Isn't that a tiny bit harsh? It's a valid point he's making. If you're advertising something as a "4K" machine. Isn't it a little bit strange that it's not achieving true 4K? Of course, if it lowers the price, then it's fine. But do we know how much the Scorpio is? If it's substantially more expensive than the Pro, I think it might have been a smart move.

Hey, you made your choice. Your path should be clear! Not even got this yet, sorry for not being helpful. I just wanted to spout Smash Bros Corrin quotes.
-
Wow, I was expecting something a bit more substantial.
-
I've been meaning to ask this, but what has got people so wound up? Could someone tell someone who hasn't been following the PS4 Pro news? In a really simple way because I know next to nothing about PS4 related stuff?

Oh darn, you did better than me on AM2R... In both clear time and percentage rate... Will be talking about that next, but not now. Haven't got the time.

OSU! A while back I played through all 3 Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! games on the DS. For those utterly bewildered, they are rhythm games that exclusively use the touch screen. The object of the games is to touch icons in time to the music, the more precise you are, the more points you score. What's that? It's suddenly looking very familiar? I'm sure a lot of you are thinking, "Hang on, that's Elite Beat Agents, isn't it?" Yes, that's because it basically is. Elite Beat Agents is a kind of westernised version of this game made for us lot. It's part of the same series. "Osu! Tatake! Ouendan!" and it's sequel "Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatake! Ouendan!" (Bloody hell...) both never made it out of Japan, because let's face it. They're very Japanese. The songs are all Japanese, obviously, and I'm not surprised they just made a different game for us lot. Ouendan! follows a professional cheerleading squad as they go around inspiring people to overcome daily life challenges, such as trying to get a promotion, studying for college exams or growing to the size of a building and punching an equally titanic mouse in the face. You know, the usual stuff. Anyway, the gameplay is great, simple to get to, but the higher difficulties can really challenge you. It takes no prisoners. I'm sure many of you DS owners played Elite Beat Agents. And if you were ever craving more of that. You should try and get your hands on these Japanese versions, you definitely don't need to know Japanese to enjoy them. Just don't expect many songs you recognise. Although they are very catchy. And if you haven't played Elite Beat Agents yet. GO PLAY ELITE BEAT AGENTS, IT'S BRILL! And with that...

Oh gee! You think!? I hate that excuse, always seems like a go to for when someone doesn't like something. I can't have opinions because it's not for me? Then what's the point of this forum then?
-
Oh good, I'm not the only one who thought so. They do smack of cringe a bit, huh?

Don't act like I don't pay attention to footage. Give me more credit than that. There's no actual punishment for running head-first into them, that's what erks me. It's a timing game, that's all it's got going for it so far. Speedrunning through a Mario platformer is far more satisfying and challenging, but the best thing is, you don't have to do that.

Ewww, I'm not feeling the "Nintendo GO". Not a good name at all. I really hope it isn't that.

Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing Heading To Mobile

I would let Olivia get Permadeath'd so goddamn fast! Stupid snobby cat... -
So what is the point? You still need to have the game on in your pocket? So it's still draining the phone's battery, right?
-
I didn't say bad, I said dull. There's a world of difference there. Movement satisfaction is a big part of the "Good Platformer" package for me, so taking that away makes me sceptical. You also happen to be talking about my second favourite NSMB game, so I'm not sure what you're getting at.
-
Yep, that's hilarious. That's the kind of Gen 1 pandering I can get behind!
-
Yes, that's the assumption that's going around. And for the sake of my sanity, I really hope that's the case.
-
Just because you don't have to buy them, doesn't mean they're not a blight on video gaming. And let's face it, that Mobile boom cemented microtransactions. I'm suddenly getting flashbacks to Jimquisition...
-
Yep, I'm with you there. It's the single biggest reason why microtransactions are so prevalent these days.
-
If by "End of the series" it means "End of Pokemon RPG's", then that's laughable! Ignore it.

The social aspect is the main reason GO did as well as it did. Well, that and it being free to download. The game still has very little to do with Pokemon games other than the Pokemon themselves. You're not gonna convince me it has depth though. I am curious how much SMR getting a price to play will impact it, it'd certainly be interesting to find out. Great way of testing my "The majority of mobile gamers are astonishingly cheap" theory.
-
I was referring to Pokemon GO with that statement. The negativity comes from the bad first impression it's given me. And I never said I wouldn't give it a chance. It's just not looking very fun. You know I still haven't bought Fire Emblem: Fates? If the auto-jump was an option, then I wouldn't mind it being there. If there's one humourous thing to take from this, you could argue Ninty had more online presence today than Sony. Which is genuinely impressive.
-
Fair enough. We'll have to see then. I'm not getting my hopes up though. I will say this though. It looks a hell of a lot more interesting than Pokemon GO. With GO, I saw about 5 minutes of gameplay before thinking, "My word, this is nothing like Pokemon" At least here, there seems to be a little bit of effort put in. It still doesn't look very engaging though. Will at least try it on @Dcubed's iPhone. No way in hell I'm shelling out for this without playing it first.
-
Well yeah, in the same way that playing Mega Man with one hand increases the challenge? Less control seems to translate to "More Frustration" most of the time. It's the reason Little Big Planet doesn't feel as nice to play. Mario games play well because of the amount of control the player has.
-
Thank you. In other news, seems like you don't even need to avoid Goombas in this game. And people thought Super Guide was taking the mick?
-
It could be a game on my freaking fridge for all I care. But if it's not got good gameplay, I don't give a damn! When did this preconceived notion that I think all games on a non-console are inherently bad come from? Mario Run looks utterly dull. Yes, you could argue it's not for me. So what? I don't get a say? I'm a huge Mario fan. Suddenly I don't matter?
-
For the millionth time! I'm not referring to how it impacts Nintendo as a company. I would like a game that has some modicum of interesting gameplay for me. Is that so bad? And don't assume I think all Pokemon games on consoles are good, because they are most certainly not. I'm not that blind!
