Sonic Mania looks fucking amazing. I can't wait. It's pretty much exactly what I laid out above although I wouldn't have expected the old-school visuals, and that makes it even better.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. They might be smart and tie smartphone usage to the console similar to Sony remote play and Xbox's smartglass, but with more depth, but I imagine they're able to appreciate the separation of what makes this app popular against what a console needs to succeed. Hopefully, the NX is not heavily dependent on a gimmick which will age. Also, AR is a long way from being what makes PoGo popular IMO. It's the collectability, real world/outdoors nature and self-generated social aspect. Everyone I know turns AR off most of the time to save battery.

Kind of an unusual choice for the first live action movie isn't it? Nothing like regular pokemon, a spin-off game that most people in the west haven't even heard of.... Not exactly got high hopes for it.

"World's Greatest Detective" is his given subtitle like "Man of Steel". He's a character... and it's taken for granted that he's an excellent detective and will solve any crime in his given universe. I'm not sure how a "my fictional detective is better than your fictional detective" argument is even meant to be functional.

Only... slightly disappointed because I kind of thought they would take a more unique stylistic approach to the universe, From the original teaser I imagined we were going to have an old-school, stripped back "World's Greatest Detective" vibe. Instead we've got a pretty typical looking modern comic Batman. Looks fine to me!
