  1. Nice, but I do really hope that you've got some guidance and not just started on your own. You need someone to watch you and teach you the right techniques before you get to those weights!
  2. I've quite quickly come to the point where I can lift 5x5 backsquats, overhead press and 3x5 deadlift without feeling it at all the day after, even though I wouldn't be able to press the weights further up. This surprises me but I don't think it's that bad - it's just my body being used to this kind of strain.
  3. Same here, the medals are really hard to get. I'm not sure I'm bothered to do it all again but I at least want to open all the levels. On a side note, had a friend over the other day and we played it. We started talking about how long it would take to go through the entire game of Lylat Wars / Star Fox 64, i.e. from start in Corneria to beating Andross. I remember it being really short but on howlongtobeat.com it says 2 hours which is more than twice what I thought.
  4. I haven't experienced this. Are you playing on the regular 3DS? Thanks for the tips, I'll go read the manual for once.
  5. Hmm. I think this game is a bit too hard to start with. Even after 3 hours of gaming, I still can't figure out how to win best, even though I'm quite decent at the solitaire part of the game. The Giddyap button thing is basically too complex and the tutorial was too deep and too quick, it threw everything at you at the same time. It would have been better to pace it out a bit, not letting me go to "real" races so soon. Also especially the START-solitaire is a bit hard as it seems that it values speed over 5-star which is a shame as the card layout is random and you thus cannot be truly good at it. I like the regular solitaire better. However, I do like the game and the concept overall, it's really fun and challenging. I'm still on my first real horse after First Run was brutally taken from me by the previous jockey! I chose Blingin' Kid who has now matured and I actually won my first Mature Race with quite a margin.
  6. Aww, had hoped for FAST as one of the three new games but still happy with buying the bundle, even though I had a few of the games beforehand. I also have Runbow, reviewed it when it was released, and it's a really good game. I hope that this bundle has revived the online as it died quite fast.
  7. Cheers! Also, if you have a lot of bananas that need to be used soon (>=4), try mashing all of them, add n-2 eggs (say, 5 bananas, 3 eggs), some oatmeals, some cut dades (small chunks), vanilla powder and a bit of chocolate pieces. Then bake it in the oven for 30-40-ish minutes, voilá, banana cake that's not too unhealthy! On a fitness note, I have now gone up to 80-85 kg backsquat for 5x5 (80-80-82.5-82.5-85), 37.5-40 kg overhead press 5x5 (40-40-40-37.5-37.5) and 110 kg deadlift 3x5. Pretty satisfied with that progress since early-mid-April (started at 70-75 kg squat).
  8. I make these quite often but I add an egg to the mix and then put in a bit more oatmeal. Fry it on a frying pan for a nice result - like pancake but healthier. I also add some vanilla powder to give it some cake-like flavour for weekend snacks. Sometimes I make it for breakfast together with a small glass of yoghurt with müsli.

  11. [tweet]725232136496750594[/tweet] What?
  12. I bought it just now even though I've already got ASA, Citizens of Earth and Shantae. Couldn't resist and can't wait to see what other games are added on May 3rd. Shame it doesn't give Gold Points, though...
  13. No-one's saying it's a love-story between Fire and Ice...
  14. Response to first part:
  15. Isn't barrel rolling a bit too slow in this game? I mean, double-tapping the right stick just feels too slow for the purpose of barrel roll.
  16. Alright, just cleared training and the first level on this. So far, I don't find the controls that hard to adjust to. Sure, they require a bit from you but it's not near as bad as some people make it out to be! Also really, really like that you can quit from the main game now and not lose progress. You couldn't do that in Lylat Wars if I remember correctly.
  17. I went back to stronglifts, doing 5x5 backsquat, 5x5 shoulder press, 4x5 deadlifts, with 5 pull-ups between every set of the first two and dips between sets of deadlifts, two-three times a week. Really enjoying this, it's a really nice combination that just takes the body to another level and hits every major muscle in the body.
  18. "Nothing good ever happens" was how I felt about The Walking Dead and ultimately why I gave up on that in season 2. This, though, I find that good things do happen, the bad stuff is just overwhelming at times. I won tickets for the premiere in a local, giant cinema (Imperial it's called) but I had a dinner date with a couple of friends and only got two tickets so I gave up on them. I'm gonna regret that so much, this show is so epic to watch in a cinema!
  19. Just bought honeymoon tickets for Palermo, Sicily, this May. Gonna be good! Anyone been there with some tips to share?
  20. Well, I caved and placed an order for the regular version. Hopefully it'll arrive on Thursday as we have a public holiday on Friday.
