Oh, it's a SRPG? Hmmm... Dampening my hype there a bit. Triangle Strategy is a great name though. It sounds silly.

Actually, it's based on the redesign Smash Bros gave the Mythra Spirit. It's a massive improvement, and loads of others agreed. It was so well received that Xenoblade 2 got a patch that allowed you to unlock that costume for Mythra. (And a similar style one for Pyra) And now those designs were the basis for their Smash models. Which means that yes, @Dcubed, it's another case of "Smash-Game-Smash" except this one happened all in one entry!

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity (20th November 2020)
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Please let that weapon for Link be a Master Cycle! Apart from the massive hint that Purah and Robbie will be playable, that teaser tells us pretty much nothing. Exciting! -
No, it's most definitely the same guy. Rare have said as much themselves. HAL Laboratories didn't know when they were making Smash Bros Melee, however. Which led to the amusingly incorrect trophy description for Kaptain K. Rool.
-
You do realise that's only happened once? In 2018. Smash normally just takes 5 minutes max. Long dives into Smash is what the Sakurai Presents are for.
-
You gotta let that go, man. It's eating you up. I just want more reason to play the game, because I've finished every side quest and have nothing else to do, but I want to play more with that great combat gameplay.

I'd take technological progress over banana based starvation anyday, even with the downsides it entails.

I'm the only one hoping for Age of Calamity DLC? OK... Anyway, Smash Bros alone has me excited! Anything else is just a bonus. I'm very easy to please! The timing of this not long after the confirmation of Crash 4 coming to Switch is totes suspish. Failing that, I'm still sticking with Monster Hunter getting in there. @Dcubed's in crazy fantasy land if he actually believes Arthur is #1 on Capcom's list. (Could be one of his long shots on his Bingo card, mind)

Worth noting that when in DKC 2, he can't help but write a typical pirate "Arrrrgh" in his ransom note, compare that to the voice acted clips from DK 64, and you just can't imagine that surprisingly menacing voice going all pirate. Even in Smash Bros. he can't help but put on his Kaptain hat whenever he whips out his blunderbuss. Absolutely no benefit to doing this, in fact, the end lag animation of him taking it back off leaves him open, but he still puts it on. (Yes, I know it's a clever way of balancing the attack, shut up) I've seen this theory before. That the Kremlings are fighting against the Kong's jungle based tyranny. I've always liked the idea. Whatever they're doing, it only seems to ever affect the Kongs negatively. (Well, OK. Except DK64, destroying the entire island might be a bit much... Kremlings are probably getting desperate by that point) Hold up, does this mean Krunch from Diddy Kong Racing deserted the Kremlings because he sees his friendship with Diddy as more important? You never see him actually working for the Kremlings... Diddy Kong Racing hitting us with that deep lore!

So, poll's closed. I'm very disappointed in all of you. You manage to settle on the one answer I legitimately think is actually wrong. Clearly need to assign you some extra homework.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury (12 Feb 2021)
Glen-i replied to Ronnie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Croc: Legend of the Gobbos was one of the first games I experienced for the PlayStation. Suffice to say, I never regretted not owning a PlayStation. If you make a game with a crocodile protagonist and I don't enjoy it, it's not a good game. -
Oh no, you've wandered into Gaming Questions That Don't Matter. A dive into the many gaming curiosities that I think about that will never actually get an official answer. A normal person might move on, but that's not me, so I'm gonna ask you lot to give your thoughts on these very important (but also not important at all) matters. This week's question revolves around the main villain of the Donkey Kong Country series. King K. Rool is a maniacal crocodile king who wants to steal all of DK's bananas for some reason. K. Rool is also Kaptain K. Rool, the captain of a group of pirates who owns his own island filled with haunted forests, active volcanoes and a fun fair! K. Rool is also Baron K. Roolenstein, a scientist who can make primate killing death robots out of pots and pans. He's also married, and his wife is going to kill him when she finds that out. 3 distinct villains across the SNES games and yet, they're all the same deranged crocodile who really has a grudge against the Kongs. (Sorry, couldn't find a picture of the other personalities, trying to find an image that actually displays properly with a phone is a nightmare, just Google the names if you need to see them) I mean, this is just classic signs of Dissociative Identity Disorder, right? Split personalities, in layman's terms. Now granted, K. Rool doesn't showcase any of the more concerning traits of people with this disorder (Probably because a game about monkeys jumping on crocodiles isn't exactly the place to dive into the complexities of the human psyche). This pretty simplistic example of DID could support the view that K. Rool doesn't actually have the disorder and is just really into dressing up in elaborate costumes. So that's the question, does K. Rool suffer from DID, or is he just a cosplay enthusiast? Don't bother posting that Smash Bros. Melee trophy of Kaptain K. Rool that claims that the two of them are different crocs, you'll just embarrass yourself.

Feels like if that was happening it would've happened before Grand Ace Attorney really... And you're never getting Earthbound Endings, give it up.
-
Would unironically buy that. Just for the sheer stupidity of the idea.

