Don't misunderstand me, I know full well the Vita is better than the PSP. I played FF7 on it! I just thought it'd be funny and entertaining if Sony tried to pull off a "it never happened" thing. You know, like Ninty did with the Virtual Boy. Well, until Tomodatchi Life came out, when they decided "Hey, we can use this for the sake of comedy"
-
We still don't know whether that's the case though. A little bit too soon to call that. Give it time though.

Those kind of comically wrong toys always have a strange alluring charm to me. Whether it be for an easy laugh or a strange underdog factor depends on the person though. It's both for me.

Yes, Ronnie, we all know. We've had this conversation before. At least twice. We get it.
-
Actually, it would be kinda funny if they did release a handheld and called it the PSP 2. "Introducing the PSP 2, our second handheld console. Because we've only released one so far and no-one can tell us otherwise!"

I suck at this, why can't I stop playing?

Well, there's your problem. The Blue Falcon is an awful vehicle in Mario Kart Wii! -
I find it amazing some of.you are still entertaining the idea of a subscription fee for a console! It's official, the lack of info has literally driven people mental.

You're almost right, pace is based on the relevant position of all the horses, not just yours. So charging ahead can quicken the pace, but I would advise against that, building up energy/getting experience should be your priority. I wouldn't worry too much about pace, just keep in mind that when going around corners, there's some kind of orange/red zigzag pattern that appears on the touch screen, unless you've got Super Unity, do your best to stay out of that, because your stamina will drain really fast if you're in that. The higher the pace, the closer you have to stick to the bottom when going around corners.

They work perfectly well. You'll have to fiddle with the virtual console menu (Press ZR on the Gamepad while playing) to find a screen setup that works with the game you're playing though. For example, here's an option with putting the focus on the touch screen. You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse That displays on one screen, it's good for games that use the top screen as a map, etc. It works in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, but it'd be terrible for Metroid Prime Hunters. I imagine the option to have the touch screen on the Gamepad with the top screen displayed on the TV would work best.

Is it? I thought the majority of people like 3D World? I certainly wouldn't call it under-rated.

Ok yeah, @Dcubed already talked about it, but I wanna turn! AM2R (Stands for Another Metroid 2 Remake, which implies there are a lot of Metroid 2 remakes out there already, which I was not aware of) is a fan game, yes a fan game, developed by some bloke called Milton Guasti. It was released on August 6 this year... but unfortunately, and rather predictably, was issued with a DMCA takedown request on September 2. I am not going to go into whether this was justified or not, because I do not want to start this conversation here. I'm focusing on the game itself. This game is an enhanced remake of the Game Boy game "Metroid II: Return of Samus" much like how Metroid Zero Mission was an enhanced remake of Metroid. It features redone graphics, music, new areas and minibosses along with controls much like Zero Mission, which in my books, is a massive plus. Anyway, time for story, which means I get to write up another totally accurate and informative Metroid plot synopsis. Stop groaning and shut up! The game follows Samus, just after totally ruining the Space Pirates' plans in the Metroid Prime games. And quite frankly, she's had enough of Metroids. They just cause far too much trouble, so naturally, the best thing to do is go to their home planet, SR388, and explode all of them. Also the Galactic Federation is there as well, and need rescuing no doubt. So Samus has to kill every Metroid. Definitely not bring any back with her, maybe help the Federation if it happens to be on the way and possibly just for the hell of it, make SR388 go boom, because sometimes you just have to make sure! Like I said before, the game aims to do what Zero Mission did with Metroid 1, and it succeeds in that regard. Samus feels absolutely tight to control and overall, very satisfying. If you played Zero Mission, it won't take long to feel right at home here. It's quite linear compare to other Metroid games though, what with you making your way deeper as you kill more and more of the Metroid-y blighters. Nothing wrong with that, as there's still plenty of exploring to be done if you want those oh so precious Energy Tanks and Missile Expansions. I also mentioned that this game adds some new minibosses and they're definitely the highlight of the show. They're very well designed and I had a ton of fun fighting them. Milton is to be commended here, because there are some very unique twists that will no doubt surprise Metroid diehards. The music is great, a few very subtle remixes complement some original tunes, making a very pleasing soundtrack. It all just feels very polished. Although that said, there is one flaw that hampered the experience a bit that I can't ignore... OH DAMNIT! Not again! The Metroid fights themselves are just not fun. They're very finicky with incredibly harsh hitboxes and tend to take place in areas that are hard to traverse. After a certain point, I started dreading them. Not because they were scary, but they were annoying. And considering the amount of times you fight them, that's not a good thing. Special shout-out goes to the Omega Metroids, which seems to be put there just to ruin the game. Hope you like getting stunlocked to death! For some bizarre reason, touching these things locks you into an one-and-a-half second animation where Samus gets knocked on to the floor, during which time, you can still get hit. So it's very likely you get trapped next to a wall and constantly flung on to the floor and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. Which is less than fun. Despite that though, it's a very good game. Certainly up there with other 2D Metroids and I'd play this over the Game Boy original in the future, so it's done it's job and it's done it well. In fact, you could say... Mission accomplished! Ok, I'll shut up now... And with that...

