I mean, there's no harm in it. But if you bust out a PSI Shield at the start of the final battle. You'll only take 80-ish damage max per turn. That's perfectly reasonable to deal with if Ana focuses on Lifeup Pi.
-
Oh sorry, forgot to mention that I'm not well. So I can't make it tonight.
-
Honestly? You're probably golden at this point to climb to the top. If things get dicey, 4th D Slip guarantees an escape. So you can likely make the rest of the way using that if things go wrong. Once you get the last two melodies, the rest of the game is smooth sailing.

Ah yes, Mt. Itoi. The one part of Beginnings that I truly believe is flat out bad. The developers had a tight deadline, and didn't have the time to balance it, and it shows. You're so close to the end, though. Unfortunately, you need Lloyd for his mechanics prowess. He'll get you something that's way better then Teddy ever could be. But it's rough going until then. When you do get it though, (and you'll know when you do) whatever you do, do not backtrack! Gun for the top and get the two melodies there. If you backtrack, you'll only make things a million times harder.

You can just throw the matches. It still counts.

Yeah, I noticed the elimination Bowling in the trailer and thought, that's such a good idea! God, those not-Miis look so generic though. Looks like they come from one of the many third party copies of Wii Sports.

@Dcubed, get in here! EDIT: GAH! He's too quick!

The two EarthBound games were inspired by Dragon Quest, which had those kind of restrictions back then. 8 items per character is very stingy though. At least the SNES one upped it and made it somewhat easier to offload unneeded items with Escargo Express and the For Sale sign.

Yeah, Duncan's Factory is one of two absolutely humongous and confusing dungeons in Beginnings. A real slog. Hope you didn't miss the Super Spray and second Franklin Badge though. They are very useful items. Anything that keeps Ana alive is a great thing!
-
Did you get the Onyx Hook? It's worth your time to use that to quickly go back to Magicant and buy the most expensive equipment there.
-
Amazingly enough, neither. Treasure Trove is actually worse value on the 3DS then the original release! So no, Yacht Club was very uncool in that regard. If you bought the original game, you got the other three campaigns as free updates. Once Treasure Trove was released, it replaced the original version with a more expensive Treasure Trove that added nothing. Compared to the other versions though. The 3DS one has great 3D effects and the touch screen allows for quick item switching. It's also super portable! It's probably one of the best versions, in my opinion. Cheaper, more QoL features, and easy to play on a train. However, it is missing the multiplayer focused Shovel Knight Showdown, so keep that in mind.

How the hell do you lose them!? How hard is it to keep the receiver plugged into the console!? It really should be the other way around.

The online competition is now live. Complete three battles to be eligible for the Shiny Articuno. EDIT: It amazes me to this day how often people get blindsided by my Groudon, Speedy. People send out a water Pokémon to cancel out Drought, except that 9 times out of 10, they get outsped, and get a Thunder Punch to the face for their troubles. It consistently gets me a free KO, and it never gets old!
-
It's not though? At most, it's a tease of some artwork existing.
-
Not when it confirms absolutely nothing!

I despair at the thought that people are going crazy over something so trivial. I want more Metroid Prime, man, but there's plenty of other games to tide me over.

Finally! Someone who agrees with me! I haven't played it in around a week either, despite being right near the end. I'm the kind of person who would blitz through a new Pokémon game in about a week without ever really stopping because I'm enjoying the gameplay loop of battles with a hint of catching stuff I want, but this? I just can't bear more then an hour before wanting to play something else.

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: N64 & SEGA Mega Drive (& GBA!!)
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Called it. Knew it'd be the end of the month. Suppose I should finish off OoT, huh? I'm at the Spirit Temple, so it's feasible. -
Right, it's been a week. So I'm gonna give a rundown of the consensus here. Day and Time Totting up the specifics of which day people have said they are free, 1 person said Thursday is the only one they can make, another said they'd prefer Thursday, and another said Saturday morning/afternoon. Everyone else didn't specify a day, so I'll take that as they don't mind when it happens. So the original time of Thursday at 8pm seems like the way to go here. It's not perfect, but it's the time that gets the most people in, and having as full a room as possible is my priority. Score Tracking 3 people have stated they would prefer this to just be a casual get together where scores aren't tracked, while 2 people said they'd prefer the opposite. Everyone else stated no preference. So, as far as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe goes, I won't keep scores. Theme Nights Reading back on all the posts, the only aspect of this some people have issues with is the vehicle restriction. Fair enough, some of them have wildly different ways of handling, and as much as I enjoy having everyone use the absolute worst setup possible, I'll have to relent this time. That's not to say I'm ditching Theme Nights wholesale, but I'll only be dictating tracks and cc format here. And I'll be doing it every 3 weeks or so. Should get some less popular picks played now and again that way. I'm wondering if people would be OK with the actual character being restricted as well? It doesn't affect stats too much, and it is funny seeing everyone use the same character. Anyway, the Booster Pass will drop on the 18th of March. That's a Friday... It'd be a massive shame if we didn't play the new tracks on the day it released. So, even though I just said that Thursday would be the day we set, I'm sure it'll be fine if I set the first session on a Friday to coincide with the Booster Pass. Thanks for your feedback. I'll make a new thread a week before we start. See you then!

So I tried the Triangle Strategy demo. There's some interesting things in there. Not sure if I'm sold. But I'll tell you one thing, that Title Screen music is amazing! Then again, Octopath Traveler also has an amazing soundtrack, so it's not too surprising.

Kinda kills this board dead, don't it?

*Looks at my profile pic* Guess chameleons are OK to go then! All registered.

3DS and Wii U eShop purchases to end March 2023
Glen-i replied to Helmsly's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yes. Assuming you're talking about the Virtual Console versions. Bank comes with a separate app called Poké Transporter. It lets you transfer Pokémon from the DS Gen 5 games, and the Virtual Console versions of Gen 1 and 2. Be aware though, it's a one way trip. Once you put something in Bank, you can't put it back in the Virtual Console games. -
I mean, it's EarthBound. Ridiculous is half the point of it. I've been playing it myself, got 5 melodies so far, about to get the sixth. I'm surprised at how much I've remembered from my WiiU playthrough. Although that might be down to having missed the second and fifth the first go around. They're very meanly hidden.

Anyway, as if my annual wall of shames weren't enough... Mostly checks out. Big lol at Pokken being there purely because I've only played 2 fighting games on WiiU. Dear lord! That console got some mileage! Didn't realise how ham I went with FE Awakening! The rest checks out though. Yes, even Puzzle & Dragons. The Mario one takes that long to 100%! Brutal game!
