  1. Eh, this team was a bit of a bust in the end. Didn't perform as well as I did last month. Zapdos was great, really solid setup I had. Marowak, as always is fantastic and Tapu Koko is always a good pivot switcher. But Dragonite, despite Multiscale, didn't do as well as I expected. Not sure why. Machamp did it's job well, tank a hit and retaliate with guaranteed Dynamic Punch. Bullet Punch as a final middle finger didn't live up to expectations much though, Shame, really. If only No Guard Fissure Machamp was possible... Nidoking really let me down though, Sheer Force cancelled out the recoil from Life Orb, but I still didn't get much damage done with it. Despite STAB Sludge Wave with Sheer Force and Life Orb boosts... Z-Moves keep blindsiding me, they always catch me off guard. Everyone just keeps using them as Nuke buttons. I much prefer Mega Evolutions, at least you can predict them somewhat... Can we have them back in next month's online competition please? Highlight for me was this match where I totally ruin a girl's day by pulling off an extremely lucky comeback. That'll teach her for using way OP Pokemon with infuriating items. 458W-WWWW-WWW6-6LAV Every tournament, I hate Mimikyu more and more. Truly the Klefki of this generation. Stupid one-trick pony... What's that? It has Swords Dance. Wow! How interesting! That makes it just like every other bloody Mimikyu!
  2. So going by this, it'd just be the same result? No-one's changed their mind. Remain/Remain, just in case you're wondering.
  3. I only just discovered this thread 5 minutes ago. The previous page alone is completely hilarious to someone like me who doesn't touch the stuff. Thank you @Nolan. My Morning activities are sorted today. EDIT: All done! So much utter twoddle!
  4. It's a bloody Slime! Stop getting battered! Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime is a spin-off of the Dragon Quest Series. It's a gooey action adventure much like the Zelda Series. It came out in America in 2006, but never made it over here. The game follows a bog-standard Slime enemy named Rocket. He lives in a town called Boingburg, a town full of Slimes. Stuff quickly gets messy when a organisation called the Plob invades and kidnaps 100 of the Slimy population. Luckily, Rocket didn't get slimenapped because for certain reasons, he didn't look much like a Slime at the time. So Rocket's quest involves defeating the Plob and rescuing the other 100 Slimes. Pretty simple, right? As I mentioned before, the game plays much like a Zelda game. A 2D one, mind you. None of these new-fangled open-world shenanigans here. Most of the mechanics revolves around Rocket's Elasto Blast attack, which catapults him places, which he uses to attack and carry stuff. He can send all this stuff back to his hometown, which can be used in a segment I'll get to. All around the world are Treasure Chests that contain your Slime brethren which, naturally, you should look for, otherwise, what's the point? What's this Slime on!? These bits don't get too taxing. Combat is pretty simple. Rocket is kinda ridiculous in how strong he is. (Which is strange, considering he's a slime) Not to mention all the Heart Container rip-off's, you shouldn't be dying in this game, really. I still found it enjoyable, a few puzzles, a bit of exploration, it does what it sets out to do. The other half of the game involves Giant Tank Battles. Oh yeah, there's giant tanks in this. And you get one in the shape of a Slime, naturally. These sections involve you shoving all the stuff you've collected on your journey into cannons and shooting them at the enemy. This is surprisingly in-depth, you can equip your tank with 20 pieces of ammo at once and they all have different effects, some are for attacking, others can block incoming cannon fire, while others heal your tank. You can even fire yourself from a cannon in an attempt to infiltrate the enemy tank and sabotage it from within, fight a commander or even nick their ammo, bring it to your tank and use it against them. You can even enlist some Slimes you rescue to help you out and they all have different behaviours. Once a tank loses it's HP, the engine gets exposed, allowing someone to run into the tank and blow it up, ending the fight. These are loads of fun. And it's even Multiplayer to boot, good luck finding someone else with this game though... Also, Chrono Twigger The visuals and sound are nothing amazing, not offensive, but just... well, there. It's all very cute though. Wait, is that a pistol? And this game is rated E? I certainly enjoyed Rocket Slime. It's nothing amazing, but it's a nice Zelda-Lite that oozes charm and fun. That said, if you hate Slime puns, you might want to look elsewhere... And with that...
  5. I'm up for it tomorrow. @Dcubed won't be able to though. So it'll just be me and anyone else who wants to join in.
  6. You ever considered the possibility that you might have a Trophy addiction?
  7. Ever played a Kirby game? That's basically Smash Bros. Platformer. Co-op Subspace is loads of fun! It's quite beefy as well and the higher difficulties are quite difficult. The Great Maze might have been a touch overkill, sure. But it was a solid side-scrolling beat-em-up And I agree that the bosses were great! As for the narrative, no-one wanted a sweeping epic full of drama and romance and such. It's there for silly Mario meets Pit style shenanigans. A whole bunch of "What if's" If you're a long time game enthusiast and don't raise a smile at the cutscene where Lucario uses Aura to see through Snake's Cardboard box, you take things far too seriously. Or what about Shiek and Fox getting into a fight only for the whole thing to immediately stop when Peach brews some tea? It's cool to see these interactions. EDIT: And for what it's worth. Lucas has a surprisingly moving story arc. It was quite touching watching him start from a coward who ditched Ness to save himself and end up saving Pokemon Trainer with no concern for himself. It's lovely and a nice mirror to his character development in Mother 3. The best part is that in Smash 4, he smiles a lot more than he did in Brawl. Cool little touch there. Also, if you do it right, you can finish the game with only Bowser, Kirby, King Dedede, Ness, Luigi and Sonic. They're the only mandatory characters. Everyone else can be left in Subspace, never to return. Which is funny.
  8. Oh, so if you're in the middle of a game, others can't join the room until it's over and you're back in the waiting room? That sucks.