I somehow saw that one coming a mile off.

Now this is where you and I differ. For as much as I like Sticker Star and Super Paper Mario. The Thousand-Year Door is still my favourite entry. It's an absolutely staggering game. Although if you don't like RPG's, it's probably not for you.

Do you use bikes in Mario Kart Wii? Because if not, that's your problem. That game was hilariously unbalanced. -
Ok, now we're getting somewhere. There's gotta be some kind of deep traumatic stress going on here. We've gotta delve deeper into this. Now show me on the hilariously misshaped Yoshi toy where Super Paper Mario hurt you.
-
But Super Paper Mario is another good game. It's my least favourite Paper Mario title, but it's still good. Really funny too!
-
Never let that person near any business... Actually, you know what? Let's get him to Konami. I'm sure he'll fit right in.
-
Yep that one looks way edgier and more werewolf like. So naturally, I want it. Yeah, I think at this point I'm well over six Gen 7 Pokemon I want to use in my playthrough... Bugger! On the plus side, I can at least put the overall Pokemon design higher than Gens 4 and 6 in my "Best Pokemon designs" list. Not even close to the lofty heights of Gen 5 yet though. But it's getting there.
-
Subtle... Also, missing the point of why I'm not too keen on SMR. But it's clear some people don't listen to me on that topic anyway. I feel like people need to stop seeing this as some kind of "Traditional" Paper Mario game replacement (I use that term loosely because at this point, there's more non-traditional games then traditional ones). Because yes, Sticker Star isn't a good "Paper Mario" game, because it wasn't trying to be a traditional Paper Mario game in the first place. Yes, it has flaws. I can understand why people felt the lack of experience points made battles feel pointless (I disagree, you got coins which helped you buy more powerful stickers, making future battles easier, you get what you put in) The lack of varied characters is a baffling decision. But the game was still fun, the battles have a lot more strategy to them. It wasn't just about winning, it was about winning without letting the enemy move (Because then you get bonus coins for buying more stickers) The Thing stickers could have been executed better (Something that Colour Splash seems to be addressing, along with the upgradable paint capacity) and the lack of story is a bit of a shame. But this style of game has something to it, it just needs some fine tuning. Oh, and Sticker Star has the most challenging Final Battle in all of the Paper Mario games, and yes, I am including Thousand Year Door in that.
-
Yeah, this game is definitely in the running of "Most gorgeous WiiU game" right alongside Kirby and the Rainbow Curse and Yoshi's Woolly World. Nice to see some people are coming around to this game after the initial "Oh no, it's Sticker Star" shenanigans.

Yo, I'll take it!

Look at me, starting a thread conversation. Breaking all sorts of new boundaries here! Anyway... Have you ever played a game that you're unbelievably terrible at, but yet you still enjoy a lot? I ask this because it happens to me with Tetris. I am awful at Tetris. You wanna know how bad I am? I only just saw the credits on the Game Boy original last week. I first got that game when I was 4! My Mum, who can't grasp the concept of running in a 2D Mario Platformer, beat it in 1995! And yet, I have 3 different versions of the damn thing downloaded on my 3DS, and all of them have high scores set by my Mum. And I can't even get close to beating them, and I know she wasn't even trying, so if, by some fluke chance, I pull it off, next time she boots it up, she'll ask if I beat her score yet, I'll say yes, then she'll wreck that score in half an hour tops. It should be absolutely soul-destroying, the only time I ever beat @Dcubed and @Ugh first aid in Tetris (Or other action-based puzzle games, for that matter) is when they do something unbelievably dumb, or I get that broken item that swaps playing fields with someone else at the perfect time, so why do I keep playing it so much? I honestly don't know. So do any of you have a game you really enjoy that you know full well you can't play to save your life? Go on, hit me with your anecdotes! This is the stuff of my nightmares!

Personally, my favourite is Streetpass Fishing. That game lasts quite a while. A bit random, but fun for quick play sessions.

Yeah, I've decided that I'm gonna try and pay a bit more attention to the Other Consoles Board. If only so I won't be quite so ignorant in the future. It's just that I was always under the impression that the Pro was gonna be about 4K, whether that be due to my lack of knowledge or just seeing the wrong kind of assumptions, I don't know. But it was the impression I got. The price Microsoft give the Scorpio will definitely be a crucial factor into whether it's a success or not. That said, given their latest PR tweets, I kinda want them to crash and burn for instigating more console war nonsense. Anyway, going to go back about three pages and catch up a tad.