I needed a palette cleanser after 8 playthroughs of Shadow the Hedgehog. So I needed a short RPG that is also very enjoyable. In other words, man, Chrono Trigger is so damn good! Just got the broken Masamune.
-
The same genius scientist who made Mewtwo? Wasn't exactly the best idea.
-
I voted. OK, who are the two dopes who voted Mew? If you're going by that reasoning, then why not go for Arceus? Just willfully ignoring it?
-
Crash in Smash seems a lot more likely now. I've thought for quite a while that that would hinge on whether Crash 4 gets ported to Switch or not. Now I'm at the point where I'd be more surprised if it didn't happen.
-
You know, that's exactly what happened with Sonic Chronicles.
-
Typical Kantonian attitude.

Believe me, I'm well aware of the fundamental problem with this question. That's why I struggle to come up with a satisfying answer. OK, I had a feeling man-made Pokémon would get a mention here. So here's something that bugs me about that. I remember a book in Sinnoh (It's normally Sinnoh, that lore gets wild!) stating, and I am paraphrasing, that humans and Pokémon used to be the same thing. So wouldn't that make Porygon and the like just another branch in Arceus' ridiculously large tree of species? Also, Super Mystery Dungeon has already pretty much confirmed that Arceus can jump between dimensions, so who's to say it didn't create the Ultra Beasts as well? They do? I fail to see how. Sinnoh's creation myth kinda implies that Arceus created everything. You think it can't whip up some stone tablets that magically change Arceus' type?

99% of Ambrella's output have also been total rubbish. Anyone who read my Pokémon Spin-off thread will already know my feelings about them.

Yeah, it's too soon for me to make any concrete plans until TPC actually announce theirs. New Pokémon Snap will defo come into it once it's released, but after that? Who knows? I'd say I'll play Explorers of Sky again. But that's nothing special, I do that every year.

Yeah, sorry. Slipped my mind last week. Probably for the best though, got a bit under the weather after getting a Covid vaccine. This is Gaming Questions That Don't Matter, A journey through the many gaming conundrums that plague my mind, because frankly, they have no hope of actually being officially answered, so I have to make do and inflict my turmoil on you lot. It was inevitable that I'd get to a Pokémon question. The series thrives on unanswered aspects and it certainly won't be the only time it'll show up, but for now, let's focus on a question that looks stupidly simple at first glance. One of my nightmare scenarios is that I go on to "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?" and get this as the first question. Your average gamer will look at that and be able to give an answer in a heartbeat. Me however? I'll look at that and start panicking because it's not a case of what I think is the right answer, it's what the person who set the question thinks is the right answer. Now of course, you'll never see this happen in real life (Although I did once see a question about the Mario series where the answer was "Wart". The person answering it didn't have a hope in hell!), but this question is still problematic because technically, all four of those options could be right! So, instead of making my case for what I think, I'm gonna explain why each of these four Pokémon could be classed as the first and then leave it to the poll and further discussion. Bulbasaur This plant-dinosaur hybrid's case for being number 1 is pretty straightforward. It's #001 in the National Pokédex. I mean, if you need more explanation than that, then you're gonna struggle with the rest of this... Rhydon Mr. Rhino Drill here is a pretty popular Pokémon, despite being cursed with a name that's made it the target of many unfunny, dirty puns and the unholy type combination of Rock/Ground. Despite this, one of these somehow still lost to Ash's Pikachu because Pikachu "went for the horn". Don't do that in any game, by the way, it won't work. Ash is an idiot. Rhydon's claim for first place comes from a common piece of Pokémon trivia in that it was the first Pokémon that Pokémon artist, Ken Sugimori, created. So as far as real life is concerned, Rhydon is the first Pokémon. Mew Some of you might be more inclined to consider the last generation 1 Pokémon as the first Pokémon. The reason being that it's thought to be a claim that quite a few Pokédex entries make, here's the one from the fourth generation of games. "Because it can use all kinds of moves, many scientists believe MEW to be the ancestor of Pokémon." A lot of different games have similar Pokédex entries. If they're right, then Mew would have to be the first Pokémon. Although, that's up for debate thanks to contestant number 4. Arceus This... thing was the final Pokémon in the fourth generation of games. Simply put, it's strongly implied that Arceus created every Pokémon, which makes it effectively Pokémon God. (Which makes Mew... Pokémon Jesus?) Now, some might argue that being Pokémon God would mean that Arceus isn't an actual Pokémon. I've played enough RPG's where a villain wants to be better than human and become a God, so I can kinda see where this point is coming from. So there we have it, 4 different Pokémon claiming to be the first for a host of different reasons. Which one do you think fits the bill? Oh, and I'm not gonna vote in the poll just yet. Don't want my extreme nerdiness to influence anyone.

It's a real shame HeartGold/SoulSilver are stupid expensive to get a hold of. They're the best Pokémon remakes.