  9. That might be the case, it's completely possible that if at least 1 person joins, the room stays open and others can join in later on. If that's the case, chances are, they'd have to wait until the current match is over before they can play. I'm not sure though, all three of us joined dazzybee at the same time.
  10. It was fun, I think I killed myself more than any of you did. Par for the course for me. @Dcubed told me that they're working on patching the lag issues, so that should help. Next time, I'm using the Pro controller. I kept moving diagonally because of the Control stick. Shame about me not being able to have a name other than 4P. Fast RMX did it, so I was kinda hoping this would do the same.
  11. Go to Create Room and make sure Friend Room is on. EDIT: What is going on? We're finding no-one. @dazzybee, have you given up?
  12. I don't think you're friends with @Dcubed. 0401-9926-5412
  13. I'll be with him as well in that case. Should be fun. I suck at Bomberman, so no doubt it'll be funny.
  14. I went ahead and added my details to that spreadsheet. I will have to add everyone there soon.
  15. Nah, that makes WAY too much sense. After all, that's what I do, and I'm certifiably nuts.
  16. Well then, you need to get working on that, don't you?
  17. I gave this game a bash on @Ugh-First-Aid's Switch. Gameplay wise, it's pretty much a sequel to Chrono Trigger, the battle system is pretty much the same with a few additions. Unlike Chrono Cross, which went in a completely different direction which I just didn't find that fun. Might have to get this when I pay off my Switch.
  18. You nearly gave me a bloody heart attack, @Hogge! I thought it was something concrete! Just combining the 3DS stages into the WiiU version is enough of a sell for me. I play Smash at least once a week in 8-player Smash and more characters always gets the kids at my community excited. Unless it's Cloud, who everyone was too young to recognise. On the other hand, Lucas got the best reaction, because he was in Brawl, a Wii game that pretty much everyone played. Funny thing is, Cloud is one of the more popular choices now. Along with Kirby. No-one ever chooses Olimar. Poor Olimar. You try explaining to a bunch of 6-12 year olds where Bayonetta came from though. It got even better when someone won with her and she did this victory pose. There were many outcrys of "EWWWWW" Kids are hilarious! This game gives me big massive smiles whenever I think of it. Bring back Ice Climbers! Hell, throw in Wolf, Squirtle, Ivysaur and Snake (Wouldn't get your hopes up for Snake), I don't care if they're not really new. More is better! (Splatoon Kid is so in as well, and I'm fine with that, I need something Splatoon related that I actually enjoy)
  19. I do believe that's someone's missus here. Can't remember who though... Sounds good, I'd be up for that. Providing the Wi-Fi doesn't start acting up.
  20. How do you tackle enemies? Chances are, it's nowhere near as creative as this guy. Fair warning, there is a very minor spoiler of the end of a side quest. Nothing huge, just the last bits of dialogue before a reward. But just putting it out there. Anyway, I got to 36 shrines, but that was before I realised I was getting a Switch way sooner than I expected. (Thanks again @S.C.G ) So I'm gonna use the 50 quid Amazon voucher I got for Christmas to get Zelda and play Zelda on the Bus, Zelda on the Train, Zelda in my house, Zelda in your house, and most importantly, Zelda on the loo! Thanks @Shorty, I'll learn how to do vids properly one day.
  21. In case anyone's interested, registration for the next Online Competition has started. Entering gets you a Pidgeotite and a Steelixite early. While I'm at it, if you entered the one in Feburary, you can claim your Mega Stones through the Global Link website. This competition is the Kanto X Alola competition. As the name suggests, you're allowed to use the first 149 Pokemon (Mewtwo and Mew are banned, obviously) as well as any Pokemon available in Pokemon Sun/Moon. Single Battle Format. I'm going with a team of Zapdos, Nidoking, Machamp, Tapu Koko, Alolan Marowak and Dragonite this time. Tapu Koko and Marowak served me well last month, so I'll see if they can do the same again. Anyway, the main reason I'm mentioning my team is because if anyone would like to be a sparring partner for my team so I can see how my strategy holds up, I'm open for a battle. I was looking through the news on the Global Link website and there was something about a login issue being resolved recently. I don't know if it's the problem you had, but it might be worth trying again. Speaking of Global Link... @Serebii, do you know how I can get the Mega Stones for the February tournament? I looked in the news section but there was nothing there, cue me clicking on all sorts of pages looking for them.
  22. I'd imagine so. My guess (And it's only a guess) is that it's something you select while choosing your Character/Kart Setup. Much like how you could select Automatic Drifting in Mario Kart Wii.
  23. This is a major detail. You wouldn't be able to pull off a lot of shortcuts with steering assist. So that sorts any balancing issues out, the people who turn it off will be able utilise shortcuts to get ahead. Knowing that, I'm all in favour of this feature. I tried bringing Mario Kart 8 to the kids at my local community centre and less than a quarter of them managed to control themselves without crashing every few seconds. They weren't having much fun. Thankfully, Smash saved the day. 8 player smash always guarantees fun. Hopefully, Steering Assist will help them out.
  24. I'm sure you can still get knocked off by some git with a star purposely swerving and screwing themself over just to spite you. *Looks at everyone in the N-E League* I might be misremembering, but I think I heard something about that feature only being available in offline modes, Single Player, Local Multiplayer, et
  25. OK, that first sentence was easy to guess. eShop refers to the whole "buying digital games" thing. Wanna buy a digital game. Wanna download a game on a Ninty console. You go to eShop. Downloading Super Mario 3D World, for example. Virtual Console is the name that refers to games emulated from past consoles. Super Mario 64 on the Wii/WiiU is a Virtual Console title. They all tend to have the same standard features. (Suspend saves, Restore Points, stuff like that)
