced body. Yesterday I did deadlifts, 4x12 as part of the gym classes I attend. Did 90 kgs which was merely because of a bad grip - I think I could probably have done 100 kg on the last set but didn't have the weights nor the strength in the grip. After that we did one hell of a workout: every minute on the minute, 18 minutes, with 15 kettlebell swings (24 kg) and 12 burpees. After one round it became clear that it would be nearly impossible to do this for us so we scaled it down to 10-12 swings and 6-10 burpees. I did 12 / 8 and barely had time left. I think most did 10 / 6 but I'm not sure. I can't believe that anyone can keep it at 15 / 12 for 18 minutes!

It'll release 24th March instead of 25th, alongside a Hyrule Edition New 3DS XL. Also, Wolf Link amiibo unlocks some exclusive content, Zelda-related amiibo from Smash Bros.-series unlock weapon enhancements and the rest of the amiibo unlocks random rewards, as was the case with the Wii U-version.
