Word of advice. When you get to a room with six presents in close proximity to each other, take the top-left one first. Trust me on this. This is easily one of the best RPG's on NES. But well, it is still on the NES, so the game is very punishing, but once you get a second party member that you've named, it gets a lot more manageable. Grind money for a H20 Pendant when you find the shop that sells it. It's the best pendant because fire attacks are everywhere. It'll serve you well for all of the game. That shop in general has most of the best armour you can buy, so if you wanna save for that too, all the better. Other then that, try not to rely on guides too much. The game's very open and designed to get lost in from time to time, building EXP as you're trying to figure out what to do next.

There's only 242 Pokémon!? What a pathetic amount, considering how unnecessarily massive the world is. Seems I was being far too optimistic with my impression of 300... On the plus side, at least I'm less then 30 away from being done.

This is usually because of the permadeath feature. Those late game characters are meant to be a fallback for those who go for an "Iron Man" run. Otherwise, you could find yourself in an unwinnable situation very easily.

I have an instinctual habit of taking a cool/badass looking Pokémon and giving it the most humdrum or silly name that pops into my head. 9 times out of 10, alliteration will come into play. My Hydreigon comes to mind, scary three headed dragon? I knew just what to call it! What I didn't know is that 9 years later, it would pay off in spades, thanks to the trainer's name being added to the standard "X used X" text in Max Raids. No, I'm not actually wearing a hat.

Yep, waiting for that. But when it comes to completing a Pokédex, it doesn't feel right that I'm the only outlier in execution. I've done it in every single game that's not Let's Go, but Legends? @Ugh first aid completed the Dex yesterday and yet, hadn't reached the final rank. I found this very strange, because I'm at 215 catalogued, haven't finished the fifth area yet, and I'm only 3,300 points away from being there. I assumed it would naturally happen if someone goes for Dex completion, but now that you mention a similar thing, it's dawned on me that maybe I'm the weird one. Well, y'know, Wyrdeer then usual. If it means I don't have to bother grinding that out, all the better. I'm starting to get sick of Hisui. Getting 10 research points was a nice way to use Pokémon I'd normally immediately box at first, but now it's just annoying busy work. That's one feature I wouldn't mind getting dropped in future games.

It's just common courtesy if someone SD's at the first 5 seconds of a match. Keeps the match more interesting. The way @BowserBasher won with Dark Pit near the end though was nothing short of spectacular though!

Finished the 4th Noble fight. God, that was the worst area ever! It's humongous and boring and an utter slog to get through. The open-world fatigue is really starting to set in here and the Pokémon aspect is starting to give way. I dread the next area...

Smash Remix is easily the best Smash mod there is. My only criticism is that Dark Samus feels out of place because that character didn't exist in the N64 era (You could argue the same for Lucas, but I like to pretend it's an alternate universe Smash where the N64 version of Mother 3 actually happened).
